Kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa unsuccessfully challenged Floyd Mayweather inside the ring recently.

On New Year’s Eve in Tokyo, Japan, “Money” stepped into the ring against Nasukawa for an exhibition bout at RIZIN FF 14. The fight did not count on either man’s record and was scheduled to go three three-minute rounds. Instead, Mayweather finished the action early in the first round after knocking Nasukawa down three times.

After the third knockdown, Nasukawa’s corner threw in the towel to protect their fighter from suffering further damage. Shortly after his defeat to arguably the greatest boxer who has ever lived, Nasukawa released the following statement on Instagram (translated via Google Translate):

“It was a challenge to fight with being said to be reckless. Although the result has been knocked down I do not regret it. I did not reach Mayweather at my own 20 years. In case.

“But I came out with courage. In case. Thank you very much, Mayweather players who fought. In case. Thank you very much for everyone who supported me.

“In case I could not shape your thoughts, but I will continue to challenge from now on. Everyone, thank you again this year. In case.”

It was an amazing performance from Mayweather, who came out very aggressive, which is uncommon for the 41-year-old. Also, “Money” claims he didn’t even have a training camp for his fight with the Japanese star, making his performance all the more impressive.

However, his lack of preparation was likely due to the fact that, regardless of the result (win or lose), it would not affect his perfect 50-0 boxing record. Perhaps even more impressive, Mayweather claims he made nine million dollars for his destruction of Nasukawa in Japan.

Floyd Mayweather had no trouble making quick work of Japanese kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14 on New Year’s Eve.

Mayweather was the bigger, stronger, and more experinced fighter heading into exhibition with Tenshin. And according to the 50-0 pugilist, he did very little training for this fight.

“Did I have a training camp for this fight? No,” Mayweather said during the post-fight press conference via Bloody Elbow. “I went to the gym a few times and moved around with Daquan (Mays), a young champion on the rise. Now, I’mma call him a champion now — he could be a champion, which I believe he can, with experience, and if he listened. He’s young, he has a lot to learn, but he will be okay.

“I’m just happy he was able to move around with me, just a little bit, just to get the kinks out, so I can come out here and perform for you guys.”

Many fans have criticized the fight saying it was fixed. Regardless, Mayweather dropped the 20 year old three times and finished off the kickboxer in under one round.

In typical “Money” Mayweather fashion, he then went on to flaunt his earnings.

Floyd Mayweather absolutely demolished kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN FF 14 from the Saitama Super Arena (highlights here) earlier today.

The combat sports world is abuzz with the results of the one-sided ‘fight.’ Many are calling it a work after Nasukawa was sent flopping about the ring for one round before his corner mercifully stopped it.

The one thing that is undoubtedly certain about the fight is that Mayweather made a big payday for a few short minutes of work. True to form, “Money” took to Instagram to post how much he earned. According to Mayweather, he banked $9 million for the quick match:

“What if I told you I was making $9,000,000 for 9 minutes of sparring in Tokyo Japan would you do the same if you were me? I like to call it a 9 minute walk thru.”

Indeed most would do the same if presented with the opportunity. Now, Mayweather will most likely resume flaunting his possible match-up with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

It’s a fight Khabib’s manager claims Mayweather is ‘begging for,’ but with paydays like these for such short work, it’s hard to imagine “Money” has to beg for anything.
