Is Jake Paul on Steroids? Expert Physician is Skeptical

A recent photo of Jake Paul has people speculating about the YouTuber’s potential steroid abuse.

Ever since transitioning to combat sports in 2020, ‘The Problem Child’ has been accused of using performance-enhancing substances to rapidly bulk up. Recently, the accusations ramped up after a picture of Paul showed him sporting some of the hallmarks of steroid abuse, specifically acne and a thinning hairline.

Paul continues to deny the allegations and has gone so far as to publish results from past PED tests, but the photo, which you can see below, has sparked skepticism among some medical professionals.

New York-based physician Dr. Stuart Fischer told DailyMail that the image was “definitely suspicious” while explaining that steroid use can weaken the skin causing hormonal fluctuations that can then in turn cause someone to develop acne and hair loss. Dr. Fischer also added a sudden outbreak of acne at Paul’s age was rather unusual.

Jake Paul is not scrutinized like other professional athletes, leading to further speculation

Tom Coughlin, a sports performance nutritionist and anti-doping educator, added that speculation over Paul’s alleged use is often highlighted by the fact that he’s never had to participate in a strict anti-doping program like other professional athletes.

“He’s certainly not, I suppose, put under the same sort of scrutiny as a professional athlete would when it comes to that,” Coughlin said.

Jake Paul

Even with their extensive knowledge and growing suspicions, it’s simply not enough to confirm without a shadow of a doubt that Paul is using some form of performance-enhancing substance. The only way to know for sure is through testing.

“The evidence that we have is not a smoking gun by itself,” Coughlin concluded.

After securing a sixth-round TKO against BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry in July, Jake Paul will return to the squared circle on Friday, November 15 for a professional boxing bout with legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The fight will emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and air live on Netflix.

Joe Rogan Expresses Concern Over Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul: “He’s Still a Different Kind of Human Being”

Iron’ Mike Tyson may be 58 years old, but he can still knock your head into “another dimension.

On Friday, November 15, the former unified heavyweight world champion will return to the ring for his first professional boxing bout in nearly 20 years against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson

News of their fight was met with immediate criticism, much of it focused on the fact that Tyson is 31 years older than Paul. Adding to the concerns was Tyson’s withdrawal from their originally scheduled July 20 date after he suffered a medical emergency during a cross-country flight in May.

Publicly, the incident was blamed on an ulcer flare-up. Still, the reports only heightened people’s anxiety over seeing Tyson return to the ring.

Mike Tyson

Recently longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan shared his conflicted opinion on Tyson’s clash with Paul during an episode of his popular JRE podcast alongside Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe.

“58 is 58, no matter what you’re taking and what they’re doing for you,” Rogan said. “You’re still 58. But 58-year-old Mike Tyson is not 50-year-old Mike Jones that lives down the street, it’s a different kind of human being. He can still knock your head into another dimension if he can catch you.

“The thing is, can he catch a 28-year-old guy who’s at the top of his career who is winning legitimate boxing matches? I mean, he’s beating former UFC world champions like Tyron Woodley. Jake had that very good fight with Tommy Fury who’s a legitimate boxer, that was a very good fight. And he just beat up Mike Perry who was a bare knuckle champion.

“He’s a real fighter, he can fight and if Mike Tyson and him are fighting and Mike can’t catch him? Then it’s hard to tell” (h/t MMA Mania).

Rogan’s definition of “legitimate boxing matches” aside, the part-time stand-up comic makes a solid point. Even at almost 60, Tyson has the power to put out anyone’s lights with one clean shot. The question is, will he have the cardio to catch Paul?

“When Mike is hitting pads he looks great, but it’s hard to tell when someone is hitting pads,” Rogan added. “If he can do that for eight rounds, great. But can he do that? I don’t know, he had to pull out of the first fight because he had an ulcer.”

Russell Crowe Comments on Mike Tyson’s return

Gladiator and Cinderella Man star Russell Crowe offered his take on Tyson’s comeback fight, questioning why the legendary pugilist would even choose to slide back into his ‘Iron’ persona after leaving it behind for so long.

“I was quite enjoying the second phase of Mike’s life,” Crowe said. “I was terrified of him as a boxer. He was terrifying. Even when I met him backstage at a stadium one time at a fight, I was like ‘I’m still terrified of you.’ Then that guy he started becoming where he became more exploratory and he was looking into what the meaning of life is and having a smoke every now and then? I was like, I’m enjoying this Mike, I’m liking the evolution.

“What bothers me with this whole thing is that he’s got to kind of slide back into that warrior and I’m just not sure that he needed to do it.”

Mike Tyson’s last professional boxing match was on June 11, 2005, against Kevin McBride. Shortly after, he closed out his iconic career going 50-6 with 44 of his wins coming by way of knockout.

Cristiano Ronaldo answers: MMA or Boxing?

Taking in the action at notable boxing events in Saudi Arabia over the last couple of years, professional footballing icon, Cristiano Ronaldo has provided his opinion on the ever-evolving question: MMA or Boxing?

