Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey competed for the WWE RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships in the main event of tonight’s (Sun., April 7, 2019) from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Rousey was the RAW champ heading into WrestleMania. Facing fan favorite Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in a winner-takes-all Triple Threat match, Rousey was rumored to be leaving the WWE after the match. That would most likely only take place if she lost.

Rousey came out smoking with her striking, nailing both women. But when she tried to lock on an armbar on Flair hanging from the ropes, she was drop-kicked to the ground by Lynch:

Rousey fought back with a flying cross body on both women:

But Lynch got Rousey in her own move, an armbar, when they were locked up against the post:

Lynch eventually won both titles by reversing a Rousey slam and pinning her shoulders to the mat. It was Rousey’s first pinfall loss in WWE:

Brock Lesnar has been rumored to return to the UFC since Daniel Cormier beat Stipe Miocic at last July’s UFC 226.

What just happened at tonight’s (Sun., April 7, 2019) WrestleMania 35 from East Rutherford, New Jersey, may open the path for that to finally happen. Lesnar lost his WWE Universal Title to Seth Rollins in their awaited match. It started out well for Lesnar when he scored his signature F5 before the match had even started (via WWE):

He also took Rollins to the infamous ‘Suplex City’:

Lesnar capped it off by tossing Rollins out of the ring:

But when Lesnar lined Rollins up for another F5 to finish the match, he was reversed. Rollins hit Lesnar with a low blow while the ref was distracted to score his signature curb stomp:

Rollins celebrated with a new title of ‘The Beast Slayer’:

All that was scripted, of course, and it could mean Lesnar is leaving WWE for another run in the UFC. There are some hurdles to cross before that actually happens, but this was the biggest one on the surface.

Cormier is looking for one last huge payday before he rides into the sunset. Lesnar is that fight, even if it doesn’t make sense in terms of rankings or legitimacy.

Last night, a bizarre scene unfolded when a fan attacked pro-wrestling legend Bret Hart during his induction at WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony.

The man tackled Hart and allegedly landed a punch on him. He was then quickly subdued by UFC veteran Travis Browne and wrestlers like Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, and Curtis Axel. Hart sustained only little damage because of their efforts.

Today, we find out that 26-year-old Nebraskan Zachary Madsen was the assailant.

Watch the disgusting attack here:

According to a report from CBS New York, Madsen was arrested by police and taken to the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn. There, he was charged with two counts of assault and trespassing because of the attack. Madsen caused minor injuries to Hart and a security guard who was therefore attempting to subdue him.

What’s more, Madsen is an amateur MMA fighter. According to MMA Mania, Madsen is a welterweight who has gone 2-1 in Nebraska’s Dynasty Combat Sports promotion. He last fought in March 2018, losing by submission in the first round.

Watch the fight here:

Madsen has appeared increasingly unhinged in his social media outburst against the WWE, based on these two strange and angry tweets:

These don’t necessarily explain why he attacked Hart, but they do explain perhaps why he carried out such a foolish, violent errand at a WWE ceremony. He was beaten for his efforts but got a shot in on the WWE legend in turn.

Now, he’ll have to face justice in the legal form as a result of his foolhardy actions.

Travis Browne defends WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart from a crazed fan who decided to attack the legendary pro wrestler.

WWE held a ceremony for the 2019 Hall of Fame class that honored the wrestlers who have had success in the pro wrestling business on Saturday night the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as part of WrestleMania 35 weekend. The event aired live on the WWE Network.

Hart was making a speech alongside WWE star Natalya as part of the induction for The Hart Foundation (Hart and Jim Neidhart). During the speech, a fan rushed the ring and tried to tackle Hart.

Several people got their hands on the man as he was being taken out. Those involved include Browne, Raw Tag Team Champion Dash Wilder, Davey Boy Smith Jr, The New Day, Titus O’Neil and Bret himself.

The reason that Browne was in attendance is due to him being the boyfriend of Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The fan was charged with two counts of assault in the 3rd degree and disorderly conduct. WWE issued a statement on the incident by stating the following:

“An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring. The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities.”
