This Saturday’s fight between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former champ Lyoto Machida is one of the most intriguing matchups between any two fighters in UFC history. While most fans have Jones as the favorite, it is nearly impossible to predict the outcome of this fight.

Jones is still undefeated (with the exception of Matt Hamill, of course) and Machida has only two losses in his career, one of which could have gone either way. Will the Machida era rise from its ashes on Saturday? Or will Jones take out “The Dragon” and prove himself to be Dragonborn?

UFC 140 has a lot more going for it than just Jones vs. Machida. Frank Mir and “Big Nog” are set to face off against one another for the second time. After his performance against Brendon Schaub, many people are giving Nogueira the win in this fight, but we all know you can never count Mir out.

With so many fights that could end up being fight of the night, UFC 140 is set to be another great card in a year full of them. The weigh-ins start at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT. Make sure to check back with Bleacher Report for a minute-by-minute update of everything that goes down—this page will be updated below.

UFC on FOX: Will There Ever Be a Dominant UFC Heavyweight Champion?

In his first ever title defense, Cain Velasquez lost his heavyweight championship title to Junior dos Santos just 1:04 into the first round.

Since the beginning of the UFC, the heavyweight crown has always been one of the most heavily contested, and hardest to hold on to, titles in the organization.

Velasquez did in fact hold the title for 385 days, but he only defended it once, and unfortunately in his first title defense he came up short.

There are a number of former heavyweight champions who have had the belt, but only a few have successfully defended the belt more than once.

It is without a doubt the hardest belt to defend within the UFC.

So will there ever be a dominant UFC heavyweight champion? Absolutely! MMA and the UFC are both still very young, and thinking there will never be one is ridiculous.

So far the most successful belt holder inside of the UFC is the middleweight, Anderson Silva. He has successfully defended his title nine times. It’s only a matter of time before a champion like Silva emerges in every weight class.

Georges St-Pierre is certainly that champion at welterweight, and perhaps Frankie Edgar will be that champion at lightweight, another highly contested weight class.

There has been lots of talk about Jon Jones moving up to heavyweight as he gets older and he absolutely stands a great chance of being a dominant champion in the division.

Junior dos Santos could even be that champion. He has showcased some incredible talent in his rise to the top and he made quick work of Velasquez.

So while the heavyweight title has changed hands quite a few times, a dominant champion will absolutely emerge as the sport matures. Someone just needs to figure out the puzzle.

Tonight at UFC on Fox 1 Clay Guida and Ben Henderson will face off for the No. 1 contender spot in the lightweight division.

The fight is sure to be exciting and is extremely hard to predict. Clay Guida has been a contender in the division for quite some time but has really started to shine since joining Greg Jackson’s gym.

If Guida walks away with the victory, it will be the first time he’s had a shot at the title. Many people don’t expect it to happen, but it would certainly set up some exciting events in the lightweight division.

If Henderson losses this fight, it could very likely set up another fight between himself and Anthony Pettis. Henderson and Pettis met in an extremely exciting fight in the former WEC organization.

It was a fight that many people missed, and a second one would be great to see.

If Clay Guida wins and gets the title shot against Frankie Edgar, it could very well be the first time we see a fighter who actually outpaces the champ.

Guida has insane pacing in his fights and never stops moving around making him hard to hit, even for a great boxer that is Edgar.

Edgar is known for having great conditioning, but putting him up against Guida would be a test unlike any other he’s had in the past. Edgar would most likely need to utilize his great wrestling if he couldn’t get Guida’s timing down.

A win from Guida would also mean that one of the UFC’s biggest fan favorites would finally be in title contention. Edgar would very likely be receiving more boos than he’s accustomed to.

No matter what happens, no one should miss this fight, but a win from Clay Guida would certainly set up some extremely interesting situations in the division.
