“The Pacman” is ready to make his return to the squared circle.

WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will make his return to the boxing ring on January 19th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao will be facing former four-division champion Adrien Broner.

The event will air on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV), and tickets go on sale November 24th and start at as low as $100. Pacquiao had this to say about his return next year (via Bloody Elbow):

”I have missed fighting in Las Vegas, it has been a second home to me,” Pacquiao said. “Returning to the MGM Grand Garden Arena to defend my world title against Adrien Broner is an exciting way to stage my homecoming.

“Adrien is a tough opponent with an accomplished record. But if I have learned one thing while serving in the Philippine Congress and Senate, it is problem solving.”

Pacquiao hasn’t competed since stopping Lucas Matthysse in the seventh round to win the WBA welterweight title. With the victory, Pacquiao has won three of his last four fights. He’ll face Broner, whose last outing resulted in a Majority Draw against Jessie Vargas.

Before that, Broner had a three-fight win streak ended when he was defeated by Mikey Garcia via unanimous decision in July of last year.

According to TMZ, it’s still unclear whether or not Broner knew the guy, or if he just got in the way of his assault. TMZ says security talked to Broner, but let him go and no arrest was made. No word back yet from Broner’s camp.

Broner has had his share of troubles over the past few years, from threatening suicide on social media to being found in an SUV riddled with gunshots last spring.

He has also faced robbery charges in the past, and was charged with battery after choking a waitress in October.

Broner last fought against Mikey Garcia in Brooklyn, in a fight he lost by unanimous decision.

With the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight set to be the biggest boxing event in years, everyone seems to want a spot on the undercard.

According to TMZ, Adrien Broner is the latest fighter looking for a bout, calling out UFC star Nate Diaz in what would be another cross-sport battle between a boxer and a mixed martial artist.

Broner is currently scheduled to face Mikey Garcia on July 29, less than one month before the Aug. 26 battle between Mayweather and McGregor.

“If I come out unmarked…like I usually do, I’ll be willing to fight on Floyd’s undercard,” Broner said of his meeting with Garcia. “If we can make it happen, let’s do it.”

Diaz, who beat McGregor by submission before losing the rematch by decision last August, would be following the Irish star’s path from UFC to boxing if this match took place. While Broner hasn’t put together the career of Mayweather, he is no slouch at 33-2 in his career.

Of course, he will first have to get past Garcia and his 36-0 record.

Meanwhile, boxing star Roy Jones Jr. has also said he wants to be a part of this fight card and is looking for a match against UFC legend Anderson Silva.

Mayweather Promotions reportedly has full control of the undercard and nothing has been announced, but these potential battles between boxers and UFC fighters would certainly keep fans from both sides entertained before the main event.
