Last night (Sat. November 9, 2019) Logan Paul lost his professional boxing debut against fellow YouTube star KSI.

The pair went six rounds in the cruiserweight division for Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn on DAZN. When it was all said and done, KSI was awarded the split decision victory.

It didn’t take long for Bellator star Dillon Danis, who has been campaigning for a fight with Logan’s brother, Jake, for quite some time, to react to the result.

Here’s what Danis had to say on Twitter.

to be honest @jakepaul better thank god every day that i wasn’t allowed in that arena, cause if i was, i woulda slapped his face back behind his hairline”

meet me in the parking lot @jakepaul for the real main event”

congrats @KSIOlajidebt!”

Danis then deleted a Tweet in which he bashed Logan Paul’s performance, and apologized for picking on the other Paul brother.

sorry for picking on you @LoganPaul actually thought you were half decent”

It will be interesting to see if a fight between Danis and Jake Paul eventually develops. The pair have built up quite the feud with each other on social media.

What do you make of Danis’ reaction to Paul losing to KSI last night?

Josh Barnett’s long-awaited promotional debut will headline Bellator’s Salute The Troops event next month.

Barnett will meet fellow debuting UFC veteran Ronny Markes in a heavyweight contest in the main event. The show is set to take place December 20 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Barnett signed with Bellator in April and will be making his return to the sport for the first time since September 2016 when he submitted Andrei Arlovski. As for Markes, he last competed at PFL 3 in June where he defeated Sigi Pesaleli via TKO. He is a five-fight veteran of the UFC and notably fought names like Yoel Romero and Thiago Santos.

It will be the second year that Bellator teams up with United Service Organizations to pay tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The event takes place one day before Bellator Hawaii which is headlined by a women’s flyweight title fight between champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Kate Jackson. Competing in the co-main event of that card is a Bellator featherweight grand prix quarterfinal matchup as AJ McKee collides with Derek Campos.

As for the Salute The Troops event, no other fights are announced as of yet. However, more fight announcements can be expected in the coming weeks.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano is officially part of the Bellator roster.

The news was announced Tuesday evening by Zingano as well as Bellator president Scott Coker on Twitter:

“Oh helloooo @bellatormma ladies, shall we dine or dance?” Zingano tweeted.

“I’d like to officially welcome @CatZingano to @BellatorMMA‘s featherweight division,” Coker tweeted.

Zingano was abruptly released by the UFC in August. “Alpha” claims the release was mutual as she wanted to work on a personal project which didn’t line up with the UFC’s timeline for her comeback.

Her last fight was a featherweight bout against Megan Anderson at UFC 232 last year. She would lose the bout via TKO after suffering an eye injury following a headkick from Anderson.

It made it a 1-4 slump for the 37-year-old who notably started her professional career at 9-0. She held TKO wins over Amanda Nunes and Miesha Tate during that period.

Zingano will notably remain at featherweight and is a significant boost to Bellator’s 145-pound division which already boasts current champion Julia Budd and recent signing Cris Cyborg.

No date or opponent has been announced as of yet for Zingano’s Bellator debut.

It appears that Rory MacDonald’s Bellator contract is not expired after all.

It was believed that MacDonald’s welterweight title fight with Douglas Lima at Bellator 232 on Saturday was the last of his deal. MacDonald would lose the fight — and his title as a result — via unanimous decision as well and claimed afterward that he would be open to a trilogy.

However, he would need to sort out his contract first.

“It’s very likely,” MacDonald said of a trilogy fight. “I mean we had two close fights. He won one, I won one. It’s kind of inevitable that we’ll probably fight again. … I wouldn’t say no. If they wanted to do it, they could do it.

“… First I’ve got to re-sign. My contract expired so we’ve got to deal with that situation but if they want to give me a title shot, sure.”

However, that’s not the case according to Bellator president Scott Coker who didn’t dive into much detail:

”Rory’s contract has not expired, and we have remaining rights,” Coker told MMA Fighting.

It is possible that like many contracts, MacDonald’s has a clause that allows Bellator to not only have the sole right to offer a new deal, but also match deals from other promoters once a typically 90-day period has passed.

Coker would certainly like to keep MacDonald but it ultimately depends on all parties:

”I think he’s a great fighter,” he added. “I think he’s probably the No. 2 welterweight in our roster, so yeah, we would love to. But we’ll see.”

Do you think MacDonald will stay at Bellator? Or do you think he will retire?

A rematch between Michael Chandler and Benson Henderson is set to take place at Bellator Japan.

The bout was made official by Bellator recently and will serve as the co-main event of the promotion’s debut show in Japan which takes place December 28 at the Saitama Super Arena. It will be contested at a catchweight of 160 pounds.

Chandler and Henderson first collided at Bellator 165 back in November 2016. The former came out on top on that occasion winning via split decision to retain his lightweight title at the time.

Since then, Chandler would lose his title twice, most recently earlier this year after getting knocked out by Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. In total, he has gone 3-2.

Henderson, meanwhile, would lose another split decision to Patricky Freire but is currently on a four-fight winning streak. His most recent victory was a unanimous decision win over the debuting Myles Jury at Bellator 227 last month.

Although this is a catchweight, the winner should be next in line to challenge Freire for the lightweight title.

Bellator Japan will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
