One mistake from Ryan Bader was all Anthony Johnson needed to finish their UFC on FOX 18 main event bout in Newark, as “Rumble” proceeded to ground-and-pound Bader into unconsciousness less than two minutes into their five-round fight. Bader had his opening takedown stuffed, he tried a kimura even though Johnson was on his back, and ended up in full mount seconds later. The destruction ensued and Johnson picked up another quick KO win. Here’s how the pros reacted to it on Twitter.

Top 5-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight contenders Anthony Johnson (No. 2) and Ryan Bader (No. 4) collided tonight (Sat., Jan 30, 2016) in the main event of UFC on FOX 18, which took place inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

And it didn’t last long. Just 86 seconds to be precise.

It was clear from the start that Bader wanted nothing to do with the concussive power of “Rumble,” diving for a takedown early to get the fight on his terms. However, Johnson sprawled and then circled to Bader’s back and patiently waited as “Darth” angled for a kimura. Johnson eventually shuffled him to the cage and popped his arm out, signaling the beginning of the end for Bader, who found himself in full mount with no options for realistic escape.

Bader covered his face from the incoming shots, but his gloves could not soften the savage shots of Johnson. In fact, the third one that landed seemed to make Bader go limp, illustrating once again that he is the most powerful puncher in the 205-pound division and perhaps the entire UFC.

He’s one very scary, scary dude, who will now most likely await the winner of the championship clash between Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones.

Here we go, it’s main event time in Newark, New Jersey, as title hopefuls Ryan Bader and Anthony Johnson will throw down at UFC on FOX 18. The winner could well be facing the result of Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier by the end of the year.

Round 1: Johnson’s looking really intense here as Bruce Buffer announces him, The Rock is buzzing as they square off. Bader shoots, gets stuffed and Johnson takes his back, wow! Bader looks for the kimura and now ‘Rumble’ is in a great position, Bader could be in trouble here, Johnson in full mount. Johnson pounding him, this is nearly done, Bader is done. Fights over, Johnson by TKO that was crazy quick, Bader was out cold!

Rumble Johnson defeats Ryan Bader by TKO (strikes) and he was sleeping. The referee had to explain what happened. Insanity as Johnson moves to 10 knockouts in the UFC to tie Chuck Liddell at third in most T/KO’s in UFC history.

Wow, looks like it’s back to the drawing board for UFC lightweight prospect Sage Northcutt. His late replacement opponent Bryan Barberena also trolled ‘Super’ Sage right after the fight…

Sage Northcutt returned for the third time to the UFC octagon tonight, moving up to welterweight on short notice to face replacement underdog Bryan Barbernera. Few expected ‘Bam Bam’ to make much of a fight out of this one, but boy, he did just that.

Northcutt looked athletic nd explosive in the opening round, but was visibly slowed by the second round. Similar to the Rockhold vs Weidman fight recently, the beginning of the end came from a poorly telegraphed kick.

As Barbernera took the fight to the ground, it was clear that Northcutt had nothing for him offensively or defensively. Elbows were landing with high frequency, and then came the moment no-one expected.

The choke didn’t appear to be in, as ‘Bam Bam’ was both in half guard and on the wrong side, and Joe Rogan questioned whether Sage tapped too early. Barberena also trolled Northcutt’s flip after his fiery post fight interview.

Popular heavyweights collide in the form of former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett and loud mouthed knockout striker ‘Big’ Ben Rothwell at UFC on FOX 18…

Josh Barnett and Ben Rothwell now as the co-main event of the UFC on FOX 18 main card in New Jersey.

Round 1: Rothwell circles Barnett, lands a right hand, Barnett rarely the smaller guy, but is looking a lot more trim here. Rothwell eats a right hand, nice low kick for ‘Big Ben,’ Barnett looks calm. Nice kicks by Rothwell here, Barnett with some stiff jabs. A lot of stalling, the crowd boos. Close round.

Round 2: Mpore striking exchanges here, but it’s a bit of a slow burner this one. Lots of missed strikes from both heavyweights, Rothwell wings some kicks. Nice body kick by ‘Warmaster,’ but someone needs to push for the finish in this lull. Barnett in on a single but he falls in to a choke. Barnett taps out to Rothwell due to front choke, WOW!

Ben Rothwell by submission over Josh Barnett in round 2, this is nuts!

New Jersey native Jimmie Rivera pulled off the unanimous decision victory over Iuri Alcantara at UFC on FOX 18.

Jimmie Rivera had the pressure of fighting in front of a home crowd on Fox against a veteran fighter in Iuri Alcantara. The New Jersey native was looking for the big victory to extend his UFC record to a perfect 3-0.

The fight opened with a very aggressive Rivera backing Alcantara against the cage with feints. Alcantara kept the distance with the kicks and feints, doing a good job at dodging Rivera’s punches and catching his kicks. Rivera was able to get through with several hard punches, but Alcanatara did a good job of rolling with the punches and deflecting the punches. The first round ended with a big takedown attempt from Rivera, picking up Alcantara and slamming him to the mat right before the horn sounded.

In the second round, Rivera caught Alcantara with a big punch against the cage, which stunned Alcantara for a split second. Rivera continued to land hard punches while pressuring Alcantara against the cage. After clinching against the cage for a couple of minutes, the referee separated them and brought them to the middle.  Moments later, Alcantara dropped Rivera with a straight right hand. Rivera popped right back up and responded with a quick takedown before the round ended.

In the third round, more of the same occurred as Rivera pressured Alcantara, who was doing a better job at moving out of the way of punches. Towards the middle of the third round, Alcantara threw a series of kicks to the body of Rivera that had Rivera retreating. The two fighters continued to exchange with Rivera controlling the center of the cage and being the aggressor. In a wild sequence, Alcantara dropped Rivera with a straight punch, but Rivera popped back up and got the takedown, which was reversed with a kimura attempt by Alcantara until both fighters were back to their feet. Both fighters exchanged with wild punches until the horn sounded.

Jimmie Rivera def Iuri Alcantara by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
