This guy is truly unbelievable.

Just two months removed from a broken left leg that many consider the most gruesome and dangerous injury ever sustained inside of the Octagon, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is already back in the gym.

Now while many Instagram photos and Twitter posts have repeatedly surfaced over the past couple of weeks, none of them offered as much promise as this video recently posted by Silva’s Muay Thai College Instagram handle Tuesday evening.

The video is short and rather basic for a striker of Silva’s caliber, but it’s important to overlook the absence of footwork and power in order to understand the bigger picture.

This is a guy that has been fueled by perfection for almost his entire career. Dressed with a skill set still unmatched in mixed martial arts, “The Spider” was, and still is, in a class of his own.

That’s why his journey to recovery is that more special.

As a prolific figure in the sport, Silva is under a scrutinized spotlight.  A spotlight that surely encompasses a whole lot of doubters and haters waiting for his downfall.  That’s why videos like this are a welcoming sight.

It has yet to be determined as to when the 38-year-old Brazilian will actually make his return to the cage, but by his recent track record of doing the impossible, would it surprise anyone if he fought tomorrow?

Well maybe not that soon, but the greatest fighter to ever do it is making huge strides in his road to a comeback by quickly healing, lifting weights and hitting pads.

Kudos, Anderson.  Keep doing you, buddy.