Ronaldo, a former footballing star for Real Madrid and Manchester United — twice, currently plays his trade in Saudi Arabia, featuring with Pro League side Al Nassr — netting 50 goals for the side since his unceremonious second exit from Old Trafford two years ago.

And spotted side-by-side alongside former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor sat ringside at Francis Ngannou’s boxing match debut with former WBC heavyweight titleholder, Tyson Fury last year in a controversial decision — Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his thoughts on which combat sports he finds better: MMA or Boxing?

Picking mixed martial arts as his preferred combat sports over boxing — despite appearing at Oleksandr Usyk’s title unification clash with the above-mentioned, Fury alongside Saudi adviser, Turki Alalshikh — the veteran Portuguese striker appears to have his preference set on mixed martial arts over combat exclusively in the squared circle.

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Along with his pick of MMA over boxing, Ronaldo claims he would also rather watch the NBA over the NFL, tennis over golf, Formula 1 over it’s motorcycle MOTOGP partner — Ronaldo could not separate between tennis megastars, Novak Djokovic, or Spaniard ace, Rafael Nadal.

When it comes to professional wrestlers, the European Championships winner also sided with The Rock instead of veteran Hulk Hogan, and picked Chicago Bulls icon, Michael Jordan over Golden State Warriors shooter, Stephen Curry.

Hollywood star Russell Crowe recently chatted with the infamous Joe Rogan and shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

Originally scheduled for July 20, the controversial match between Tyson and Paul was canceled due to a flare-up of stomach ulcers plaguing ‘Iron Mike’. Paul was quick to accept a fight with former UFC fighter turned BKFC star Mike Perry, and Paul would leave the ring as the victor after knocking out his opponent in the sixth round.

Now scheduled for November 15, the Tyson vs. Paul fight remains a spectacle that has divided many fans and fighters alike. Many believe the age gap between the 58-year-old boxing legend and young 27-year-old upstart is too prolific. Others, however, are not ready to count ‘Iron Mike’ out and attest to how much of a different beast the man is.

Russell Crowe thinks Jake Paul should be weary of Mike Tyson

Speaking to Joe Rogan, Russell Crowe delved into the enigma that is the legend of Mike Tyson. He spoke on the man’s prowess and admitted that he could still do some damage despite his age.

”58-year-old Mike Tyson is not 50-year-old Mike Jones that lives down the street,” Crowe said. “It’s a different kind of human being. He can still knock your head into another dimension if he can catch you.”

”I was terrified of him as a boxer,” Russell Crowe continued. “He was terrifying. Floyd Mayweather’s return to the ring on Saturday night was fairly uneventful aside from one particular moment in the second round.

Emanating from Arena CDMX in Mexico City, ‘Money’ ran back his June 2023 clash with Gotti III after their first meeting ended in a sixth-round disqualification followed by an all-out brawl between the two corners that eventually spilled to the outside of the ring and backstage.

Unfortunately, there was nothing nearly as entertaining this time around as Mayweather mostly danced around and picked apart his opponent with potshots until the end mercifully came in the eighth round.

Though Mayweather clearly won the fight, no winner was announced as this was just another meaningless exhibition match.

Official Result: Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III fight to a draw (no decision).

However, there was one rather interesting moment in the second where Mayweather fired their referee.

Near the halfway point of the second round, the referee issued a warning to Mayweather for hitting the back of Gotti’s head. ‘Money’ disagreed and essentially told the referee to take a hike. As the undefeated icon began to grow more frustrated, the referee finally made his way out of the ring and a substitute stepped in to take over officiating duties for the remainder of the fight.

Floyd Mayweather is ready for war.

On Saturday night, the legendary pugilist’s exhibition world tour continues as he returns to the ring for a hotly anticipated rematch with John Gotti III, the grandson of American mafioso and boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, John Gotti.

The rematch will go down at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City 14 months removed from their first meeting that ended in an all-out brawl after Gotti was disqualified.

Showing up in style, as he usually does, Mayweather was spotted arriving in a bulletproof tank ahead of their sequel south of the border.

Floyd Mayweather’s Exhibition Tour continues with Gotti rematch in Mexico City

It will be Floyd Mayweather’s eighth exhibition boxing match after wrapping up his pro career with a spotless 50-0 record.

Since 2018, ‘Money’ has made stops in Japan, Florida, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, England, and now Mexico to compete against the likes of Logan Paul, former ISKA world champion Tenshin Nasukawa, and Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of English social media personality KSI.

In his most recent appearance, ‘Money’ squared off with Gotti III in an exhibition bout on June 11, 2023. Less than a minute into the sixth round, referee Kenny Bayless put a stop to things and disqualified Gotti III for excessive holding and trash-talking.

Upset, Gotti III attempted to restart the fight on his own, going after Mayweather in the ring and prompting both corners to pour into the squared circle.

The seven-fight main card will air on DAZN pay-per-view for the price of $49.99 on August 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

DAZN can be broadcast directly on your television via Chromecast, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, LG Smart TV, Samsung TV, Apple TV, PlayStation, or Xbox.
