Andrea Lee is not looking back, but rather forward heading into her upcoming fight at the UFC on FOX 31 event despite her personal issues.

She’s slated to take on Jessica-Rose Clark in a women’s flyweight bout this weekend. This fight will be an important one for her as it marks her first bout since being allegedly attacked. This alleged domestic violence incident involved her husband and MMA coach Donny Aaron. It also involved fans pointing out Nazi tattoo on Aaron’s left arm in a social media post.

Despite these problems that she was forced to overcome, she talked about her focus during a recent interview. This is where the prospect noted that it hasn’t affected her life outside the cage.

“Honestly, I have not let it affect me any during this fight camp,” Lee told MMAjunkie. “Some people may not believe it at all. But I’m a very strong, mentally, person. So I’m able to overcome a whole lot of things. It’s just something that has happened, it happens in a lot of people’s lives. You choose how you’re going to deal with it. I feel like I’ve dealt with it the right way. I’m moving forward and not looking back. All’s forgiven, and I’m happy.”

Timing

The incident on August 4th led to Aaron being charged with violence/battery and false imprisonment. However, that didn’t stop her from continuing her MMA career. Just one month later, her fight at UFC on FOX 31 was announced.

She discussed the timing of the bout and being ready to fight.

“I would’ve preferred to have kept all of that my personal, private business,” Lee said at the time. “It’s my life, and the way that it got out in the media just kind of sucks. At first I thought, was I going to be ready?” Lee said. “And then if that was enough time. Then after a few days of thinking it over, I was like, ‘I got this, I can do that.’ I need a fight, it’s a great distraction. Every fighter needs money. But I was super excited about the fight with Jessica-Rose Clark. She’s a great fighter, and I respect her.”

To say UFC women’s flyweight Andrea Lee has had a challenging few months would be an understatement. Between making her UFC debut and her terrible public domestic violence incident, “KGB” has had her hands full in 2018.

Lee made her UFC debut back in June of this year. She was victorious on that night. However, just a few weeks after her triumphant debut she found herself smack dab in the middle of a social media feeding frenzy. Lee had posted a picture of herself and her husband Donnie Aaron at the lake. As fans were quick to point out, however, Aaron’s left arm bore the unmistakable sign of a Nazi tattoo.

Initially, Lee was unapologetic about the tattoo. But she later issued an apology. Turns out, the fallout from the entire ordeal has been challenging to say the least.

Lee has her theories as to why that is:

“Anytime there’s something to talk about, people just love to, I guess, bring other people down,” Lee said this week during an appearance on the “Slip ‘n Dip” podcast. “Saying I’m not deserving of a UFC contract because of particular things. … It’s just crazy. But I’ve gotten through that, and I’ve gotten on to some other, more serious matters.

“That, to me, everything that’s happening between me and my husband, Donny, I didn’t want that to get out into the news like it did.”

Lee is referring to an alleged domestic violence incident between her husband Aaron two months later. Lee’s friend, fighter Andy Nguyen, called the police and filed a report.

The police were provided the disturbing details of the incident by Nguyen. She also said “the domestic violence has been going on for years” between the two.

Lee, however, would’ve preferred her private life to stay just that…private:

“Everybody who knows of me in the MMA community, who watches the UFC, reads the updates and stuff, and just reads all the articles, it’s embarrassing,” Lee said. “I would’ve preferred to have kept all of that my personal, private business. It’s my life, and the way that it got out in the media just kind of sucks.”

“(Nguyen) did say some things that I would’ve preferred things not to have been said, because it’s just hard for me, because of my little girl,” Lee said. “Donny and I, we have a daughter together. Regardless of everything that happened, he’s still her dad. And him and I and his family, we’re still going to have to cope with each other. We’re going to get along for the sake of (our daughter). And hopefully, we can be friends. I mean, I’m a forgiving person. A lot of the stuff that the media, the media they took the things that Andy said and twisted it to fit their story.”

But even though Lee wants that insidious part of her life to stay private, all is not okay.

