In the lead-up to UFC 145, Evans mentioned not having the same passion for the sport he once did, and this could be the beginning of the end for the legendary light-heavyweight.

After dismantling a tough opponent in Che Mills at UFC 145, MacDonald proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with in the UFC’s welterweight division.

But let’s not rush him into title contention just yet, folks.

He is still young, and he could still benefit from some mid-tier fights to fine-tune his game and bolster his comfort level inside the Octagon.

The dream heavyweight matchup between former UFC bad boy Brock Lesnar and former No. 1 heavyweight in the world Fedor Emelianenko is finally coming to life.

Well, in these slides anyway.  

Just two short years ago, this was a matchup that had MMA fans drooling puddles of anticipation and would have decided the undisputed king of the heavyweight division.  

Since that time, each fighter has fallen off the map a bit (Lesnar due to consecutive whippings and retirement; Fedor due to three consecutive beatings in a rough span that began in 2010), but it is fair to say that television sets across the world would still eagerly tune in to see these two legends square off in the Octagon (or ring, if Fedor gets his way).

They’re sensational athletes.

They’re former training partners.

They’ve been talking trash for months.

But all of this, I’m afraid, won’t save the bout from mediocrity.  As much as I hate to say it, Jones vs. Evans has the potential to be an absolute snooze fest of a title fight.
