Twit Pic of the Week: A Tribute to Naked UFC Ring Girls

Retweeted by UFC Octagon Girl, Brittney Palmer.  Palmer replied, “that’s so sweet.”  We at MMAFix have a less flattering take on the picture. We can only imagine some dude getting ready for some alone time in his bathroom. Crikey, what does he need four magazines for?  Is he planning to be locked up for awhile? […]

We can only imagine some dude getting ready for some alone time in his bathroom. Crikey, what does he need four magazines for?  Is he planning to be locked up for awhile? Does he practice tantric masturbation?  Is this the poor man’s version of group sex?  Yes, Brittney, how sweet:

Jon Jones So Crazy Over Bader He’s Turning Into Diego Sanchez

Ben Fowlkes of MMAFighting wrote an article today exposing Jon “Bones” Jones newfound obsession with his UFC 126 opponent, Ryan Bader.  He says he has not only obtained the usual training visual aids like Bader’s previous fight footage, but he’s acquired interviews with Bader and a recent fan Q and A session that he’s been watching […]

Ben Fowlkes of MMAFighting wrote an article today exposing Jon “Bones” Jones newfound obsession with his UFC 126 opponent, Ryan Bader.  He says he has not only obtained the usual training visual aids like Bader’s previous fight footage, but he’s acquired interviews with Bader and a recent fan Q and A session that he’s been watching around the clock in order to calculate Bader’s mental state coming into their fight.  Oddly enough, the Greg Jackson camp which Jones is apart of, just released this video of him via Twitter showing his current mental state, which seems to be on par with the mentally stable, Diego Sanchez.

In the video below, Jones performs the famous “Sanchez Cartwheel” and gives his version of the “Yes” chant which Sanchez says he adopted from Self-Help Guru, Tony Robbins.

Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader is just a few weeks away, taking place in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay on February 5th.

UFC held a press conference in New York City’s Madison Square Garden to announce their commitment to hold two annual UFC events in New York, once the sport is regulated in the state. Dana White and Zuffa CEO, Lorenzo Fertitta sat alongside, Jersey’s own Frankie Edgar who is the current UFC Lightweight Champion and Scott O’Neil, President of Madison Square Garden Sports to reveal their plans for New York and present an in depth economic study they’ve performed which shows the positive impact MMA events would have on the city. A press release from the UFC promotion stated:

The study found that holding two UFC events in the state (one at Madison Square Garden and one in Buffalo) will create roughly $16 million in new spending. Additionally, the study found smaller MMA operators will likely hold events that would bring an additional $4 million. In total, $23 million of annual new spending and hundreds of new jobs will be created in the local economy by regulating MMA.

Lorenzo Fertitta went on to say “We’ve done similar economic studies in major cities such as Boston, Las Vegas and Philadelphia and each showed the substantial positive impact hosting a UFC event has on the local economy. This study shows that by regulating MMA, New York can reap the economic benefits statewide.”

Strikeforce President, Scott Coker announced today that Alistair Overeem’s Heavyweight Title is not on the line during the eight-man Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tournament. Instead, there will be a separate Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion and Tournament Champion. The winner of the tournament will then go on to fight Overeem for the Strikeforce Heavyweight belt, unless the winner of the tournament is Overeem. In such case, Coker says:

“If Overeem wins, he’s not just the best MMA or K-1 fighter, he can say he’s the greatest martial arts fighter in the world,”

That is, in a world without Georges St. Pierre, Cain Velasquez, Anderson Silva
