On the heels of the Rafael dos Anjos injury news, Jackson-Wink MMA is letting it be known Donald Cerrone is ready to face Conor McGregor.
Early Tuesday morning it was reported that dos Anjos, the reigning UFC lightweight champion, suffered a broken foot in training for his UFC 196 bout vs. McGregor. The injury will keep him sidelined through March, but his most recent opponent appears ready.
Cerrone is coming off a first round finish of Alex Oliveira this past weekend, and has made it known he would relish the opportunity to face McGregor, who currently holds the UFC featherweight strap.

Wanderlei Silva might not be cleared to compete in the U.S. until 2017, but that does not mean his services are being forgotten.
“The Axe Murderer” recently told Combate out of Brazil that “the possibility of being able to fight again means a lot to me.”
During a hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission earlier this month, Silva was given a three-year ban retroactive to 2014. He eluded a drug test at that time, while he was under contract to the UFC. Originally, the commission banned him for life, but that was also later overturned.
Now that the UFC has severed ties with the Brazilian, he is clear to seek work elsewhere.
Last week, Silva appeared at a fan-fest event in Houston for Bellator to promote a show.
“I had a meeting with Nobuyuki Sakakibara, and he’s super interested in bringing me back to Japan,” Silva said. “He said Japanese are anxious to see me compete again. We’re also flirting with Bellator. They want to make a deal together so I can fight in Japan and here in the United State, and I would fight for both promotions (Rizin and Bellator).”
Silva revealed that his heart is truly set on competing in Japan again, adding that Rizin has already offered him a jiu-jitsu match, two vs. two and a possible tournament bout.
“That’s the plan for 2016,” he said. “The Japanese promotion created Wanderlei Silva.”
As for that potential match with former heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko, Silva appears to remain very interested.
“There’s a possibility of fighting Fedor, who is an opponent I would really like to fight,” he said. “I’m not just talking, but can’t be the first one, right? Now that I haven’t fought in two years, I can’t get him right away. I need to do some fights first, get my rhythm back and when the promotion things it’s time and I feel I’m in a good rhythm, I would really want to test myself against him.”
For years, Silva and Emelianenko ruled Pride in Japan. However, their paths never crossed at that time.

Travis Browne and Ronda Rousey are likely the biggest power couple in mixed martial arts right now.
The UFC heavyweight and former female bantamweight champion revealed their relationship last year, and now, following comments made by Rousey declaring how important Browne was in her “darkest” moment, “Hapa” is doing the same.
“I was there to support her any way I could,” said Browne, in an interview with Activ8Media.com recently. “Just like any man would do for his woman. We go through dark times and we need someone to lean on. I hate the fact that she had to go through that dark time, but like she said, it happened for a reason.
“It means a lot that somebody would look at me in that way, especially Ronda. She’s such a sweetheart. She’s a great fighter, athlete and a big movie star; but what impresses me most is the woman that she is. She is who she is 100-percent of the time and I respect that about her.”
Browne was the first to comment on the relationship to the general public, as it came on the heels of a messy breakup with his former wife, who he has two children with.
“We love each other and I’m just glad I could be there for her,” Browne said. “That’s what a partner is there for. They are there for support whenever you need them, for good and bad.”
After suffering a TKO loss to Andrei Arlovski last May, Browne (18-3-1) rebounded in January with a third round finish of Matt Mitrione. He is 5-2 over his last seven fights.
As for Rousey, she’s been doing the media circuit after her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover was revealed. The former U.S. Olympic bronze medalist is expected to film several movie roles early this year before returning – likely in November – to take on the winner of Holly Holm-Miesha Tate for the title.
