Jake Paul

Jake Paul had made a regular habit of making enemies with his mouth.

The YouTube star turned boxing sensation has been in a war of words with notable combat sports stars Jorge Masvidal, Conor McGregor, Tommy Fury, and Dana White. Now you can add Kamaru Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz to that list.

Abdelaziz took to Twitter and criticized the lack of star power of Canelo Alvarez’s opponent Dmitry Bivol in their WBA light heavyweight title fight. While speaking to FightHub TV during a media session for the Taylor-Serrano women’s title bout, Paul called Abdelaziz a “rat” and a “scumbag criminal” in response.

Abdelaziz did not take the insult lightly, snapping back at Jake Paul with strong words and seemingly, the threat of retaliation.

Jake Paul is “A Little Prostitute” According to Abdelaziz

“I just tweeted something because I feel nobody know his (Canelo’s) opponent,” Abdelaziz said while speaking to MMA Junkie. “His opponent is great and he (Bivol) beat him, but realistically, this business is about making money and he tried to dismiss Kamaru, but this fight week nobody know who Canelo is fighting. We shined light on him when Kamaru actually spoke. I’m nobody.”

“You see Eddie Hearn talking sh*t. You this little punk, what’s his name, Jake Paul and his people. I’m going to deal with him too because he said some things. It’s funny because Jake Paul never said some things about me. But suddenly, he starts saying some things about me and I know where this is coming from. I’m going to tell you something, somebody is going to have to pay for what he said.”

Abdelaziz further questioned why he was targeted by Paul, but ultimately believes it was a tactic to put more eyes on himself. Similar to how Paul has targeted certain MMA stars on social media to garner mainstream media attention since transitioning to professional boxing.

“He’s pimped, he’s a little prostitute,” Abdelaziz said about Paul. “At the end of the day, they have to bring in MMA, they have to bring in UFC because they don’t get enough attention and they have to speak about us. And honestly, I’m flattered. The whole press conference in Madison Square Garden, Eddie Hern talked about me, Jake talked about me – good or bad, they still talked about me.

“And most importantly, they talked about Kamaru … This little b*tch Jake Paul, he has something coming from me. I promise. Him and who told him to talk about me.”

Abdelaziz’s admitted respect for both Jake Paul and his brother prior to the comments caused further confusion for the CEO of Dominance MMA Management.

“I was shocked because I always praised the kid,” Abdelaziz said. “I said I wanted him to make money, that it’s great for the sport bringing a lot of attention to boxing and I don’t know. I understand where this comes from, I know who told him to say that and they’re going to pay because I was shocked, very shocked.

“Honestly, it upset me a little bit because I have nothing (to say), but great things about him and his brother. I like his brother and I like him. So why talk about me? I never said nothing about him. That’s it.”

Abdelaziz: White Would Never Give McGregor Title Shot Off Three Losses

Ali Abdelaziz does not believe that UFC President Dana White will give Conor McGregor an immediate title shot upon his return from injury. Ali Abdelaziz does not believe that UFC President Dana White will give Conor McGregor an immediate title shot upon his return from injury.

Abdelaziz, the longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) manager, was recently interviewed by The Schmo, and asked about McGregor’s title shot chances. As someone who has known Dana White a long time, Abdelaziz said he’ll be “f*cking shocked” if McGregor gets the nod for a title fight.

“Conor McGregor, like I said to somebody else earlier today, he’s rehabbing his injury,” Abdelaziz said. “He’s rehabbing his drug habits. Nobody cares about Conor McGregor. He has not won a fight since Obama was the president.

“He’s just popular because he’s a Twitter fighter now. He’s an Instagram fighter. When’s the last time he fought? And shown us he’s worthy enough to fight for a UFC title.

“Listen to me, I understand the UFC business, but I know Dana White like the back of my hand. Dana White will never give Conor McGregor a title fight coming off three losses. I know him. And if he did, I’ll be f*cking shocked. But I don’t think they will ever do that.”

McGregor is on a two-fight losing streak at the moment. His last victory came in January of 2020 against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at welterweight. In his last outing at 155-pounds, McGregor suffered a TKO loss to Dustin Porier via doctor stoppage, breaking his leg during the bout.

During his rehab, McGregor seems to have put on quite a bit of muscle and has been calling out UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for a title shot. However, given his current losing skid, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where McGregor is given a shot at the welterweight title.

What do you think of Ali Abdelaziz saying White won’t give McGregor a title shot next? Do you agree? Sound off in the comments!

Dominance MMA Management CEO Ali Abdelaziz believes that former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar should say farewell to the sport after one more fight.

Edgar, who has entered the Octagon 29 times across a 15-year stint in the promotion, has gone 1-4 in his last five appearances. After back-to-back losses to Max Holloway and “The Korean Zombie” at featherweight, Edgar turned his attention to bantamweight in 2020.

While that switch started off on the right foot with a main event victory over 135-pound veteran Pedro Munhoz, “The Answer” has since returned to a losing skid, and this time a much more devastating one.

After being knocked out cold by Cory Sandhagen courtesy of a brutal flying knee just 28 seconds into their February 2021 clash, Edgar’s desire to rebound at the prestigious Madison Square Garden last November came to a violent halt.

Despite a strong two rounds versus Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 268, Edgar found himself crumpling to the canvas once again, this time owing to a vicious front kick.

Now, Edgar’s manager has provided an update on his client’s return status and possible future. During an interview with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto, Abdelaziz confirmed that Edgar has returned to training following a successful surgery, which was required after a pre-fight injury last time out.

“Frankie took his last fight, he had a little bit of an injury,” said Abdelaziz. “Not taking anything away from ‘Chito.’ He had to get a surgery, he got surgery. He’s working out, he’s beginning training.”

