Vitor Belfort will continue his Brazilian tour on Saturday, when he’ll engage in a rematch with Dan Henderson.

This will be Belfort‘s third straight fight in his home country. With knockout wins in his past two outings, he has become the top contender in the middleweight division behind former champion Anderson Silva. If he beats Henderson at UFC Fight Night 32, Belfort will most likely meet the winner of an upcoming title fight between Silva and champion Chris Weidman.

A loser of his past two fights, Henderson needs a win on Saturday to prove he can still be a contender at 43 years old. Henderson defeated Belfort in the first meeting between the veterans, but that bout occurred years ago under the long-gone Pride FC banner.

In addition the 205-pound main event, a bout between Daniel Sarafian and Cezar Ferreira will determine who really should have won TUF: Brazil 1. Sarafian was supposed to meet Ferreira in the season’s middleweight finals, but an injury ruined his chances to win the competition.

At the conclusion of UFC Fight Night 32, several fighters will join UFC president Dana White for a post-fight press conference, which can be viewed live on the above video player.

Below is the entire UFC Fight Night 32 fight card.

Bellator 107 Results: Cheick Kongo Beats Peter Graham, Wins Season 9 Tournament

Bellator has itself a new heavyweight title contender in French kickboxer Cheick Kongo following his unanimous-decision win over Peter Graham.

The bout saw Kongo handily take the first two rounds by plying his standard clinch-then-knee strategy to great effect. By the third round, Graham was visibly worn out and found himself battered thoroughly standing and on the ground. All three judges would score the fight 30-27 in Kongo’s favor.

Cheick Kongo was famously set free of the UFC following his UFC 159 loss to Roy Nelson. While it seemed highly likely that the heavyweight veteran (who racked up a solid 11-6-1 record in the promotion) would simply return to his long-time home, he followed Wolfslair teammate Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to Bellator.

In his Bellator debut, he defeated British boxer Mark Godbeer to advance to the finals of Season 9’s four-man heavyweight tournament.

His second bout, though, was repeatedly shaken up. While he was originally supposed to face fellow former UFC fighter Vinicius Queiroz (who was booted after a failed drug test after UFC 120), “Spartan” was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. Additionally, the bout was removed from the Bellator 106 card after it was moved from pay-per-view to Spike TV, and the fight was then booked to headline Bellator 107.

Graham, like Kongo, comes primarily from a kickboxing background. While he started off his MMA career with a hideous 1-5 record, he rattled off nine straight wins from there, including wins over former Pride fighter Alexander Emelianenko and former Bellator heavyweight title contender Eric Prindle.

Kongo will face the winner of next week’s heavyweight title bout between champion Alexander Volkov and Vitaly Minakov. When and where, though, remains to be seen.

You can put UFC Fight Night 32 in the books, and you can put an exclamation point at the end of your entry. With six knockouts (and a submission to strikes), the card lacked nothing in the way of emphatic action, and that’s saying nothing of the two (additional) submissions it produced.

Whereas one can argue which finish was best, the most meaningful finish is clearly Vitor Belfort’s knockout over Dan Henderson. Not only does Belfort become the first man to conquer Hendo’s legendary chin, he makes a statement as he closes in on a title shot.

Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Would Consider Dropping Down to Middleweight

For fighters looking to put a charge back into their careers, dropping down a weight class is a common route to travel, and it appears that particular path is one former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is at least considering.

Where the former Pride juggernaut was once one of the most feared strikers in the game, a recent rough patch has served to take huge chunks out of the Brazilian’s mystique. The 31-year-old has been dealt setbacks in three of his last four showings, including his most recent action where he suffered back-to-back losses to Alexander Gustafsson and Chael Sonnen, respectively.

In his bouts with “The Mauler” and the “Gangster from West Linn,” Rua has looked like a shell of his once poetically violent former self, which has bolstered talk of the former 205-pound strap holder’s best days being behind him.

Nevertheless, the former Chute Boxe wrecking machine has never been one to fade in the face of adversity, and he will be looking to get things back on track when he faces James Te Huna at Fight Night 33 on Dec. 7 when the UFC rolls through Brisbane, Australia. His bout with the Aussie slugger will undoubtedly carry a tremendous sense of urgency, as a victory would serve to keep him relevant in the light heavyweight fold, but another loss would certainly push him out of elite-level status for the time being.

When a fighter is staring down the reality of a situation such as the one Rua is currently facing, decisions have to be made to navigate the road ahead. Where his heralded resume and accomplishments would make it hard to completely discount a resurgence at 205 pounds, the current landscape of the division would make that path a difficult one to traverse.

That said, one potential avenue that could yield a bit more promise exists in the middleweight fold. While it has been the better part of a decade since Rua has competed at 185 pounds, he was once a force to be reckoned with in that weight class. With fellow former title holder Lyoto Machida recently making an impressive debut and igniting a title run after dropping down into the division, the idea of Rua cutting down to 185 pounds doesn’t seem so far fetched.

