Paddy Pimblett Considers WWE Future After UFC Career: "Knock someone out with a sweet chin music"

Once he wraps up his UFC career, Paddy Pimblett sees a future in sports entertainment.

The Baddy’ has become one of the UFC’s most intriguing stars courtesy of his brash attitude and his ability to back it up, as proven by his spotless record inside the Octagon. Thus far, Pimblett is 6-0 under the UFC banner and recently broke into the lightweight top 15 with a stunning first-round submission victory over Bobby ‘King’ Green in Manchester earlier this year.

Pimblett has a ways to go before he earns himself a shot at the division’s top prize, but that doesn’t mean the Liverpudlian isn’t making plans for an eventual title run and beyond.

During a recent interview courtesy of OLBG.com, Pimblett revealed that he’d love to do something a little more dramatic once his days of strapping on the four-ounce gloves are over.

“Yeah [I could end up in the WWE]. I used to love wrestling. My favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and I’m dying to knock someone out with a sweet chin music in an MMA fight.

Paddy Pimblett wants to head to Hollywood after UFC

If you want to emulate a professional wrestler, ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ certainly isn’t a bad choice, but Pimblett isn’t stopping there. He later revealed that he’d love the opportunity to flex his acting chops in Hollywood one day.

“But I reckon I’m gonna end up in films. I’m gonna be an actor. I’ve just always thought about it. I always told people I was gonna be in the UFC for years. I’ve always loved films and I’ve always watched different TV programs, and when I was younger, when I was little, I did a little bit of acting stuff when I was in a few plays when I was a kid.

“So like I’ve always said that once my fighting career’s over, I’ll move over to acting and I’ll start doing that. And just by being in the UFC and stuff like that, I’ll end up getting a little job and then I’ll show that I can actually act and I’ll have a few more jobs.”

So what do you see in Paddy Pimblett’s future? WWE Superstar? Hollywood elite? Perhaps both.

Brock Lesnar’s WWE Future in Doubt: No Creative Plans Amid Ongoing Investigations

Brock Lesnar

Former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE superstar Brock Lesnar is rumored to not be considered for any future roles, according to community insiders.

The Future of Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is not currently included in WWE’s creative plans for upcoming storylines. Despite being a major star and a former champion, according to insider sources, there are no specific story arcs or matches set for him in the near future. This situation is noted because Lesnar often plays a major role in WWE events.

While fans might want to see Lesnar back soon, the WWE plans to focus on other wrestlers and storylines without him. His absence might be due to his special contract and the way he usually makes limited appearances, but most importantly, his potential involvement with the Vince McMahon court case.

While not explicitly named in the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, Brock Lesnar is believed to be the unnamed “WWE Superstar” described in the allegations. The lawsuit alleges that McMahon used Grant to entice this wrestler (believed to be Lesnar) to re-sign with WWE. McMahon allegedly shared explicit photos and videos of Grant with the wrestler. After Lesnar signed a new contract with WWE, McMahon allegedly texted Grant stating that “part of the deal was f*****g U.”

Brock Lesnar

As a result of these allegations, WWE has reportedly removed Brock Lesnar from their creative plans. It’s important to note that Lesnar has not been officially charged with any crime, and these allegations are part of the ongoing lawsuit against McMahon and WWE. The situation is still developing, and Lesnar’s future with WWE remains uncertain as the company appears to be distancing itself from him.

The US-born Brock Lesnar began as a standout collegiate wrestler at the University of Minnesota, where he won the NCAA Division I heavyweight championship in 2000. After college, Lesnar transitioned to professional wrestling, joining WWE in 2002 and quickly rising to become one of its biggest stars, winning multiple championships.

In 2004, he left WWE to pursue other ventures, including a brief stint in the NFL. Lesnar then made a successful transition to MMA joining the UFC in 2008 and capturing the heavyweight title. After retiring from MMA in 2011, he returned to WWE in 2012, where he has continued to be a dominant force, winning numerous titles and headlining major events.

WWE's Triple H Admits Envy Over Dana White’s Noche UFC Production

Triple H is envious of what Dana White accomplished at Noche UFC.

Last month, the Ultimate Fighting Championship delivered on its promise to produce an event unlike anything combat sports fans had ever seen before. The promotion’s card inside the already iconic Sphere in Las Vegas was a spectacle that had everyone, including the WWE’s Chief Content Officer, swooning.

“When I see what Dana is doing and they’re just crushing it and I see stuff at The Sphere and I look at that production and I’m like, ‘I wanna do that.’ It’s just like a lot of fun,” Triple H said during a press conference following WWE Bad Blood on October 5. “Man, it’s amazing to watch them do what they do, at the level they do it, and there’s nothing like that in the world” (h/t Sportskeeda).

