UFC flyweight standout Mariya Agapova is on the verge of being homeless weeks away from her next fight

Less than a month away from her return to the Octagon, UFC flyweight standout Mariya Agapova revealed that she is on the verge of being homeless.

Taking to social media, ‘Demonslayer’ shared her unfortunate situation, revealing that she was actively looking for shelters and charitable organizations to help keep her off the street. Agapova also touched on some disturbing details surrounding her personal life, claiming that those close to her have attempted to exploit and traffic her.

“In a week, I’ll probably be homeless,” Agapova wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories. “Are you surprised? Not me. This is a classic of my life in America, becoming homeless right before a UFC fight. This is a f*cking classic! Next week I will be looking for a homeless shelter because I don’t trust people anymore. Since I don’t have money for rent, I live wherever I have to. People exploit me, and during this exploitation, they neglect my personal boundaries and my life. Including trying to sell me into sex slavery behind my back.

“Who knows shelters, charitable organizations that are aimed at helping, not exploiting, please write to me.”

It’s a sad situation for the 14-fight veteran who is scheduled to make her sixth career walk to the Octagon at UFC Denver on July 13. Agapova is expected to square off against Luana Santos at the event.

Making her promotional debut in 2020, ‘Demonslayer’ won two of her first three fights, besting Hannah Cifers and Sabina Mazo with a couple of first-round rear-naked chokes. However, Agapova has struggled to find the win column as of late, dropping back-to-back fights against Maryna Moroz and Gillian Robertson.

Mariya Agapova says helping ‘losers’ turned her into one

Ahead of her fight with Robertson, Mariya Agapova said in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA that she was working as a bouncer at a nightclub to make ends meet. She also walked into her fight against ‘The Savage’ sporting a nasty knee injury sustained while training.

Despite knowing she’d need surgery, Agapova went ahead with the fight as she desperately needed the payday.

“It’s still bad and I still need surgery,” she said ahead of the Robertson fight. “So after my fight, I will do the surgery, but my life situation is very bad right now, that’s why I can’t go to surgery before this fight. I work [as a] bouncer right now at the club and no one gives a sh*t about me honestly.

“After I get hurt and my sponsor didn’t want to sign with me, and I just get bouncer work and [I’m] working with [an] injury.”

During that same interview, Agapova refused to place all the blame on the UFC for her woes, adding that she had chosen to help others out financially — a decision she ended up regretting.

“I get to this point because I helped a couple of losers, I was thinking that I helped making them successful, but no, it doesn’t work like this,” Agapova added. “I become a f*cking loser because I try to help f*cking losers.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will box longtime division rival Chael Sonnen in the main event of Spaten Fight Night, recently made official for Sat., June 15, 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil. The contest will be staged across five, two-minute rounds at a catchweight of 216 pounds, with both combatants wearing 14-ounce gloves.

National Boxing Council Brazil president Geyza Caryny told MMA Fighting that Silva vs. Sonnen will stand as an exhibition bout, with a winner being declared by way of stoppage or decision. The black tie event is expected to include 600 invitees and will stand as Silva’s final fight in Brazil (but not his retirement fight), according to reports, airing live on Globo.

Silva, two years older than Sonnen at 49, already holds a pair of wins over “The American Gangster” from their days as UFC headliners. After his come-from-behind victory at UFC 117 in Oakland, “The Spider” annihilated Sonnen by second-round technical knockout in their UFC 148 rematch in Las Vegas. They later became buds by way of Brazilian barbecue.

Chael Sonnen claims boxing grudge match with Jorge Masvidal is locked in for October 2024

A boxing match with Anderson Silva isn’t the only big-money fight on Chael Sonnen’s calendar this year.

On Sunday, it was revealed that ‘The Spider’ would compete one last time in Brazil against his former foe on June 15. The bout will go down six weeks before their inaugural clash at UFC 117 is forever enshrined in the UFC Hall of Fame.

But according to ‘The American Gangster,’ a trilogy fight with Silva is just the beginning.

“Anderson said for Chael to pick the rule set and it was just a situation where I’ve always wanted to box,” Sonnen said during the latest episode of EPSN’s Good Guy/Bad Guy. “I’ve got this thing coming up with Jorge Masvidal. If we’re just letting all these secrets out, I’ve got this thing coming up with Masvidal in October of this year and that thing has been coming up ever since ESPN sequestered me in Miami at UFC 299 to try and protect me from Masvidal.

“There was nothing that hurt my ego more than me being the one who was being locked down and I only share that with you because I’ve known this Masvidal thing was coming and when you let the cat out of the bag, the Masvidal vs. Diaz [fight], I don’t want to step on Diaz’s toes, but I’ve got Jorge in my sights because when I step in there with Masvidal, it’s going to be eight rounds and they are going to have the 10 or 12-ounce gloves so it’s going to be a little bit of a different situation.”