As of Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2018), the Shreveport (La.) Police Department said Aaron is “still on the run”. Aaron was charged with domestic violence/battery and false imprisonment last month (via MMAJunkie). Aaron is innocent until proven guilty. But it doesn’t look good for him as of right now.

As for “KGB,” she will make her second walk to the Octagon on December 15, 2018, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She will fight Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC on FOX 31.

A win over Clark will continue Lee’s title trajectory. But the 29-year-old is in no hurry. She has a plan for a career, or perhaps it’s a ‘specific idea’ in mind:

“If I get a win, it’ll move me into the top 10, but there are still other females that I’m going to have to get through before I get that opportunity.

“But that means I’m on the right track. I just got to keep winning, I don’t want a title shot anytime soon with the contract that I’m on right now. I want to be able to renegotiate my contract for the title shot. I’d like to just hold off a little bit.”

Police believe they know where Andrea Lee’s fugitive husband Donny Aaron has been hiding. At a mixed martial arts gym of all places.

The 42-year-old Aaron was charged with several felonies last month. Including domestic violence/battery and false imprisonment stemming from an incident with Lee last month. Aaron was also accused of choking and burning her with cigarettes before Lee managed to fight him off.

After receiving a number of tips from the MMA community, police have reason to believe that Aaron may be held up at an MMA gym. Shreveport (La.) police spokesperson Angie Willhite warned that anyone harboring a fugitive can be charged with a crime.

“I don’t know if people understand there are consequences to that,” Willhite told MMA Junkie. “If they’re intentionally harboring this man, that’s against the law. You can’t do that, and I would certainly hope that wouldn’t be the case.”

Initially, police believed Aaron to be hiding in Georgia. The Shreveport spokesperson Willhite explained that the local authorities have been made aware of Aaron’s fugitive status, however, she is unsure if his warrants are extraditable.

In the meantime, the authorities ask that if you have any information that could help lead to the arrest of Aaron to please call the agency’s anonymous tip line.

“You can’t run from this forever,” Willhite said. “We’re going to find him eventually.”

Andrea Lee Breaks Silence On Husband’s Alleged Domestic Violence

Andrea Lee has broken her silence regarding her husband’s pending domestic violence charges.

UFC Flyweight Andrea Lee was recently the victim of some alleged domestic violence charges.

Her husband Donny Aaron was charged with one count of domestic battery abuse and one count of false imprisonment by the Shreveport (La.) Police Department on Monday.

Lee and Aaron have a daughter together and have been married for almost five years.

Lee’s Statement

Lee released a statement on Wednesday (Aug 22, 2018). In it, she expressed the need for privacy for her and her family.

“My family and I are handling the situation to the best of our ability, as this is a very sensitive issue and one that as a public figure I wish was not taking place in a public forum,” Lee wrote. “I respectfully ask that everyone respects our privacy at this time as we work towards resolutions and closure.”

Warrant Issued for Aaron

Aaron has not been taken into custody as of this writing. However, there is a warrant issued for his arrest stemming from the domestic violence attack on Lee. Aaron is believed to be in the state of Georgia.

Female fighter Andy Nguyen lived with Lee and Aaron in Shreveport and thus has knowledge of the incident. She later told officers that Aaron had tried to burn Lee’s arm with a cigarette. Then tried to choke her.

“He was trying to choke her, but she was defending herself well,” Nguyen’s statement read. “She didn’t get beat up bad. The police did take pictures of marks on her neck. Wasn’t bad this time. No black eyes or anything but he has hit her before. I just wasn’t there. He was my coach and my friend. This was the first time this was in [my] presence and I was not going to let this fly.”

“The domestic violence has been going on for years. I just never saw it.”

Lee concluded her public statement with some positive vibes.

“I look forward to returning to the Octagon and resuming my winning ways in the near future,” Lee said. “Competing has always been a sanctuary for me and brings great joy to my life.”

Aaron is innocent until proven guilty under United States law. But it doesn’t look good for the ex-cop and former Muay Thai champion who has quite the extensive rap sheet that includes a negligent homicide and spousal battery.
