Michael 'Venom' Page, Mike Perry

Michael ‘Venom’ Page will be taking on Mike Perry at BKFC 27.

‘Venom’ is reeling off a controversial split decision loss to Logan Storley at Bellator 281. MVP was on a six-fight win streak going into the fight and was defending his interim title in front of an English crowd. The second-ranked contender at welterweight in the promotion has received its blessing to compete under a different banner, a rare occasion in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Michael Venom Page vs. Mike Perry set for BKFC 27

Page will be facing off against the UFC veteran Mike Perry this August 20 in London. The two will take to the ring in a bare-knuckle contest under BKFC. MVP will remain with Bellator and is being allowed an exception for this sole event.

Meanwhile, Perry has remained out of action for over a year since his last outing against Daniel Rodriguez, which he lost via unanimous decision. ‘Platinum’ dropped four in his last five bouts in the UFC and the promotion chose not to offer him a new contract.

Perry moved on to sign a multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship following his free agency last April. His debut in the new sport came against Julian Lane at Knucklemania 2 in February. The 30-year-old Florida native came out on top in his first showing and will be looking to get another win against Page.

BKFC 27 will mark Michael Venom Page’s first outing in bare-knuckle fighting. The 35-year-old Englishman developed a reputation for his unorthodox style of striking. His antics during the fight and in celebration have brought him under fire from the community.

During his match with Cyborg Santos, Page landed a vicious flying knee to the head of Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos to snatch a knockout win. Following the victory, Page would infamously throw a Pokeball at him to mimic the cartoon show.

Fedor Emelianenko has shut down the idea of a possible cross-promotional fight between himself and Junior dos Santos.

Eagle FC owner and former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov recently expressed interest in a fight between the two heavyweights leading up to dos Santos’s Eagle FC debut in May. That main event bout between Yorgan De Castro and dos Santos ended when the former UFC heavyweight champion injured his shoulder early in the third round.

In an interview with Russia media outlet Okko, Emelianenko indicated that the result of that fight took some appeal away from a potential matchup between himself and the Brazilian.

“A meeting was planned with Scott Coker. But, as I understand it, Scott and I are not interested in this fight with Junior dos Santos. First of all, because of the defeat of the latter.”

“Cigano” was ahead on the scorecards heading into the third round of the fight at Eagle FC 47 before dislocating his shoulder just over 30 seconds into the final round. De Castro subsequently left the cage as the winner, and the 38-year-old dos Santos suffered his first loss since leaving the UFC and fifth in a row overall.

Fedor Emelianenko has been competing for Bellator since 2017 and has gone 4-2 during his time in the promotion. The 45-year-old is currently on a two-fight win streak after first-round knockouts of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tim Johnson.

“The Last Emperor” suffered his most recent loss when he challenged Ryan Bader for the Bellator heavyweight championship in 2019. Emelianenko currently has one-fight remaining on his Bellator contract, and he’s indicated a desire to challenge Bader again for the title in what could also end up being his retirement fight.

Considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters of all time, Junior dos Santos recently named Emelianenko as his GOAT of heavyweight MMA.

What do you think of Fedor Emelianenko’s comments that a fight with Junior dos Santos has lost its appeal?

Alan Omer Brain Tumor

After a UFC opportunity didn’t go his way, Alan Omer left the promotion and got back on the regional scene where he’d go on a terrific run. Winning six fights in a row, before tragedy struck.

After an impressive finish at Bellator 248, Omer had routine check-ups done when the medical staff made a shocking discovery.

Alan Omer Details Brain Tumor Scare and Speaks on Bellator Comeback

“It’s time for me to speak out after a long time of restraint. Sometimes life hits you with a big smash on your face, you have to accept and even appreciate it,” Alan Omer began, speaking on Instagram.

“It’s been hard time for me. In the peak of my life and my career, I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor. At a routine check for my Bellator Debut on September 2020, something abnormal has been spotted in my brain. I didn’t have any symptoms and first assumption was an edema. After long discussions I still got medical clearance to fight under the condition of complete clarification after the fight. Therefore, I am all the more proud of my performance and the sensational victory at that fight.”

“After the fight, I went to routine checks, nothing changed on the MRI,” Alan Omer continued. “2021 I planned my US debut at Bellator 258. What a great opportunity for me! But the American sports commission didn‘t clear me to fight. I needed to clarify what this abnormality is exactly.”