Noche UFC

Though the budget for the event exceeded $20 million, Noche UFC brought in a record-breaking $22 million gate, breaking the $17 million record set by Conor McGregor’s clash with Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.

It also eclipsed the company’s previous records for highest-grossing merchandise sales and highest-grossing sales for VIP experiences. It also generated more sponsorship dollars than any other event in UFC history.

Noche UFC

Noche UFC fails to close the show with a bang

As much as a spectacle as the evening was, the action inside the Octagon left a lot to be desired. Particularly in the case of the co-main and main events. Both Valentina Shevchenko and Merab Dvalishvili deployed a wrestle-heavy attack against their opponents en route to a pair of uneventful world title victories.

Their performances were dominant, but not exactly fan-friendly which left the UFC CEO a bit frustrated.

“You can control how much you spend on the production of an event, but you can’t control the fights,” White said of the lackluster title fights during the post-fight press conference.

When Ric Flair Tried to Out-Smoke Mike Tyson: "I didn't even know where I was"

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair once made the mistake of trying to out-smoke ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

After establishing themselves as two of the absolute best in their respective fields, Tyson and Flair took a similar path in their twilight years, choosing to promote their own lines of cannabis-based products appropriately named Tyson 2.0 and Ric Flair Drip.

Mike Tyson and Ric Flair

Tyson and the “stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun” have acted as spokesmen for their brands over the years while often teaming up to support the decriminalization of marijuana and to discuss how cannabis has helped them in various aspects of their life.

Recently, Tyson appeared via video call at the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Hollywood alongside the legendary wrestler. During their time together, Tyson and Flair shared anecdotes about their use of marijuana which eventually led to a debate over who could smoke more between the two.

Hilariously, Flair quickly declared Tyson the winner while revealing that the two had engaged in a friendly contest some time back that didn’t exactly go his way.

“I said ‘You know what, Mike, I’m going to show you that I can smoke as much as you.’ At four o’clock in the morning, I didn’t even know where I was,” Flair said. “Literally, he puts Ric Flair to bed with his cannabis” (h/t Marca).

Mike Tyson returns to the ring on November 15

While the 75-year-old Flair has put his professional wrestling career to bed (we hope), Mike Tyson is preparing for a return to the boxing ring for his first professional bout in nearly two decades.

On Friday, November 15, ‘Iron’ will lace up the gloves inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for a clash with ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul.

The fight will air on Netflix, making it the first live combat sports broadcast for the streaming giant since the subscription-based service went live on January 16, 2007.

Paul, who will be 31 years younger than Tyson come fight night, carries with him a 10-1 record including seven wins by way of knockout. His only loss came against Tommy Fury via split decision in February 2023. Tyson’s last pro fight was on June 11, 2005, against Kevin McBride. Shortly after, Tyson hung up his gloves for good.

Mike Tyson

‘Iron’ went 50-6 with 44 KOs and 2 no-contests over the course of his 20-year career.

Dana White comments on WWE's rumored relocation to Las Vegas

If Dana White does know anything about the WWE’s rumored move to Las Vegas, he’s not telling.

On Tuesday, WrestleVotes reported that employees of World Wrestling Entertainment were informed in a meeting at the corporate Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut that the Performance Center would be relocating from Orlando, Florida to Las Vegas. Mark Shapiro, the president of William Morris Endeavor, the WWE’s parent company, reportedly revealed the news to a room full of employees.

WWE

For those unaware, Endeavor is also the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Endeavor closed a deal to purchase the WWE for $9.3 billion in April 2023 before merging both the UFC and the sports entertainment juggernaut into one company, TKO Group Holdings. With Las Vegas already serving as the UFC’s base of operations, speculation quickly ran rampant that WWE’s rumored move could be the first step toward further combining the two companies into one.

WWE

Asked about the WWE’s rumored move into its territory following Tuesday’s episode of Dana White’s Contender Series, the UFC CEO remained tight-lipped but flashed a curious smile suggesting he knows more than he’s willing to share.

“That’s none of my business. I know nothing about it,” White said coyly. “It’s none of my business. Let the WWE talk about their business.”

Rumors of WWE’s Move to Las Vegas Alread Debunked?

Not long after the rumor ran rampant on social media, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that a source within the company claimed it was false and that no such meeting had taken place. The site also added that nobody within the performance center had heard of any such plans to move to Vegas and were shocked when the word began circulating of such a move.

Sources also indicated that Shapiro has talked about how Las Vegas is a sports and entertainment destination and that there was the possibility of a WWE presence on the table, though no immediate plans to relocate are in place.

WWE

Despite the followups from both Sapp and Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, WrestleVotes doubled down on their initial report.
