Jacob “Stitch” Duran can be seen at almost every major UFC event working the corner for one fighter or another, and his expertise has saved for than a few bouts from being stopped due to a cut.
Duran is also recognized as one of the nicest guys in the industry, who always seems to have a smile on his face and a warm greeting for anyone that meets him. He’s pretty much beloved by any fighter that works with him as well.
So it’s hard to imagine getting Stitch rattled after a fight, but that’s exactly what Jason “Mayhem” Miller managed to do after a bout he was competing in a few years ago.
In this latest edition of “Stitch’s Stories,” he recalls a night he had a run-in with the colorful fighter after one of his bouts.
Following the fights, Duran’s job is always the same—go over to the fighter that he’s working with that night and make sure to clean up as much blood as possible and attend to their cuts just like he normally would between rounds. At the end of the fight, it’s Stitch’s duty to also make sure the fighter is cleaned up and ready to go for television, as well, so when the camera turns on they don’t have a face that’s a bloody mess.
That’s where Stitch ran into the man they call Mayhem for the first time, and the interaction turned rather interesting.
Check out the interview above to see what happened when Stitch met Mayhem, and the fallout that occurred.