When Edgar is ready to make the walk again, Abdelaziz is hoping it’ll be for the last time.

Abdelaziz: Edgar Will Fight Until He’s 60 If We Let Him

Further in the conversation, Abdelaziz gave his thoughts on what should be next for Edgar, who held the 155-pound gold between 2010 and 2012, a period that saw him defeat BJ Penn twice.

Despite holding Edgar in high regard, the renowned manager acknowledged that with the former champ’s age and recent results, particularly the fashion of them, it might be time for “The Answer” to hang up his gloves.

But Abdelaziz doesn’t want Edgar’s farewell to come without an occasion. He suggested a November return to Madison Square Garden for the veteran’s Octagon swansong.

“Listen, Frankie, if you let him fight, he’ll fight until he’s 60. I love this man… I would like Frankie to say bye bye to the fans, maybe Madison Square Garden in November,” suggested Abdelaziz. “That’ll be his retirement fight. Get him a good matchup, talk to my man Sean (Shelby)… All of us (will) get to say bye-bye to Frankie in Madison Square Garden. It’ll make me sad. I think the man is a future Hall of Famer… You cannot find a better man in this game than him.”

Whether Edgar will share the same sentiment, though, is a whole other thing

“I think Frankie respects me enough to agree with me. But Frankie’s Frankie. Who am I to Frankie in a fight? I am nobody,” admitted Abdelaziz.

Do you agree with Ali Abdelaziz? Should Frankie Edgar retire after his next fight?

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman’s road to recovery from hand surgery has hit a reported roadblock.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported on Tuesday following a conversation with Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, that Usman is out indefinitely with his injured hand.

Usman underwent surgery to repair a hand ligament earlier this year, with an initial targeted return set for International Fight Week in July. Now, it’s unclear as to when the UFC’s pound-for-pound king will make a full recovery and work his way back to the Octagon.

Usman’s last fight was in a rematch against Colby Covington at UFC 268 last November, as he earned a unanimous decision victory. This capped off a calendar year that featured knockouts over Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal.

Usman is expected to face Leon Edwards for his next welterweight title defense. An official booking for the fight hasn’t taken place and the latest update regarding Usman’s hand seems to point to that as the reasoning for the delay.

Usman has also teased a potential crossover fight against boxing world champion Canelo Álvarez. Both sides have alluded to interest in eventually making the fight come to fruition.

It’s unclear if the UFC will wait it out for the planned Usman vs. Edwards matchup, or if they will book an interim title fight featuring Edwards and another top contender. If they decide to go the interim route, a possible matchup with either Khamzat Chimaev or Colby Covington could make sense.

What is your reaction to the update regarding Kamaru Usman’s injured hand?

Prominent mixed martial arts manager, Ali Abdelaziz has questioned the sexual orientation of former interim UFC welterweight champion, Colby Covington – speculating that the Clovis native is “gay” and has his doubts that he likes women.

Ali Abdelaziz, a well-known and prominent manager and agent in mixed martial arts, heads up management agency, Dominance MMA – representing the likes of former UFC champions, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Henry Cejudo – as well as current welterweight kingpin, Kamaru Usman, and Justin Gaethje

Ali Abdelaziz has a storied history with former interim welterweight titleholder, Colby Covington

The 44-year-old Cairo, Egypt native, who was involved in a scuffle alongside his client, the above mentioned Usman as well as Covington prior to the pair’s first clash in December 2020, in which security personnel were forced to corall the parties, has recently questioned the sexuality of Covington during a recent interview.

“Brother, I cannot take this away from him – that’s the only thing he can do in his life: fight and talk sh*t,” Ali Abdelaziz said of Colby Covington. “But he’s not the type of dude I wanna hang out with… to be honest I don’t like him, cause he keeps talking sh*t.”

“I think he’s so uncomfortable in himself, and all this gimmick he’s doing – I don’t think he likes women. I truly believe, this man does not like women. If that’s what he likes, I don’t judge. I think he’s gay. He’s the toughest, gayest motherf*cker on this planet.”

For Covington, the former interim UFC welterweight champion was recently the subject of an alleged attack without notice from recent opponent, Jorge Masvidal – where he suffered a fractured tooth during an altercation outside of Papi Steak in Miami Beach, Florida.

Clovis native, Covington officially pressed charges against Masvidal – with the latter set to appear in court for his next hearing later this month.

Abdelaziz recently felt the wrath of current boxing world champion, Canelo Alvarez — in his bid to secure his client, Usman, a boxing match against him.

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman has stood up for his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, following his recent squabble with Canelo Álvarez.

Abdelaziz aimed at Canelo on Twitter earlier this week and accused him of ducking a fight with Usman. Abdelaziz has predicted that Usman would knockout Canelo inside a few rounds if a crossover fight were to take place.

Canelo responded by dismissing Abdelaziz and mocking him on social media.

Usman remains interested in a fight with Canelo, despite UFC President Dana White seeming less than amused by the proposed booking. However, tensions between the two sides seem to be heating up.

Usman replied to Álvarez’s dismissal of Abdelaziz in a recent tweet.

“Let’s just all relax…before somebody gets hurt,” Usman tweeted.

Canelo would then immediately issue the following response:

“I agree cuz it will not be me.”

Usman is expected to face Leon Edwards for his next welterweight title defense later this year. He’s coming off a year that featured wins over Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, and Gilbert Burns.

Before any potential fight talks take place, Álvarez will face Dmitry Bivol for the WBA super light heavyweight title on May 7. He’s accumulated a 57-1-2 record in the boxing ring.

Canelo’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has expressed interest in booking a crossover match between Usman and Canelo. If the fight ends up coming to fruition, fans can expect some bad blood brewing between their respective teams.

Do you think we’ll see Kamaru Usman vs. Canelo Álvarez in a crossover fight?
