Jorge Masvidal Points Out Weakness In Conor McGregor’s Style

Former street fighter under Kimbo Slice and current UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal talks about Conor McGregor & Donald Cerrone…

After both men were victorious earlier this month, game scrappers Donald Cerrone and Jorge Masvidal were paired up. Masvidal extended his win streak to two by defeating Jake Ellenberger on December 3, Cerrone went to 4-0 at welterweight by wrecking Matt Brown at UFC 206. ‘Gamebred’ answered ‘Cowboy’s’ call for a fight in Denver next month, and so an exciting burner was born with little drama.

Currently sat at number 13 in the official rankings, Jorge Masvidal would get a huge boost with a win over Donald Cerrone. Their bout at UFC on FOX 23 will serve as co-main event, and fans are eagerly anticipating this showdown. According to Masvidal, the bout with ‘Cowboy’ isn’t all that complicated, though.

Masvidal Says Cerrone’s Body Is Weak

Speaking during an appearance on the Three Amigos Podcast, Masvidal claimed Cerrone’s body is not suspect, but convicted:

“I’m definitely looking to land damaging shots everywhere, whether its to the body, the head. just everywhere. Whatever he gives me, I’m gonna take it. We all know his body, it’s not suspect, it’s convicted. He’s charged with a weak body. That’s for sure, you know? I’m gonna look to exploit those tendencies.”

Touching on the subject of Conor McGregor, Masvidal points out the ‘weakness’ in the Irishman’s ground game:

“(If the UFC offered me a fight with McGregor) I’d be just licking my chops. That would be Christmas for someone like me. On the feet, you know he’s above average, he’s got good reflexes and power in his hands. In the grappling world, I don’t even see him as a threat. He couldn’t stop my takedown. Whenever I want I could tag him and get a takedown. I would love that match, you know.”
