Oscar De La Hoya says a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez would do big business.

Their first fight was held on September 14, 2013, in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather got the majority decision win after 12 rounds in front of a sold out crowd of 16,746.

As a result, the boxing legend earned a nice payday that went alongside his nickname as he picked up a $41.5 million check.

The boxing promoter made it known in a recent interview that if these two would fight again then they could draw $1.5 billion. A big number for a boxing fight.

Mayweather has come a long way from this fight as he has claimed that he made more than $300 million for his bouts with Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.

“If Floyd Mayweather decides to come back, a fight with him and Canelo could be a $1.5 billion fight,” Oscar tells TMZ Sports.

The boxing legend is fresh off a win over Tenshin Nasukawa in their exhibition bout at RIZIN 14 on December 31, 2018, from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. He was able to score the TKO win after the corner of the rising prospect threw in the towel after the first round.

On the flip side, Alvarez is slated to fight Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on December 15, 2018 for the WBA ‘Regular’ super middleweight title.
