The Last StyleBender’ Israel Adesanya has been a bit quiet since his loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. The battle was vicious, and although Adesanya weathered an early storm, Strickland’s tenacity was just too much.

Israel Adesanya would end up losing his UFC middleweight title due to a decision loss, and he has been rebuilding himself ever since. Now, new footage has emerged showing just how deep these wounds may have cut into the man’s psyche.

New footage reveals Charles Oliveira turned down Islam Makhachev rematch at UFC 295 due to injury

In new previously unseen footage, former undisputed lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira saw the chance to rematch Islam Makhachev for divisional gold whisked away due to injury,  with the promotion hoping to fill a Jon Jones-shaped void last November in the main event of UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden.

Oliveira, the current number two ranked lightweight contender, most recently featured at UFC 300 back in April, suffering a controversial split decision defeat to streaking number one contender, Arman Tsarukyan in the pair’s championship eliminator.

Ruled from a return back in October of last year in Abu Dhabi, Oliveira was set to headline UFC 294 in a rematch with pound-for-pound number one, Makhachev, until a nasty laceration over his right eyebrow ruled the Sao Paulo native from the re-run.

Drafting in former featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski on short-notice, Oliveira’s dismissal from UFC 294 was delved into as part of the new Fight Inc. Inside the UFC series – with matchmaker, Sean Shelby claiming Oliveira’s withdrawal cost him a $2,000,000 payday.

“How about this – how about if they [Charles Oliveira’s team] call us and let us f*cking fix it and tell them what to do,” Dana White said. “Yeah, that’s f*cking – that is a nasty – what were they doing? Wrestling?”

“Sparring with no headgear, the week before he (Charles Oliveira) leaves for the fight [with Islam Makhachev] – no, the day, he’s supposed to leave [for Abu Dhabi] today,” Dana White continued. “The night before. He’s going [training] the night before, sparring with no f*cking headgear. That cost them big money.”

Furthermore, with the above-mentioned heavyweight champion, Jones ruled from his own UFC 295 return after suffering a pectoral tendon tear, Oliveira was offered a glimpse at a rematch with Makhachev in New York – ultimately to no avail.

“The other thing I could look at, is I could see if Islam (Makhachev) and (Charles) Oliveira wanna go [fight at UFC 295],” UFC Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell told CEO, Dana White. “Islam took no f*cking damage – I don’t think he took a single strike. And his (Charles Oliveira’s) cut will be ready by then, too. I think I can pull that off, to be honest with you. You like that? You love that?”

“This is you and Islam,” Campbell told Oliveira. “This would be for the title. I was just trying to rack my brain to see what the hell we could do. Oliveira cannot do it, ‘cause the cut still has not healed and he’s not training. And according to the doctors, he’s still ‘No Contact’ for 10 more days. The cut was so f*cking deep, he has two layers of stitches, interior. They’re like ‘There’s no way, I can’t even train.’

UFC CEO Dana White reveals his viral walkout on comedian Howie Mandel's podcast was staged

UFC CEO Dana White is coming clean about his walkout on Howie Mandel’s podcast.

In the days leading up to UFC 298 in February, White appeared on a slew of podcasts to promote the event. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary, but one particular appearance made headlines.

Sitting down with actor and comedian Howie Mandel, White declared, “I am so f*cking tired of doing podcasts” before taking off his headset, getting up, and walking out mere seconds into the interview. Mandel and others in the studio sat in stunned silence.

Dana White

As it turns out, the whole thing was staged as White and Mandel had already met earlier that same day and concocted the scheme.

“So what happened was I did the Sage Steele podcast when she called me Joe Rogan,” White said during an appearance on the Flagrant podcast. “First of all, Sage Steele and I are good friends, I love Sage. She asked me to be her first guest on the podcast, so I go out there. Now, the studio is owned by Howie Mandel where these podcasts take place. She was signed to Bill Maher’s podcast company and they’re all done there in Howie Mandel’s studio.

“So we get done with the podcast and Howie Mandel walks in and he’s like, ‘100 podcasts a week happen here, I’ve never watched any of them. I watched the whole podcast, love who you are, what you stand for,’ and all this stuff. We hit it off, started talking. Great dude.

“So he’s like, ‘Let me show you around the studio.’ He’s involved in all kinds of shit. He owns social media companies and all this other stuff. Howie Mandel owns a lot of shit that people don’t realize. Smart guy, great guy. So we’re walking through and stuff and he goes, ‘Would you do me a favor?’ I said, ‘Yeah, what’s up?’ He’s like, ‘Would you come in and get up and walk off my podcast?’ I go, ‘I would be f*cking honored to walk off your podcast because I’m so f*cking sick of doing podcasts, it’s not funny.’

