Tyson Fury has a hilarious message for Deontay Wilder ahead of their likely rematch.

Since their meeting last month, Fury has been keeping in shape for the inevitable rematch between himself and “The Bronze Bomber.” However, in a recent interview with BT Sport, Fury issued out a hilarious message for his familiar foe:

“I’m just maintaining my fitness really, I’m [as] fit now as I was then, same kind of thing, I’m ready to fight. Wilder, let’s get the fight made, don’t s*** yourself now mate!”

Fury and Wilder put on a fight that boxing fans will remember for years to come. While many believe the Englishman got the better of the heavy-handed slugger in terms of technicality, Wilder scored the only two knockdowns of the fight. In the 12th round, Wilder knocked Fury to the canvas with a shot that could’ve been ruled a knockdown. Somehow, Fury got to his feet and was able to finish the fight.

When the final bell rang, the fight went to the judges’ scorecards. Many were upset with the result, but the history books will read the bout ended in a Split Decision Draw. For now, Wilder will hang on to the WBC heavyweight strap. But it seems inevitable that they will meet once again in the first quarter of 2019.

It looks like the rumors of Conor McGregor getting back into the ring against Paulie Malignaggi aren’t true.

Recently, rumors have been flying around that McGregor and Malignaggi’s team’s are in early discussions for a boxing match. However, Malignaggi tells Express UK that those rumors aren’t true:

“Not true,” Malignaggi said. “But of course, Conor is the king of bulls**t so I would not be surprised if this Conor having his team put out rumours just to keep his name in the headlines.”

The beef between McGregor and Malignaggi began back in 2017. Malignaggi was initially brought in as part of McGregor’s training camp for his boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, things got sour when McGregor released a clip of he and Malignaggi’s sparring session. The clip favored McGregor, as Malignaggi was shown falling down after either a trip or knock down.

Malignaggi subsequently left the camp and has been bitter about the incident ever since. He would love the opportunity to pay McGregor back inside the boxing ring in front of millions around the world. But Malignaggi doubts McGregor would ever step into the ring with him:

“I assure you he will never fight me,” Malignaggi said. “No balls wasn’t a catchphrase, it is a fact. I’m sure the footage will be cut around to show what they want to show you. He doesn’t have much, though. Having said that, even with the not much they have, they’ve convinced basically everyone of this bulls**t narrative.

“It’s actually good fun to watch. I assure everyone it is, but he’s trying to perpetuate a lie. Me not being in shape or sharp aside, it was good action. And he has to thank his lucky stars that’s the shape I was in.

“Because despite 16oz gloves and headgear, that’s the only reason he doesn’t get stopped even in sparring. I had to deaden the pace for the sake of making sure I can finish the twelve rounds.”

True Footage?

He claimed his shape was the reason he didn’t decimate McGregor. Malignaggi closed by saying McGregor wouldn’t release ‘un-doctored’ footage of their infamous sparring:

“It is the only reason he doesn’t get assaulted by me in that session. He has to, though, as we did eight rounds the first time. That one I still hadn’t got the memo that we had a beef and I took the casual approach to figuring out that he needs work. The second one, we both were meaner spirited though.

“He can show all footage, but if you haven’t got anything to be ashamed about, including the knockdown footage being twisted with the strange camera angles to sell it, then just show it as it is, right? I still don’t believe he has the balls to show the footage un-doctored.”

Tenshin Nasukawa Responds To Conor McGregor’s Callout

Conor McGregor recently called out Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa for a ‘mixed martial arts exhibition.’

Nasukawa was recently dominated by Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition at RIZIN 14 on New Year’s Eve. The ‘fight’ was a one-sided farce. Nasukawa flopped about the ring like he had been hit by a bulldozer with each one of the bigger Mayweather’s punches.

It was easy money for well, ‘Money,’ who banked nine million dollars for less than three minutes of work. McGregor is also swimming in the cash thanks to UFC 229 and his Proper 12 Whiskey sales. But that apparently won’t stop him from cashing in on what he understandably sees as another easy payday in Nasukawa.

And Tenshin is down as well. The RIZIN fighter responded to McGregor’s callout by thanking him for ‘remembering his name’ before offering a fight under kickboxing rules:

Unlike Mayweather, McGregor is currently bound to the terms of his UFC contract, at least for now. The UFC let him branch out to box Mayweather in August 2017. It would seem a similar situation with Nasukawa would be beyond unlikely at this point.

It’s fun to talk about on social media, however, and will most certainly have combat sports fan buzzing. Nasukawa is a young, talented fighter with a bright future ahead of him in Japan. Pitting him against much larger, more experienced fighters like Mayweather and McGregor may get his name out in the headlines in droves.

Yet it doesn’t really do him too many favors. If he’s being branded a laughingstock and being accused of throwing his ‘fight’ with Mayweather, his star won’t be shining for long.

WBC heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) was in attendance for this past weekend’s (Sat. December 22, 2018) fight between Jermell Charlo (31-1, 15 KOs) and Tony Harrison (28-2, 15 KOs).

For those of you who missed it, Charlo dropped his WBC light-middleweight championship to Harrison in a controversial unanimous decision. It was the first defeat of Charlo’s career. Maintaining an undefeated record in boxing is of high importance to the sport’s top stars. Floyd “Money” Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) made a career off his undefeated record, which currently sits at a perfect 50-0.

Wilder also holds an undefeated record for the time being, but he came very close to suffering his first defeat earlier this month (Sat. December 1, 2018). “The Bronze Bomber” shared the ring with Tyson Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) inside Los Angeles’ Staples Center, defending his WBC heavyweight crown against the Englishman. The pair went all 12 rounds in a fight that boxing fans will remember for quite some time.

Despite many believing Fury took the fight in terms of technicality, Wilder scored the only two knockdowns of the entire contest. His latter, in the 12th round, could’ve arguably been ruled a knockout. However, after going the distance, the judges’ scorecards presented a split decision draw. Speaking to Boxing Scene recently, Wilder spoke on the possability of suffering the first loss of his boxing career.

The thought doesn’t seem to bother Wilder as most might think, as the American slugger believes losses can truly humble a fighter, and push them to comeback even stronger:

“A loss or a draw can be a great thing but it all depends on where your minds at.,” Wilder said. “It can make you honest and humble. That’s how you become a 3-time 4-time champion.

“A lot of people want to see how you fall and get back up. That’s what people turn into see how you get back up.”

Wilder has solidified himself in boxing heavyweight history with the amazing highlight reel of knockouts he has amassed over his career. While retiring with an undefeated record would be nice for any fighter, that’s not the reason Wilder is in the fight game. Rather than maintaining a spotless record, Wilder simply wants to be remembered as the best to ever lace up a pair of gloves in the heavyweight division:

“I’m not worried about an undefeated record,” said Wilder. “If I happen to lose, then so be it, watch my comeback and see how I get back. Blessings to all those that get in the ring, we put our life on the line for people’s entertainment.”
