Attempting to right the wrongs from a catastrophic April night in London, veteran British heavyweight puncher, Joe Joyce looks to avenge his sole professional career loss, as he draws Chinese vintage, Zhilei Zhang for the second bout on the trot – with the pair rematching for interim WBO heavyweight gold this weekend in the capital.

Suffering his first professional loss in 16 fights earlier this year, Joyce, 38, dropped a huge upset loss to veteran Chinese boxer, Zhang at the Copper Box Arena in the English capital, not only seeing his undefeated fall, but also suffering a devastating sixth round TKO loss

An Olympic silver medal winner back in 2008, 40-year-old Chinese heavyweight veteran, Zhang struck interim WBO heavyweight gold with his stunning upset knockout win over Joyce, rebounding to the winner’s enclosure himself after a prior unanimous decision loss to the highly-touted, Filip Hrgovic in August of last year.

Currently, the broadcast for Zhilei Zhang vs. Joe Joyce is set to begin at 5 p.m. ET with preliminary card action, before the event’s main card begins to take action at 10 p.m. ET from the OVO Arena in London, England.

Stipe Miocic warns Tyson Fury against Francis Ngannou's power ahead of boxing match

Ahead of his own Octagon comeback at UFC 295 in November, former two-time heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic has issued a rather frank warning to WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury – claiming that although soon-to-be common-foe, Francis Ngannou may “throw wild” strikes, he packs quite the punch.

Miocic, a former two-time undisputed heavyweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from active competition since he headlined a 2021 pay-per-view event against Ngannou – suffering a thunderous second round KO loss to the Cameroonian in the pair’s heavyweight title rematch.

Featuring just once since them himself, Ngannou unified the heavyweight titles back in January of last year in a unanimous decision win over former interim champion, Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 – defeating the Frenchman over the course of five rounds.

And departing the UFC of his own volition back in January of this year, Ngannou has since penned a multi-fight deal with the PFL (Professional Fighters League) – and is expected to make his promotional debut in the opening quarter of next year as part of a superfight series pay-per-view card.

For Fury, the incumbent WBC champion has been sidelined since December of last year, defeating three-time opponent, Derek Chisora to successfully defend his heavyweight crown.

However, next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Morecambe native, Fury takes on Ngannou in the Batié native’s first-ever outing in the squared circle.

And receiving a slew of warnings ahead of the Middle East showdown, Fury has now been urged to approach his fight with Ngannou with extreme caution – by a former opponent in the form of the above-mentioned, Miocic.

“It will be a good fight, I mean, on paper; No (Francis Ngannou won’t beat Tyson Fury),” Stipe Miocic told UFC light heavyweight contender, Anthony Smith. “But it’s a fight. Anything can happen. He (Francis Ngannou) hits hard and he throws wild.”

Can Francis Ngannoi upset the odds and beat Tyson Fury next month?

Francis Ngannou backed to prove real threat to Tyson Fury the power is real

Former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion has been backed to prove a real, significant threat to Tyson Fury’s undefeated professional boxing record next month – with former champion, Joe Joyce claiming the Cameroonian has a “chance” to spring an upset victory.

Ngannou, a former undisputed champion under the banner of the UFC during his time under the banner of the promotion, is slated to make his professional boxing debut next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – taking on incumbent WBC champion, Fury over the course of 10 rounds.

And sidelined since January of last year, Batié knockout artist, Francis Ngannou has been sidelined since he successfully unified the divisional crowns against former interim titleholder, Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in a one-sided unanimous decision win.

Joe Joyce sings praises of Francis Ngannou’s power ahead of boxing debut

Slated to make his combat sports return next month in the Middle East, Ngannou who has opened and remains a significant betting underdog to defeat Fury in his first boxing out, has a real “chance” to defeat the Morecambe native, at least according to the aforenoted, Joyce.

“I think (Tyson) Fury obviously needs to be switched on, but he’s experienced, he’s got the longer range, he’s taller, so he can keep him at range, but it’s about (Francis) Ngannou coming in,” Joe Joyce told TNT Sports. “But especially with Mike Tyson – he wasn’t a big heavyweight so that’ll be good for him (Francis Ngannou) to get in and if he can nail him with with some big shots, then he’s got a chance.”

“The power’s real if you let him hit you,” Joyce continued. “It only takes one punch in heavyweight boxing so if he can land a good punch – I mean, Fury’s shown he can get up as well, but I’m interested to see this fight.”

Tyson Fury claims he's been offered a fight with Jon Jones by the UFC

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury claims that he received an offer from the UFC to fight Jon Jones.

Fury is set to take on former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, on October 28 in what will be a 10 round fight. The move has split the combat sports world, MMA fans are happy that Ngannou has found success outside the UFC, and boxing fans are outraged that Fury has decided to go for a money grab instead of pursuing an undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury is one of the most talented boxers of this generation and will be levels above Ngannou in terms of pugilistic skill. ‘The Predator’ does hold real power and of course, anything can happen, but his chances of actually knocking out Fury are very slim.

However, Fury has labelled Ngannou as a dangerous fighter and promises to take him just as seriously as anyone else

“I need to be on my A-game,” he said. “There’s more on the line now than in a boxing fight. There’s more riding on this than ever before. (H/T DailyMail)

“If I lose to an MMA guy I’ll never be able to show my face in public again. It’s going to ridicule me – people will chuck it at me forever. Whether the media want to take it as a joke, make no mistake Tyson Fury will leave zero stones unturned and I will come in as the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been to defeat this man.

“If I’m not and I get knocked out, then I want you all to laugh at me. That’s what I want because I deserve it.”

Tyson Fury reveals Jon Jones offer of UFC clash

Fury also revealed that Ngannou was not the only MMA fighter that he had the choice of facing. ‘The Gypsy King’ claimed that he revived an offer from the UFC to fight reigning heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

“That’s 100 per cent true [that Fury received an offer to Jones ],” Fury said. “I’ ‘ve had an offer from the UFC, from [WME] IMG, to fight Jon Jones. Frank Warren knows about it, and my team knows about it. ‘It’s still ongoing and we’re looking to move forward on that for sure. Me and Jon have even spoken about it. It’s definitely a real thing.”
