Ever since he was defeated by Anderson Silva in the fifth and final round at UFC 117, Chael Sonnen has become arguably the most popular man in all of sports.

In fact, Sonnen’s been seen just about everywhere calling out Silva for a potential rematch.

His Twitter, The Jim Rome Show and even National pay-per-view television have all been platforms for his opinions.

One thing’s for sure: Sonnen’s put forth his best effort in doing everything he can possibly do to make the rematch happen.

And, while Sonnen may be at the top of the trash talking totem pole, he recently had some competition approach his thrown.

That man is none other than Nick Diaz.

Diaz, who’s always been considered one of the top trash talkers in sport of mixed martial arts, took it to a whole new level following his win against BJ Penn at UFC 137.

In his post fight interview Diaz addressed the highly talked about knee injury that George St-Pierre endured in training leading up to his bout at UFC 137.

Diaz stated,

“I don’t think Georges is hurt. I think he’s scared.”

Diaz went on to add,

“He’s scared to fight everyone right now.”

After trash talking one of the greatest fighters of all time, fans across the UFC began to compare Diaz with Sonnen.

Which leads us to one question, who is the better trash talker?

In order to determine this we broke the trash talking down into three main categories.

Length of trash talking

While Sonnen’s made it known to the world how he feels about Silva since his loss at UFC 117, Diaz has been trash talking for a long time, despite flying under the radar for most of it.

Advantage: Diaz

More humorous

While some UFC fans may find Diaz quite funny, it’s hard to compare to the remarks made by Sonnen. Not only are Sonnen’s statements down right hilarious, he says them with a straight face.

Advantage: Sonnen

Makes it personal

There’s no denying that St-Pierre probably took Diaz’s comments to heart in his post fight interview at UFC 137. But, it’s hard to compare Diaz’s statements to that of Sonnen’s, as he’s gone as far to insult Silva’s wife.

Advantage: Sonnen

And the winner by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) and still the greatest trash talker of all time, Chael Sonnen .

Dana White on Gay UFC Fighters: I Wish They’d Come Out

Over the course of the past five years specifically, the sport of mixed martial arts has evolved into the world’s fastest growing sport. A major reason for the sport’s growth lies on the shoulders of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC has been the center stage for fighters all across the world, giving them an opportunity to make a career doing what they love.

And, as we know, every fighter is different in interests, personalities and even sexual orientation.

Well, Dana White recently addressed the issue of gay fighters in the UFC.

In an interview, White stated, “I’ll tell you right now, if there was a gay fighter in UFC, I wish he would come out.”

White went on to welcome any fighters who may be gay, stating, “I could care less if there’s a gay fighter in the UFC. There probably is, and there’s probably more than one.”

As we know, White may welcome gay fighters with open arms now, but this hasn’t always been the case.

A few years back, White was seen using anti-gay slurs but addressed his past remarks, “If you guys look at all the stuff that I’ve said over the last 10 years — some of it stupid, some of it whatever — that’s the one that bothers me. That’s the only one that bothers me.”

In the process of making up for his past, White is asking all UFC fighters to announce their sexual orientation, as they won’t be judged, nor will it affect their fighting careers.

Over the past few months, there has been speculation that Anderson Silva‘s career could be coming to an end within the next year or two.

In fact, Silva’s trainer Ed Soares recently stated that Silva would fight four more times before calling it quits to a historical mixed martial arts career.

Well, that news changed when ESPN.com recently revealed that not only would Silva fight this year, but a total of seven more years.

Yes, seven more years.

Silva addressed his decision to prolong his already spectacular career when he stated,

“I’ll fight for another six or seven years and then I’ll stop.”

Silva went on to add,

“I stopped to think about it and I’ll postpone my retirement for a little longer. Then I’ll think about TV.”

This change in events will have the UFC Middleweight champion in contract to the year 2018, where Silva will be 43 years old.

And as expected, Silva went on to address the overpopulated topic of his rematch with Chael Sonnen in the near future.

Silva stated,

“I believe he shouldn’t be on the sport, because he has no emotional control. While trying to provoke me, he makes the sport looks bad. He made bad comments, offended me and my wife.”

UFC fans across the globe now have reason to be excited, as arguably the world’s greatest fighter in Anderson Silva will fight for another seven years.

Nick Diaz entered the Octagon at UFC 137 for what would end up being the biggest victory of his mixed martial arts career.

Despite being beaten in Round 1, Diaz bounced back with two historical rounds to defeat the UFC legend in BJ Penn via Unanimous Decision.

Following his hand being raised, Diaz went to his short interview with Joe Rogan and called out current Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

Diaz stated,

“I don’t think Georges is hurt; I think he’s scared.”

Diaz went on to add,

“I think he’s scared to fight everybody right now.”

And, while Diaz is viewed as the “bad guy” by many fans across the globe, he addressed this issue in his post fight press conference.

Diaz said,

“I got to come off like that just to get a fight.”

“I got to be the bad guy, got to point the finger– make me the bad guy, now I’m the bad guy, and now I got a fight.”

While Diaz addressed being the bad guy, his main focus seemed to be on the money.

“I run by run hundreds of these nice, huge houses with these big yards and fountains everywhere. These people have their little picnic patio, little side yard, little pool.”

“I go back into my neighborhood where my car gets robbed, got some dude out in front of my house lookin’ for cigarette buds. It’s ridiculous”

UFC President Dana White responded to Diaz’s comments by stating,

“I don’t know how much houses cost up there, but bro, you got enough money to move.”

The press conference highlights runs 15:48 and is filled with all the up-to-date information regarding the life of Nick Diaz.
