With his fight against Mike Tyson right around the corner, Jake Paul has the internet talking about his chances against the former unified heavyweight world champion.
On Friday, November 15, ‘The Problem Child’ will square off against Tyson inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Airling live and exclusively on Netflix worldwide, Paul vs. Tyson is expected to be one of the most-watched fights of all time.
Recently, Paul shared footage from a recent sparring session that appears to have gotten the internet’s attention. In the clip, which you can see below, ‘El Gallo’ appears to duck a shot and come back with an overhand right that puts his partner on the canvas.
“Don’t charge at me, Tyson,” Paul said while looking directly at the camera.
Most people were quick to dismiss the clip, many suggesting that Paul landed a good shot on a non-boxer or a journeyman. However, it was later revealed that the man sparring with the YouTube star was actually little-known unbeaten pro boxer DeAndre Savage.
Jake Paul’s Sparring Partner is a 300-pound boxer with a 6-0 record
After more than 20 fights as an amateur, Savage turned pro in 2021 and has rattled off six straight wins, all of them coming by way of knockout. He also has two no-contests on his record that he was expected to win.
Savage stands 6’3″ tall and weighs in at over 300 pounds. He is currently the No. 15 ranked heavyweight according to the World Boxing Association.

Hollywood sensation Sydney Sweeney looks practically unrecognizable as she prepares to take on the role of one of the greatest female boxers in the history of the sport.
Coming off the hit rom-com Anyone But You and the well-received horror flick Immaculate, Sweeney is set to step into the shoes of Christy Martin and tell the story of her rise to become America’s most well-known female boxer in the 1990s. Martin became the first woman to sign with legendary boxing promoter Don King and is the only the only female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Martin became one of the biggest stars in the sport, male or female, but behind all her fame, fortune, and beauty was a woman battling personal demons, toxic relationships, and a horrific attempt on her life.
Preparing to pour herself into the role, Sweeney has undergone an incredible body transformation to portray one of the most iconic figures in women’s sports. She recently offered a sneak peek into her new look for the role via social media.
“Well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film I’m working on right now. over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all,” Sweeney wrote on Instagram. “More to come soon.”
Sydney Sweeney is passionate about bringing Christy Martin’s story to the big screen
Over the last couple of years, Sweeney has become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars with critically acclaimed performances in HBO’s popular series Euphoria and a biopic based on the arrest of real-life whistleblower Reality Winner.
Now, Sweeney appears to be swinging for awards season by portraying a woman whose story is as inspiring as it is tragic.
“Christy Martin not only legitimized female boxing, she overcame gender stereotypes and fought through emotional, physical, and financial abuse,” Sweeney told Deadline. “I’m passionate about the fighting world, Christy’s story shines a light on her incredible rise to the top while showing the struggles of fame behind the curtains. I feel compelled to tell a story about a woman who faced so much adversity and didn’t allow it to defeat her. It’s powerful and emotional.”
Martin went 49-7 in her pro boxing career and captured the WBC female super welterweight title in 2009. A year later, Martin was stabbed several times, shot at least once in her torso, and left for dead by her then-husband, James V. Martin following an argument in their Apopka, Florida home.
Miraculously, Martin survived the attack.
Martin was taken into custody a week later and was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was flabbergasted by the scoring in Saturday night’s undisputed light heavyweight title clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Over the weekend, Beterbiev and Bivol went toe-to-toe in one of the most anticipated boxing matches of the last decade. Luckily for fight fans, the bout lived up to the hype with both fighters slinging leather for much of the 12-round affair.
However, many were left frustrated by what is being called another controversial decision in the sport.
Speaking on the disputable decision immediately following the fight, Hearn vented his frustration over Beterbiev being handed the win.
“I don’t want to disrespect Beterbiev, because they’re both incredible fighters, but I find it sickening that, after a lifetime of hard work, Bivol is not undisputed champion tonight. He won that fight,” Hearn said during the post-fight press conference. “I struggle to find anybody in our row; a row behind, the TV row, who didn’t score the fight to Bivol. To find a judge give that fight 116-112, and give Dmitry Bivol four rounds in that fight; this judge should never work in the sport again.
“Everything you’ll get out of Dmitry is: ‘I can do better; it’s boxing. I take the judges’ scorecard’, but I don’t buy it because you don’t deserve that after that performance. It was an absolute boxing masterclass. It was the perfect performance. He can be better, but that was a pure show of concentration, skill, and defense, with offense thrown in. Bivol is arguably pound-for-pound No. 1 in the sport. He deserves tonight to sit here as the undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world” (h/t BJPenn.com).
Status Reveal Just How Close the Beterbiev vs. Bivol Boxing Bout Truly Was
According to the official stats from Compubox, Beterbiev and Bivol were separated by four or fewer punches in eight out of the 12 rounds while Bivol out-landed Beterbiev by just five punches over the distance. Bivol connected with more jabs, landing 58 to Beterbiev’s 47, but Beterbiev connected on 14 more power punches with the totals being 90 to 84.
Beterbiev landed more shots in six rounds while Bivol won the numbers game in five of them. Both fighters landed nine punches apiece in the sixth round.
Whether you land on the side of Beterbiev or Bivol, most seem to agree that the 116-112 scorecard turned in by Pawel Kardyni was far too wide considering the close nature of the scrap.
With the fight being as tight as it was and the decision being highly debatable, do we see Beterbiev vs. Bivol 2 in 2025?