“At this point, I felt something is wrong and started to worry. Shortly after I received the shock of my life: I very likely have a brain tumor. A marathon of examinations started. A biopsy showed that in fact, it was a brain tumor, and not one of nice ones,” Omer revealed.

“In spring I had long surgery and the tumor has been removed to 100%. The surgery couldn’t have gone better. I’m in a very good health conditioning and even started to train again. All my life I was confronted with death, from start facing wars in Iraq and Yemen, throughout my sport – it‘s an extreme sport- until my diagnosis. Now in the second part of my life, I WILL FACE LIFE!” He declared.

Alan Omer Finishes His Beautiful Statement With Details on His Comeback Plans

“No matter how long we live, we are just a brief and certain period here. We should always appreciate our health, its the most valuable thing in life. Now I have to recover from my physical and emotional scars, but:

I will come back to the active sport next year
I will come back stronger
I will come back different

Bellator welterweight contender Michael ‘Venom’ Page wants to run it back with interim welterweight champion Logan Storley as soon as possible.

Page lost via split decision against Storley at Bellator 281 just weeks ago. After originally being scheduled to fight Yaroslav Amosov for the welterweight title, Page competed against Storley for the interim belt after Amosov withdrew.

Storley controlled the fight with his wrestling but was criticized by Bellator president Scott Coker and others for his lack of volume striking on the ground. Page was unable to consistently stuff takedowns and eliminate Storley’s ground game.

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Page gave his thoughts on the fight and what he wants next.

“I’m a very petty person,” Page said. “He’s won but not in any kind of spectacular fashion. I’ve legit had harder spars. The reason I say it that way is because physically I don’t have a bruise, I don’t have a sore, I don’t have an ache. Anything. It doesn’t even feel like I’ve had a five-round fight. That’s probably the most frustrating thing about it, is losing in a way where I know for a fact I could go into a fight this weekend and feel fine and be good to go. I know he couldn’t say the same.”

Luckily for Page, he has recently friendly history when it comes to rematches. He defeated Douglas Lima at Bellator 267 via split decision after suffering a second-round knockout to Lima at Bellator 221 just years earlier.

Before his loss to Storley, Page had picked up wins over the likes of Derek Anderson, Shinsho Anzai, and Lima. Storley and Lima are the only two opponents to defeat him in the Bellator cage.

While Page will more than likely not get his wishes in the form of a rematch with Storley right away, he seems motivated to get back into the title picture and pursue a second fight with him down the line.

How do you think a Michael ‘Venom’ Page vs. Logan Storley rematch would play out?

Suffering a brutal, one-sided third round knockout loss to former UFC middleweight title challenger, Yoel Romero at Bellator 280 earlier this month in Paris, France – promotional staple, Alex Polizzi has now revealed he also sustained a fractured jaw as a result of Romero’s bludgeoning.

Polizzi, who fell to 10-2 as a professional, made his debut under the Scott Coker-led Bellator banner back in September 2020, and replaced veteran kickboxing talent, Melvin Manhoef at the light heavyweight limit – meeting Cuban veteran and Olympic bronze medalist, Yoel Romero in the French capital.

Suffering a series of damaging knockdowns against the American Top Team staple, Polizzi was eventually finished with just a single second remaining in the third round of this fight, with Romero springing with another massive shot – landing another knockdown, and then following up with subsequent ground strikes.

The victory came as Romero, who was quince booked to challenge for UFC gold during his tenure with the organization, first since his move to Bellator – after he lost a unanimous decision defeat against former light heavyweight kingpin, Phil Davis at Bellator 266 in September of last year.

Revealing the extent of his injuries suffered against Yoel Romero, Polizzi detailed how he had injured his left foot during the fight, however, more worryingly – the six-fight Bellator veteran shared x-ray images of a fractured jaw suffered in his fight against the fan-favorite.

“Ope!” Alex Polizzi posted on Instagram, accompanied by x-ray images. “We should probably just heal and drink @milk for a bit.”

Yoel Romero has since been booked to fight Melvin Manhoef at Bellator Dublin in September

Off the back of his impressive win against Polizzi – which marked his first victory since a brutal February 2018 knockout success against former UFC middleweight best, Luke Rockhold, Romero has since been booked to fight the aforenoted, Manhoef in a rescheduled co-headlining clash at Bellator Dublin in September.
