Surefire UFC Hall of Famer fighter B.J. Penn isn’t ready to hang up the gloves. In fact, according to Tuesday night’s UFC Tonight, the former dual-division champion is priming himself for a return to 155 pounds.

This news comes only weeks after Dana White told the viewers of the UFC 160 press conference that he feels as if “The Prodigy” should hang up his gloves for good.

He’s too tough for his own good.  You don’t knock out B.J. Penn.  B.J. Penn absorbs every amount of punishment you can give him, doesn’t mean he hasn’t taken damage.  He’s taken a lot of damage and I don’t want to see him take anymore.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with White’s assessment, this Hawaiian tough guy is heading back to the cage and in need of an opponent. Here is a look at five fights for B.J. Penn to take at lightweight.

With 160 going into the history books as one of the most exciting pay-per-view in recent memory, the UFC has their work cut out for them if they hope to top it. On Wednesday, the UFC released the official video preview for their next PPV offering: UFC 161.

Top names from the light heavyweight division dominate the top of the card as Rashad Evans meets Dan Henderson in the main event and Shogun Rua rematches Antonio Nogueira shortly before.

Considering that each of the quartet of dangerous strikers has their fare share of knockouts inside the Octagon, you can imagine the sort of concussion-inducing highlights that this preview includes.

Suspiciously absent from the preview is any mention of a heavyweight collision between Roy Nelson and Stipe Miocic.

Nelson was added to the UFC 161 card on short notice after the original main event between Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland was called off. With the late loss of a title fight, the event needed the sort of supplemental star power that “Big Country” could provide.

In fact, Nelson’s appearance was deemed necessary enough that a fight between Miocic and Soa Palelei was scrapped in order to give the Ultimate Fighter winner an opponent.

Also on the main card is a women’s bantamweight matchup between Alexis Davis and Rosi Sexton, as well as a heavyweight scrap between Pat Barry and Shawn Jordan. The latter duo are both coming off of riveting knockout victories.

UFC 161 takes place on Saturday, June 15 at the MTS Center in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada.

UFC Veteran Che Mills Misses Weight at Cage Warriors 55

This is not the best year for British striker Che Mills. In February, the fearsome muay thai machine was released from the UFC. Now he has missed weight for what was originally scheduled as a title fight, according to CageWarriors.com.

On Saturday night, Mills headlines Cage Warriors 55 against welterweight champion Cathal Pendred. However, with the failed attempt to make weight, the fight has been changed to a three-round, non-title matchup.

Mills originally weighed in at 171.2 pounds for the 170-pound affair. Given an extra two hours, the Ultimate Fighter vet couldn’t complete the task, and will surrender 25 percent of his purse to Pendred.

After a 2-1 (1) run inside the Octagon, the Zuffa release of British striker Che Mills came on the heels of a loss against Matt Riddle, who grinded him out at UFC on Fuel TV 7. The loss was overturned into a No Contest after Riddle tested positive for marijuana.

Before the matchup with Riddle, Mills turned in a dominant performance over Duane Ludwig. That fight officially ended due to a knee injury suffered by Ludwig, but make no mistake, Mills had “Bang” in the pressure cooker.

Opponent Cathal Pendred, who once trained at Team AKA in San Jose, is 6-0-1 in his last seven appearances. A win over Mills would be the biggest of his career, and could earn him the Joe Silva phone call that he has been waiting for.

Cage Warriors 55 airs live on Saturday, June 1 from The Helix in Dublin, Ireland. Two fights from the preliminary card will air on the CWFC Facebook page, and the five-fight main card airs for free over at MMAJunkie.com.
