Bellator 156

Former Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey will return to action this June, taking on John Salter at Bellator 156.

The promotion announced the bout on Tuesday for the June 17 card. The event takes place inside the Save Mart Center in Fresno and airs live on Spike TV.

Halsey (9-1) has fought eight times already for Bellator, going 7-1 including winning the title. He was bested at Bellator 144 by Rafael Carvalho, as the 29-year-old suffered his first career loss.

He will also have the home-crowd advantage, as Halsey attended Fresno State for college.

Salter (11-3) has won three straight, including a victory back at Bellator 132 over kickboxer Dustin Jacoby. He is 6-1 over his last seven and has finished all 11 of his career wins.

The card features a bantamweight title match between Eduardo Dantas and Marcos Galvao for Galvao’s title, along with former champion Douglas Lima returning to action.