That very topic arose on Friday during the Q&A he hosted prior to the weigh-in for Fight Night 32. The perennial light heavyweight contender was asked about a potential drop down to middleweight, and Rua suggested it was an option he wouldn’t rule out.

“It might happen, but for now I have a fight scheduled,” Rua told the crowd in attendance. “I would have to do some medical exams to see if it’s possible. My normal weight is 228, 231 pounds. Maybe I can and maintain my performance. I would need to think about it, but that’s something that can happen.”

In addition to the circumstances surrounding his bout with Te Huna at Fight Night 33, Rua also has to consider the state of the division he currently competes in. Champion Jon Jones is tied up with Glover Teixeira, and their show down is expected to take place some time in early 2014.

Outside of the title tier at 205 pounds, there is a solid collection of fighters looking to earn championship opportunities with Alexander Gustafsson, Daniel Cormier, Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen being the most notable of the pack. A victory over Te Huna wouldn’t be enough to make a dent in that picture, which could potentially provide motivation for Rua to do his title hunting elsewhere.

Jon Jones Ranked as One of the World’s Top Men in 2013, According to AskMen

Jon Jones has already gained the attention of the entire sports world with his seemingly inhuman level of MMA greatness, and he continues to turn heads towards his sport.

That success has already brought endorsements from companies once thought to be above MMA; Nike and Gatorade. It also got him on the cover of the next UFC video game, whose publisher once dismissed MMA‘s status as a sport, according to UFC President Dana White

Now, according to AskMen, it has made him one of the greatest men of 2013. You can check out their full list (and you totally should) right here.

Jones sits at No. 26 on the list that rates men in fields that include sports, religion, technology, politics, pop culture and more. Jones finds himself sitting between Apple Senior VP of Design Jonathan Ive (who spearheaded development of the iPod, iPhone and iPad) and the surprisingly progressive Pope Francis (who has made waves with his statements on the Catholic Church’s stances on social issues).

The list is highly exclusive, though, and Jones finds himself ranking among major players on the world’s stage, such as Iranian President Hassan Rouhani (No. 31), United States President Barack Obama (No. 17), Russian leader Vladimir Putin (No. 11) and South African civil rights pioneer Nelson Mandela (No. 5).

Looking strictly in terms of sports, Jones finds himself ranked above the likes of former WWE star Dwayne Johnson (no. 45), New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist (no. 44) and Tennis great Andy Murray (No. 32), among others. Remarkably, he finds himself behind only top boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (No. 24), transcendent basketball star LeBron James (No. 21), NFL poster boy Peyton Manning (No. 9) and openly-gay NBA free agent Jason Collins (No. 2).

The list is topped by genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, and CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk.

Obviously, these lists always come with something of an asterisk (obviously Obama and Putin command far more sway over the world than Jimmy Fallon and Drake). Still, seeing a mixed martial artist being realistically pegged as the fifth-most influential figure in sports is something that seemed impossible even a year ago.

Luke Cummo Wanted by Police, Sends out Disturbing Video Blogs While on the Run

Former UFC fighter Luke Cummo is currently on the run from police after getting into a domestic dispute with his ex-wife.

According to sources of the New York Post, Cummo allegedly sent out email threats to his ex-wife in the midst of a custody battle over their two boys.

The Nassau County Police visited his home in Valley Stream, New York on Wednesday with a warrant out for his arrest, and they are still searching for any information on his whereabouts.

Many remember Cummo for his stint on Season Two of The Ultimate Fighter. He immediately became a standout on the reality TV series due to his unassuming appearance and kooky personality. Like former UFC champ Lyoto Machida, Cummo was a known advocate of urine therapy, which is the consumption of one’s own urine for “nutritional benefits.”

After the show, he went on to compete in the UFC for three years before quietly ending his professional career with a 6-6 record.

A friend of Cummo’s informed the New York Post that the former MMA star’s life has been spiraling out of control as of late, and he is currently involved in a custody battle with his ex-wife over their two children:

He’s acting stranger and stranger. If you see his Facebook, you can see some weird stuff. He still trains people but a lot of his MMA brethren have stopped talking to him. He quit fighting, lost his job with the UFC. He’s really losing it.

Strange doesn’t even begin to describe Cummo’s current mental state.

Over the last six months, he has been releasing several disturbing video blogs on his YouTube page. Most of the videos consist of him discussing the use and distribution of medicinal marijuana, but the odd nature of his material has increased significantly in recent months. In one particular blog, he prances around his home while rambling on and on about fictional characters from the movie Transformers.

Perhaps the most disturbing part about this entire ordeal is the fact that Cummo is still sending out blogs and posting photos of himself on Instagram while on the run. In a blog sent out on Wednesday, a friend pleads with Cummo to turn himself in and take care of the situation.

Sadly, Cummo appears to be completely detached from all of the chaos around him. One of his more recent videos depicts a man playing a guitar. As the faceless individual strums away at the instrument, the camera slowly pans back to Cummo, who is hovering quietly over the lens with a blank look on his face.