Jorge Masvidal chomping at the bit to break chael sonnen’s ‘eye orbital’

The rivalry between Jorge Masvidal and Chael Sonnen seemingly came out of nowhere after ‘Gamebred’ randomly threatened to “break [Sonnen’s] eye orbital” during a scathing rant on The MMA Hour earlier this year. “He’s a cheating f*ck,” Masivdal added. “Like, if you – he’s gotten caught with more substances in his body, than any other competitor in the history.”

The two have since traded barbs back and forth on social media. In March, Sonnen claimed that he was sequestered at the demand of ESPN while in Miami for UFC 299 to protect him from a potential run-in with Masvidal.

Chael Sonnen

Currently, Masvidal is gearing up for a rematch with Nate Diaz on July 6. The two fan favorites first met at UFC 244 in 2019 for the inaugural BMF title. ‘Gamebred’ won the bout via a doctor’s stoppage following the third round.

It was the last fight Masvidal won before effectively retiring from MMA in 2023.

Embattled MMA fighter Mariya Agapova will make her return at UFC Denver.

Unfortunately, the 27 year-old “Demonslayer” has not competed since a 2022 loss to Gillian Robertson at UFC Vegas 60. As a result, Agapova is out of money and facing homelessness, as well as exploitation from her former friends.

“In a week I’ll probably be homeless,” Agapova wrote on Instagram. “Are you surprised? But not me. This is a classic of my life in America. Becoming homeless right before a UFC fight. This is a f*cking classic! Next week I will be looking for a homeless shelter. Because I don’t trust people anymore. So since I don’t have money for rent, I live wherever I have to. People exploit me, and during this exploitation they neglect my personal boundaries and my life, including trying to sell me into sex slavery behind my back. Who knows shelters, charitable organizations that are aimed at helping, not exploiting? Please write to me in Florida.”

Agapova claims a friend recently tried to get her into modeling, which she later discovered was an entryway for “porn and prostitution.” Her Instagram stories (watch them here) document her exchanges with the alleged predators, as well as the ensuing fallout.

“It all started with the fact that I came to visit a friend whom I have known for a year,” Agapova continued. “His name is Richie. He said that his cousin has his own leather company and they want me to be their model. Richie asked me to try on some very sexualized clothes. To take photos and send to his cousin. They tried to cheat me for money, drag me into porn and prostitution. But the fact that my friend, whom I have known for about a year, tried to sell me into sex slavery, made me finally give up this idea. It shocked me. So I decided to tell you this story.”

Agapova’s fight against Luana Santos takes place on July 13 at a venue to be determined.

UFC fans slam Henry Cejudo for calling out 1-4 fighter for a clash at The APEX: 'I just feel sorry for you'

Henry Cejudo is without a doubt one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time. Aside from holding two UFC world championships simultaneously, he is an Olympic gold medalist, accomplishing a feat only a tiny percentage of human beings will ever achieve.

So why is he practically begging to fight someone barely clinging onto a top-ten spot inside The APEX?

After winning both the bantamweight and flyweight titles and defeating the likes of TJ Dillashaw, Demetrious Johnson, and Dominick Cruz — three of the biggest names in their respective divisions — ‘Triple C’ packed his bags and went home. It was a confusing decision at the prime of his career, but the retirement didn’t last long.

Three years after laying down his gloves, Cejudo returned to challenge then-bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. Despite a valiant effort, he came up short on two of the three judges’ scorecards. Still, Cejudo’s performance against one of the best 135’ers of all time was enough to get excited about his second run in the sport.

Henry Cejudo

Then he fought Merab Dvalishvili.

The Machine’ absolutely dominated Cejudo for three rounds at UFC 298, establishing himself as the division’s top contender and knocking ‘Triple C’ even further down the ladder.

Desperate for his first win in more than four years, Cejudo is now turning his attention toward Rob Font, practically begging the Tampa native to sign on the dotted line so they can fight in front of 50 people at The APEX in Las Vegas.

“Hey Rob Font, my wife told me I need to spend more time with my kids so let’s meet up July 20th at the Apex,” Cejudo wrote on X. “Don’t even worry about getting me a Father’s Day Gift, the beating I’m gonna give you will be good enough. Sign the contract hoe.”

Henry Cejudo

That’s a far cry from a fight with Brandon Moreno inside The Sphere.

UFC Fans lament the downfall of Henry Cejudo

Needless to say, fight fans were taken aback by the callout considering that Rob Font is 1-4 in his last five with his only win in the previous three years coming against Adrian Yanez.
