Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev has been forming unlikely friendships as of late.

‘The Wolf’ has spent most of the past week training with Darren Till in Sweden and now he has apparently become buds with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chimaev recently reached out to the Manchester United player to invite him to come and watch his next fight. Ronaldo couldn’t make it but did have some words of encouragement for the streaking welterweight contender.

“He has a game that’s why he said he could not come. But he’s going to watch my fight, Chimaev said.

“When [Ronaldo] started following me, I wrote to him, he’s the champ. Then he wrote ‘SMESH EVERYBODY’. 100% brother. Then I invited him to my fight. I’m not a big fan of football, but this guy is big. One of the best guys in the world in football. He’s a nice guy.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

Khamzat Chimaev Has Quickly Become One Of The Biggest Stars In MMA

Chimaev burst onto the scene in the summer of 2020 and made an instant impact when he fought twice in the space of 10 days.

Just 10 days later, Chimaev dropped down to welterweight to take on UFC debutante and Cage Warriors standout, Rhys McKee. This time he looked even better, dominating McKee from the opening bell and finding the finish inside the first round.

In September 2020, Chimaev moved to 3-0 in the UFC as he picked up the biggest win of his career with a spectacular one-punch KO of Gerald Meerschaert. The long-time UFC middleweight was a considerable step in opposition and many suspected that ‘GM3’ could spring the upset. However, Chimaev silenced his doubters with the first punch he landed which closed the show in just 17 seconds.

Chimaev returned from a year-long layoff at UFC 267. ‘The Wolf’ faced the toughest test of his 10-fight career when he squared off against Li Jingliang in Abu Dhabi.

‘Borz’ made the toughest test of his career to date look like a stroll in the park, submitting Jingliang in just over three minutes.

The 27-year-old is expected to face off against Gilbert Burns in his next fight. The welterweight duo have been in talks for what appears to be a number one contender fight for some time but the fight is not finalized although it is expected to take place in April or May.

Do you think Khamzat Chimaev will become the UFC welterweight champ in 2022?

Khabib Nurmagomedov Claims Ronaldo Told Him About His Man United Return One Month Ago

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov knew about Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to return to Manchester United well before the rest of the world did.

According to utdreport, Nurmagomedov said “A month ago he [Cristiano Ronaldo] told me that he was moving to MUFC. I expected this deal to take place. I think that Manchester United is more suitable for him than Juventus. For me, the transition was not a surprise.”

Ronaldo spent six years with Manchester United from 2003-2009 where he won many trophies and awards while dominating the English Premier League. Now 13 years later Ronaldo is back and ready to dominate the league once again for Manchester United.

The greatest Lightweight fighter of all time Nurmagomedov was rumored to have signed with a football team recently. Rumor had it that Nurmagomedov was signing with FC Legion Dynamo, a football club out of Russia. The team is based out of Dagestan which is the hometown of the legendary Nurmagomedov and many other fighters. Those rumors were shot down and called “fake news” by ‘The Eagle’s’ manager Ali Abdelaziz.

Nurmagomedov has been speaking about many things recently including, the “uselessness of ring girls” and how Jose Aldo can’t have another peak in his career. Nurmagomedov has been nicknamed the ‘Karen’ of the MMA world (by up and coming star Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett) with how he has been speaking recently. Although he is not fighting anymore, ‘The Eagle’ is still making headlines and fight fans are eating it up. The more Nurmagomedov talks the more headlines and things we collectively have to talk about. Nurmagomedov has also made the MMA rounds as a coach this year and is a perfect 4-0 as a coach this season.

Do you think Khabib Nurmagomedov will ever play football professionally?

Khabib Nurmagomedov Backed By Cristiano Ronaldo Ahead Of UFC 254

Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has been backed to beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 by Cristiano Ronaldo – one of the greatest football (soccer) players ever.

Nurmagomedov will attempt to unify the lightweight division for a second time in as many fights against ‘The Hightlight’ at UFC 254 in Abhu Dhabi next Saturday (October 24).

The Juventus striker is a big MMA fan and has previously been pictured in training with Nurmagomedov’s biggest foe, Conor McGregor, who he invited to party with Jennifer Lopez. He met Nurmagomedov back in 2018 and presented the undefeated Russian with a Real Madrid shirt.

Ronaldo is currently self-isolating after testing positive for the coronavirus. In order to pass the time while in isolation the Portuguese superstar took part in a social media live stream where he answered questions from fans.

During the Q&A Ronaldo was asked who he was backing at UFC 254.

“Of course, of course, Khabib. Khabib is going to win,” Ronaldo replied.

“My brother. Inshallah,” he added.

Ronaldo is right to back Nurmagomedov at UFC 254. ‘The Eagle’ has established himself as one of the most dominant figures in all of sport throughout his 28 professional MMA fights. Since joining the UFC back in 2012 he has looked as close to perfect as humanly possible. Nurmagomedov has dispatched 11 different opponents without suffering any real damage and rarely losing a round. The 32-year-old has beaten the likes of Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Rafael Dos Anjos, and Edson Barboza to cement his lightweight legacy. He now faces another top contender in Gaethje.

‘The Highlight’ earned his shot at Nurmagomeov in epic style last time out. Gaethje dominated former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson for the vast majority of their UFC 249 main event scheduled for five rounds. Gaethje put such a brutal beating on ‘El Cuccy’ that referee Herb Dean mercifully waved off the fight despite the fact Ferguson was still standing in the fifth and final round. Prior to that Gaethje has scored three consecutive first-round KO’s over James Vick, Edson Barboza and Donald Cerrone.

Do you agree with Cristiano Ronaldo? Will Khabib Nurmagomedov beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 254?
