Floyd Mayweather was widely regarded as the winner of the first day of the Mayweather vs. McGregor World Tour and part of the reason for that was Conor McGregor‘s microphone being shut off halfway through the event.

That didn’t sit well with the Irishman, and he let everyone know about it on day two. Shortly after taking the microphone, he tore into Showtime (the event’s promoter) and stepped towards network executive Stephen Espinoza before calling him a number of names. For what it’s worth, Showtime released a statement on Wednesday saying that it had nothing to do with McGregor‘s microphone being cut off.

“At no point did Showtime or event productions cut any microphones intentionally during Tuesday’s kickoff event in Los Angeles,” it said (h/t MMAJunkie.com). “The point of this world tour is to let these superstars interact with the fans and with each other. Cutting their mics would go against our goal of delivering these fighters to the masses and letting their charismatic and entertaining personalities take center stage.”

Whether McGregor being muted was on Showtime or the Staples Center, the UFC lightweight champ’s microphone was live and on fire for this, and saw him tear into Mayweather in the way that fans were hoping he would on the first day.

With two more days of the World Tour left, fans have a lot to look forward to on Thursday in New York and Friday London.
