Anderson Silva‘s wife, Dayane Silva, is okay with Chael Sonnen coming to the family barbeque, as long as he keeps his hands to himself.
For months, Sonnen has taunted Dayane (via MMA show) with jokes about “patting her on the ass” and having her fix him a “medium rare steak.”
He even paraded around UFC events wearing a t-shirt with the words “medium rare” written across the front in bold lettering.
The jokes came to an abrupt end at UFC 148, at least for Sonnen.
Anderson defended his wife’s honor by scoring a second round TKO stoppage over Sonnen in arguably the biggest fight in UFC history.
In his post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Anderson invited Sonnen to his house for a barbeque.
Chael disrespected my country, but it’s fine. Let’s show that Brazil has manners. I want everyone to applaud Chael. If you’d like to have a barbecue at my house, I’d love to have you over for a barbeque.
After a prolonged silence, Dayane finally opened up about how she felt about Sonnen’s comments and Anderson’s barbeque invite.
“I loved Anderson’s answers after the fight,” Dayane told SporTV through Google translation. “Come on, Chael. You can come to the barbeque. You just can’t touch my butt. For me, it was Anderson’s best victory. Chael shouldn’t have talked about me. It was the worst thing he did.”
Perhaps, Dayane is right.
Anderson, who is usually quiet and subdued, threatened to “change the image of the sport” and “break all of Sonnen’s limbs and teeth” at the UFC 148 Media Call.
Sonnen may want to take out the R-Kelly CD. He won’t be feeling on any booties in the Silva household.
On the bright side, he’ll finally get that steak he’s been craving.