In a matchup between two undefeated boxers for the world’s undisputed heavyweight championship, Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev have provided the fans with what was seemingly 2024’s most hyped boxing match.
As always is the case with fights like these, one man had to get his undefeated streak snapped, and it happened to be Bivol on October 12th. Bivol was 23-0 and his opponent 20-0 entering the matchup. The world was on standby in anticipation of Beterbiev’s fearsome power rearing its head, but such a thing never came to fruition. The younger Bivol exercised his elusiveness and avoided suffering a knockout at the hands of his fellow Russian menace.
When it came time for the judges’ decision, though, things began to become controversial. Many people had Dmitry Bivol up on the scorecards and were very surprised when the fight was scored for Artur Beterbiev.
Dmitry Bivol speaks on Artur Beterbiev’s power, controversial decision
Bivol was interviewed by iFL TV after the fight, and was asked if Beterbiev’s infamous power was all that it was cracked up to be.
“It’s hard (the punching power), but not as [hard] as people are describing,” Bivol said. “Yeah, it’s hard, you see my eye. He landed a lot of punches on my left hand, through my hand. You see the bruises. He [hits] hard but we can handle these hard punches.”
Many also found the decision itself to be controversial, including Bivol’s promoter Eddie Hearn. He was extremely upset with Beterbiev getting the nod, and harshly criticized the judges.
“I don’t want to disrespect Artur Beterbiev and his team because they’re just incredible fighters,” Eddie Hearn began. But I find it sickening that after a lifetime of hard work Dmitry Bivol is not the undisputed champion tonight. He won that fight, I struggled to find anybody on our row, the row behind, the TV rows who didn’t score the fight for Dmitry Bivol. To find a judge who gave that fight 116-112, and give Dmitry four rounds in that fight, this judge should never work in the sport again.”
Do you think Dmitry Bivol should’ve left the ring victorious?

UFC star Tom Aspinall has gone head to head with boxer Tommy Fury to see who has the hardest punch, and they’ve captured the best moments on video for Aspinall’s YouTube channel.
At 15-3, Aspinall has been a menace to the UFC’s heavyweight division. He’s young, fast, powerful, and technical. Aspinall encompasses a very well-rounded base while also possessing some impressive physical attributes. He’s ended his last three fights via KO/TKO, and obviously, his hands contain some serious dynamite.
On the other hand, you have Tommy Fury, the younger brother of the infamous boxing star Tyson Fury. Tommy Fury and Aspinall are definitely much different in size and stature, but they still wanted to hang out and take a literal swing at things on a punch machine, which turns punching strength into a numerical high score that shines on the machine.
Tom aspinall and Tommy Fury take a swing at things
Fury has been taking time off to recuperate from surgery on his right hand, so the duo started the competition off with some left hooks. Tyson’s little bro clocked in some left hooks at the scores of 827 and 825 but was just paving the way for Aspinall to outshine him. The UFC interim champion didn’t disappoint and took the round with a left hook that scored a whopping 843 to win the first set.
The next round would feature elbows, and it was ironic because Fury seemingly picked the strike, even though one would imagine the MMA fighter Aspinall would have much more practice at throwing elbows. Surprisingly, Tom Aspinall lost this round with a score of 770, and Fury clinched it with a score of 783.
Next came headbutts. These didn’t score very well, and both men scored around 300. Finally, paying homage to Dana White’s slap-fighting league, came slaps. Aspinal took this final round, slapping his way to a high score of 764.
Do you think Tom Aspinall will ever unify the belts in a match against Jon Jones?
The Irish megastar hasn’t stepped foot inside the Octagon for more than three years, but that hasn’t stopped him from calling out pretty much anyone and everyone under the sun. After picking a fight with Ilia Topuria while in the UFC featherweight champion’s home country, McGregor declared himself ready to scrap with YouTube star KSI.
His reason for wanting to do so? the YouTuber’s recently released song ‘Thick of It‘ featuring rapper Trippie Redd.
“Let’s go, mate.” McGregor said when asked about fighting KSI. “I’ll fight him for that bulls*it song he released alone! I’ll fight him for that f*cking song alone. We’re back baby!”
You can listen to the song for yourself below:
KSI only has two professional boxing bouts
While a majority of KSI’s boxing bouts have been exhibition fights, he does have two professional contests to his credit. The first being a split decision win against his Prime Water business partner Logan Paul.
Four years later, he dawned the 10-ounce gloves for a scrap with boxer turned reality TV star Tommy Fury in October 2023. ‘TNT’ won the fight via unanimous decision, much to the chagrin of his countryman.
