Ex-UFC champion Ji?í Procházka enters three-day isolation without food or light ahead of next fight

Ji?í Procházka’s training methods are highly unusual, but you can’t argue with their results.

Following his impressive second-round comeback KO against Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300, the former light heavyweight champion is already preparing for his next outing inside the Octagon. Taking to social media, ‘BJP’ revealed that he would undergo three days of complete isolation with no food or electricity of any kind — including light.

“3 days. No Light. No Food. Pure Focus. Pure Training. Preparation can start NOW,” Procházka wrote on X.

Jiri Prochazka

It’s nothing out of the ordinary for Procházka who has typically engaged in non-traditional training methods like using trees as heavy bags, traveling trails, and getting lost in the freezing mountains of Las Vegas for an incredible 18 hours.

Ji?í Procházka primed for rematch with alex pereira

No official announcement has been made regarding Ji?í Procházka’s next fight, but all signs point to it being a rematch with current 205-pound king Alex Pereira.

Jiri Procházka

Poatan’ scored a second-round knockout against Procházka at UFC 295 in November, claiming the vacant light heavyweight title. Since then, Pereira has bagged his first defense, dispatching another former champion — Jamahal Hill — in a matter of minutes at the promotion’s landmark event in April.

Pereira was expected to put his title on the line against Magomed Ankalaev, but with the Russian challenger wanting to push things off until the fall, Pereira is opting to stay busy, lobbying for a rematch with Procházka instead.

Darren Till confirms plans for UFC return after Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight I'm going to win a title

Darren Till says he will fight in the UFC again and vows to win UFC gold before his career is up.

Till asked for his release from the UFC after his loss to Dricus Du Plessis in 2022. Since then, he has not fought, but he will make his boxing debut on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson undercard against Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. in an intriguing matchup.

According to Till, the plan is to box for two years as he wants to see how far he can go in boxing.

“I think two years,” Till said on the MMA Hour. “I’m going to do two years in boxing, I’m going to make millions and millions, and then I’m going to say, ‘Guys, you said I could come back at any time. Can I? Give me one or two fights. I’ve been in Russia for 12 months now just wrestling, wrestling. Or Brazil. Give me a chance now. My knee is OK. And if I go in and my chance fails, it fails.”

“If I go in and I win a title, I’ll say on the mic, ‘I’ve won the title. I’m the best in the world right now. See you later. Bon voyage!’ I’m manifesting this. I manifested a lot of things. I also manifested a lot of bad things in the UFC, but I’m manifesting this now and I think about it every day.”

If Till does defeat Chavez Jr. it would set him up for a big fight in boxing, as he wants to become a world champion in boxing.

Darren Till vows to become UFC champion

Not only does Darren Till want to become a champion in boxing but he also is confident he will hold UFC gold before his career is over.

Although Till is 1-5 in MMA in his last six fights, he knows when he returns to the UFC he will be fully healthy which will be a big difference for him. With Darren Till healthy, he believes he has all the tools to win a UFC title.

“I’m going to win a UFC belt,” Darren Till said. “I’m going to win a UFC title. I speak to the UFC bosses all the time. … I’m going to come into this boxing scene in a storm, then I’m going to go back to the UFC and get a title. Then I’m going to say, ‘Right, I’ve done it. I was one of the best. Cheers.’ And you can say I’m not going to, but I’ve solely got my sights on making a whole lot of money and beating up a few dudes, which I am 100 percent going to do. I don’t think they’ll be able to lay a hand on me. I really don’t.”

Till did fight for a UFC title in his career but he suffered a submission loss to Tyron Woodley in 2019 which was his first career loss.

That’s according to fantasy matchmaker and former UFC champion Daniel Cormier.

Win or lose, Conor McGregor won’t be short on options after UFC 303.

That’s according to former two-division champion, Daniel Cormier, who is already matchmaking for “Notorious” ahead of the Irishman’s return against Michael Chandler in the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on June 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Assuming McGregor doesn’t retire (again) when the dust settles in “Sin City.”

“If he gets through Michael Chandler, I say give him a title fight,” Cormier said on his ESPN show “Good Guy/Bad Guy” with Chael Sonnen (transcribed by MMA Junkie). “Put him in there with (Dustin) Poirier or (Islam) Makhachev on Mexican Independence Day or some time soon thereafter. If he loses, put him in there with Tony Ferguson. Tony Ferguson deserves to have that big platform the last time to see if he can go and do what he said he was going to do to Conor all of those times and so long ago.”

Makhachev will defend his lightweight title against Poirier at UFC 302 on June 1.

Beating Chandler at welterweight is not enough to warrant a lightweight title shot; however, McGregor is the biggest draw in all of mixed martial arts (MMA) so merit goes out the window when it comes to the 155-pound rankings (see the division Top 15 right here).

As for Ferguson, who was close to securing a “McNuggets” fight before his late-career collapse, he’s now 40 years old and coming off seven straight losses. That said, a defiant “El Cucuy” has no plans to retire from combat sports because he’s “barely hitting his prime.”

Brock tease.

Is Elle Brooke related to Brock Lesnar?

No, but the Misfits Boxing 15 headliner and adult film star claims fans see a “strong resemblance” between “Dumbledong” and the former UFC heavyweight champion. That’s why Brooke tried to enlist Lesnar for her Kingpyn Boxing debut back in late 2022.

Unfortunately, Lesnar does not come cheap.

“Just TikTok my name, and you’ll see me being ‘memed’ as him,” Brooke told Jaack Maate’s Happy Hour (transcribed by IBT). “Literally they all call me Brock Lesnar all the time. I actually DM’ed Paul Heyman trying to get Brock Lesnar, and he wanted a seven-figure salary per song and a private jet, and I was like, ‘I can’t afford that.’”

She probably couldn’t afford it because Kingpyn Boxing never paid her.

Brooke, 26, will defend her Misfits middleweight title when she collides with former UFC strawweight Paige VanZant as part of the “X Series” boxing card on Sat. night (May 25) at NRG Arena in Houston, with Le’Veon Bell battling Tristan Hamm in the co-main event.

Another day, another brutal Greg Hardy knockout.

After exiting the UFC with a middling 4-5 record and three-straight losses via KO, ‘The Prince of War’ has found little success in the world of boxing. Recently, the former NFL defensive end took another L while competing on a Team Combat League show against Patrick Mailata.

In the video clip, which you can see below, Hardy eats a hard combination against the ropes before crashing to the canvas in spectacular fashion.

Greg Hardy’s string of brutal KO losses continues

At one point, Greg Hardy was thought to be the next big thing in the UFC’s heavyweight division. After scoring back-to-back sub-one-minute KOs on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018, Hardy earned notable wins over Dmitry Smolyakov, Juan Adams, Yorgan De Castro, and Maurice Greene inside the Octagon.

Seemingly ready for a step up in competition, the Millington, Tennessee native was matched up with Marcin Tybura at a Fight Night event in December 2020. Hardy went down in the second round, suffering the first knockout loss of his career.

He followed that up with a pair of brutal losses against Tai Tuivasa and Serghei Spivac before being shown the door.

He also came up short in his lone appearance with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, going down 19 seconds into the second round against Josh Watson at the promotion’s third-annual KnuckleMania event.
