No. 3-ranked Fabricio Werdum defeated No. 8-ranked Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via second-round submission. The victory moved him closer to a potential title shot against the winner of Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.

The heavyweight division continues to get better and better with each passing month. We are beginning to see more development in the division, and the UFC is reaping the benefits.

The first event comes to you from Brazil. UFC on Fuel TV 10 features Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in a heavyweight showdown. The rematch has significant ramifications in the division, and should Werdum win, he could be next in line for the UFC heavyweight championship.

Twelve other fights are happening at UFC on Fuel 10. It will be a good evening of action.

UFC 161 happens one week later. After injuries have altered the card, it is less enticing, but the main event will still deliver. Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson go toe-to-toe to try and reclaim past contender status.

UFC on Fuel TV 10 kicks things off next weekend with a heavyweight rematch between Minotauro Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum. The top 10 ranked heavyweights will try to state their case to be thrown in to title contention.

One week later the UFC hits Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for UFC 161. The interim bantamweight championship was scheduled to be defended, but an injury to Renan Barao postponed that fight. Now, Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson will throw down with Jon Jones in their sights.

There is plenty of other action scheduled, and these are the contenders and pretenders who will show themselves as summer heats up.
