We swear this is not a story from The Onion.

Yes, you read the headline correctly.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is going to be part of the circus that is the Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort/Anderson Silva vs. Tito Ortiz Triller pay-per-view on Saturday, September 11th.

Trump won’t be on the main broadcast, but for those who want to pay $50 to watch the Triller event, there’s an alternative feed that will feature special commentary from both Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr.

“I love great fighters and great fights. I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event,” said Trump in the official press release.

Both Trump and Trump Jr will be in-person at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL. Previously this was going to be Oscar De La Hoya against the former UFC champion, but De La Hoya tested positive for COVID-19 and in stepped the 58-year-old Holyfield. California did not entertain the idea of licensing Holyfield to compete in a professional bout, but you better believe Florida said yes.

The actual broadcast will feature former HBO Boxing voice Jim Lampley and Shawn Porter on commentary.

There’s nothing really more to add, is there?

UFC President Dana White wasn’t sure if Calvin Kattar would make it home after getting beaten to a pulp by Max Holloway.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White was not confident that Calvin Kattar would make it out alive after a thorough beating at the hands of Max Holloway.

Holloway vs. Kattar headlined UFC on ABC, which took place inside Etihad Arena at Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. on Sat., Jan. 16. “Blessed” lit up Kattar on the feet (watch highlights) and earned an avalanche-like unanimous decision (50-43, 50-43, 50-42). A behind-the-scenes video reveals just how gruesome the fight looked to White.

“He took so much f—king punishment in this fight, I’m freaking out a little bit. I don’t know. I don’t like it. This reminds me of the kind of fight where the fights over and he walks in the back and f—king dies. I think f—king Herb Dean should have stopped it in the fourth round. He was wobbling all over the f—king place,” White told UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell. “He should have stopped the fight right there.

“When this fights over, no stopping, no talking. Get this kid in the ambulance and get him the f—k out of here.”

White subsequently walked over to Kattar’s coaching staff.

“Hey guys, guys. I want him out of here. Don’t talk to anybody and go right to the f—king hospital.”

And debriefed with UFC commentator and former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier.

“I’m just a little worried about him. That was a f—king war,” White reiterated to Cormier. “It should have been stopped in the fourth round.”

Kattar (22-5) has not fought since suffering the loss to former UFC Featherweight champion Holloway. “Blessed” is rumored to fight Yair Rodriguez at a UFC Fight Night on Nov. 13 after their previously scheduled fight in July fell apart.

Bantamweight Marlon Moraes intends to end Merab Dvalishvili’s hype at UFC 266,

Bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes does not plan on letting rising contender Merab Dvalishivili use him as a stepping stone.

Paired up against the Georgian for an intriguing scrap at UFC 266, ‘Magic’ expects to finish his opponent before he gets taken down to the mat.

In an interview with Ag Fight, Moraes sang Merab’s praises, especially his wrestling prowess. However, Marlon says that if Dvalishvili intends to smother him on the ground, he better do it before the Brazilian has a chance to put his hands on the ‘Machine.’

“I’ve only fought the best, so my chance of winning or losing is the same,” Moraes said. “My goal is to fight the best. He’s a hot prospect, he has great wrestling. He controls you well on the ground, uses ground and pound, has beautiful takedowns. He holds a record in takedowns. He better take me down quickly.

“My intention is to go out there and dominate,” he added. “I want to show everyone what I can do and I’m sure I’ll knock him out. He’s a tough athlete, but I trust my potential. I know that I have a challenge ahead of me. There’s a reason he’s here today, he’s beaten some tough guys. But I have the tools to beat him and I’m sure that I’m going to do just that. Sometimes a guy might be too thirsty, that opens gaps that I can exploit, both on the ground and standing up.”

Currently on a two-fight losing skid, Marlon (23-8-1) suffered heavy losses to Cory Sandhagen and Rob Font in his last couple of outings. Before that, the 33-year-old had picked up a split decision victory over Jose Aldo, back in December 2019.

Now, Moraes is expected to take on Dvalishvili at UFC 266, on September 25, in Las Vegas. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a featherweight title fight between the champion, Alexander Volkanovski, and challenger Brian Ortega.

Legendary boxing trainer and longtime analyst Teddy Atlas has dove into the world of MMA in recent years, especially with the UFC’s rise in popularity. He recently praised one of the UFC’s brightest young stars, Paddy Pimblett for his impressive debut against Luigi Vendramini at UFC Vegas 36 last weekend.

The 65-year-old Atlas remains an important part of the media circle when it comes to boxing, and his opinions on MMA hold merit as well. He hosts his own podcast and makes frequent appearances on ESPN’s programming breaking down upcoming fights in boxing and MMA.

During a recent appearance on The Fight with Teddy Atlas, he gave the former Cage Warriors champion Pimblett high-praise and is excited to see where his UFC career goes from here.

“This Pimblett, his chin is extraordinary,” Atlas said. “I mean it’s granite. And he didn’t give any sign for the guy to have a chance to jump on him. So, I think maybe a star is born because first of all, it’s not just about being great… It’s about being able to sell yourself. It’s about being an attraction. A star… He’s got that big following. You can see why… That’s the way to make a debut.”

It wasn’t a completely flawless performance by Pimblett ahead of his knockout against Vendramini, who hit him with some big shots early in the fight. Despite the early barrage, Pimblett was able to withstand the pressure and win his debut, to the delight of Atlas and many others.

Pimblett is a potential future superstar in the making in the UFC, after a successful run in Cage Warriors. It’ll be interesting to see if he fights once more before the end of the year.

What do you think about Paddy Pimblett’s potential?

Tito Ortiz

Tito Ortiz is just days away from making his highly-anticipated walk to the ring to fight Anderson Silva, but he has quite the fight on the scales leading up to the fight this weekend. Ortiz will be making his professional boxing debut after a long career in MMA which included a reign at the UFC light heavyweight champion.

Ortiz and Silva will battle in the ring at a catchweight of 195 pounds, despite Ortiz fighting a majority of his career at 205 pounds and Silva having a brief run at light heavyweight in the UFC. Despite his protests regarding the weight details, Ortiz agreed to the bout at Silva’s desired weight.

Ortiz will need to cut a substantial amount of weight to be able to fight against Silva at 195 pounds, as he detailed during a recent social media post.

“I gotta get down to 195. I’m probably in the 212 department, 211lbs, around that,” Ortiz said. “Feel great, though. Had a good day working with Jason Parillo and Jay Silva. We did some light sparring. I hope [Silva] is ready for a fight. I’m not coming there to collect a paycheck. I’m coming there to collect a win, get a W, take some names, kick some ass.”

Ortiz seems confident in being able to compete at a high level in his first appearance in the boxing ring, but he’ll more than likely need a brutal weight cut beforehand. After a brief run competing in Bellator, Ortiz retired from the sport before coming out of retirement to face Alberto El Patron at Combate Americas 51.

This will be Silva’s second boxing fight in 2021, after beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. earlier this year by split decision. He made the full-time transition to boxing after recently struggling in the UFC middleweight division.

It’ll be fascinating to watch how Ortiz is able to combat the challenges of weight cutting, especially during this latter stage of his athletic career.

What are your thoughts on Tito Ortiz’s expected brutal weight cut?