“We go in there and do it, right? He’s like, ‘Take this to the grave.’ I said, ‘Done, I’ll take it to the grave.”

Howie Mandel

Why did Dana white spill the tea?

So why didn’t Dana White honor his agreement to take it to the grave? According to the man himself, as he was making another public appearance, a group of loyal UFC fans began an anti-Mandel chant. That’s when he decided to come clean and prevent any unwanted backlash being directed at Mandel over the pre-planned incident.

“I go do this thing with the Nelk Boys, we’re doing this ‘Monkeybomb’ f*cking tour, the whole f*cking crowd starts chanting, ‘F*ck Howie Mandel!’” White said. “I go, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, timeout, I can’t do this.’

“Howie Mandel’s the f*cking greatest dude ever. Sorry, Howie. It’s just when I go out and people just start f*cking sh*tting on the guy — and I’m sure he could give a flying f*ck — I couldn’t do it. So Howie Mandel’s f*cking awesome.”

Sean O'Malley strikes out on beef with Conor McGregor pre UFC 303 I'll always be his biggest fan

It always seemed inevitable that Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor would beef one day, and now that beef has manifested itself. McGregor took to social media regarding the controversies surrounding Ryan Garcia, and O’Malley (a former associate of the man) was drawn into the mix.

Sean O’Malley most recently defended his UFC bantamweight title against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 299. He is currently riding a 6-0-1NC streak in the UFC and has cemented himself as a true bantamweight phenom.

Sean OMalley UFC 299 2

O’Malley has accrued much suspicion, though, about his authenticity as a true combat sports star. McGregor went on a Twitter (now called X) rampage and called out Ryan Garcia for failing a test for PED’s around the time of his fight with Devin Haney. Since O’Malley failed a test for the same substance in 2019, ‘The Notorious’ did not hesitate to mention his name as well.

After his Twitter escapades, McGregor would eventually calm down and try to pacify this newly created beef, saying that he “liked” O’Malley and ‘Suga’ was just an innocent bystander of his rage.

Sean O’Malley was asked about this rivalry and was very honest in his response. He claimed that he and McGregor had not spoken personally, but he holds no ill will towards the man he still considers a little bit of an idol.

“I jokingly on my podcast said we talked, we’re good,” O’Malley told MMA Fighting. “I haven’t talked to him since.”

“I’ll forever be a massive Conor fan. The biggest fan, watched his career play out, watched every single interview possible. I learned a ton from him. He’s a legend. That’s it. It is what it is.”

Regardless of the situation, fans can never fail to recognize what Conor McGregor did for the sport of MMA. Sean O’Malley continues to try and uphold this legacy, and his sentiment is a very sweet one.

What do you think about the way O’Malley has handled this “beef”?

Former eight-division boxing world champion, Manny Pacquiao will return to the boxing ring when he faces RIZIN featherweight champion Chihiro Suzuki.

During the RIZIN 47 broadcast last night, it was announced that the 45-year-old Pacquiao will fight on Super RIZIN 3 on July 28. He will face 25-year-old Suzuki who currently holds the 145lb RIZIN title and holds wins over the likes of Patricio Pitbull.

Manny Pacquaio had retired from competing following his decision loss to Yordenis Ugas in August of 2021.

“It is difficult for me to accept that my time as a boxer is over,” Manny Pacquiao said in his retirement announcement video in September 2021. “Goodbye, boxing…Thank you for changing my life when my family was desperate. You gave us hope. You gave me the chance to fight our way out of poverty. Because of you, I was able to inspire people all over the world. Because of you, I have been given the courage to change more lives.’’

Manny Pacquiao

Ever since his retirement, there has been talks of ‘Pac-man’ making a ring return, being linked to fights with the likes of Conor Benn. It is clear that Pacquiao deeply missed boxing and what he got from the sport.

He has also earned enough money to never have to work again in his life and also held a job as a senator in his native Philippines. Fighting for many is a life style and stepping away from it becomes a very difficult process which leaves some searching for an identity outside of fighting.

While we see many fighters return way past his best, even at his age Pacquiao should still defeat Suzuki. He fought against the very best into his early 40s, becoming the oldest every welterweight champion after defeating Keith Thurman back in 2019, a title he held up until his clash with Ugas.
