Those waiting to find out just what Brock Lesnar tested positive for in an out-of-competition test on June 28 and an in-competition test after his decision win over Mark Hunt at July 9’s UFC 200 may not have to wait long.

Word has arrived from The Los Angeles Times’ Lance Pugmire that Lesnar reportedly tested positive for clomiphene, ironically the same banned estrogen blocker that former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones tested positive for on June 16, causing a baffling cancellation of his awaited championship rematch with Daniel Cormier at UFC 200:

UFC 200, hyped up as the greatest UFC event of all-time, is now appearing to be perhaps one of the biggest busts of all-time, and that’s in no small part due to the bad look that the hulking Lesnar has given them after receiving a pass from the usually required four-month window for un-retiring competitors under the UFC’s new random testing program with USADA.

The substance, clomiphene, has since come under intense focus in the media after it was revealed that Jones had tested positive for it along with another banned substance at yesterday’s (Mon., July 18, 2016) Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) hearing, where “Bones” was granted a temporary suspension until his official punishment is dealt.

As for Lesnar, well, the UFC rented him as a sort of ‘one-off’ from his normal post at WWE, where he’ll appear as part of the SummerSlam 2016 pay-per-view in just over a month. While he certainly brought eyeballs to screens, one has to wonder if the inititally proposed plans for UFC 200 wouldn’t have worked out better without the massive headache and hassle of Lesnar and Jones’ mounting drug test failures.

After all, all Conor McGregor did was refuse to attend a press conference.

For Brock Lesnar fans hoping to see their favorite fighter exonerated, the going just got a bit rockier.

News just arrived from the UFC that Lesnar, who was flagged for a potential USADA violation after he failed a June 28 out-of-competition, also failed an in-competition drug screen for the same substance after his unanimous decision in over Mark Hunt in the co-main event of July 9’s UFC 200.

Read the UFC’s full statement here:

“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar that his in-competition sample collection from July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, has tested positive for the same substance as his previously announced out-of-competition collection on June 28, 2016.

“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

“Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”

Former UFC heavyweight champion Lesnar had made a successful return to the world of MMA after four-and-half years away from the sport, beating fan favorite slugger Hunt heavily for the better part of three rounds at UFC 200.

But since news about his failed out-of-competition test broke last Friday (July 15, 2016), ‘The Super Samoan’ has been incredibly vocal about wanting half of Lesnar’s $2.5 million purse before asking for it all outright.

Overall, it’s jsut a terrible look for the UFC, who had their most hyped – and supposedly ‘biggest & baddest’ – card ever in UFC 200 absolutely ruined by its two main headliners testing positive for banned substances, and in an era when the UFC has spent millions and partnered with USADA to clean up the sport.

Lesnar is scheduled to appear for WWE at Summerslam on August 21, 2016.

Derrick Lewis: We Knew Brock Lesnar Was Juicing, Alistair Overeem Wants To

UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis is coming off his fourth straight victory after defeating Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night 90. UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis is coming off his fourth straight victory after defeating Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night 90. It was Lewis’ second consecutive co-main event slot, and although he wasn’t able to finish the granite-chinned ‘Big Country’ inside the limit, it was no doubt his most high-profile victory to date. The fight with Nelson went down during an incredibly busy fight week, opening up a seven-day period with four UFC cards crammed in.

The fabled UFC 200 came and went, but the massive pay-per-view card was already reeling from the loss of Jon Jones by the time Lewis stepped in the octagon. Having failed an out-of-competition drug test, ‘Bones’ was removed from the July 9 main event rematch with Daniel Cormier on Wednesday July 6. Then in the week following it was Lesnar’s turn, as USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency) claimed their second victim in as many calendar weeks. Lewis was not surprised.

In an interview with MMAFighting.com, ‘Black Beast’ says everyone knew Lesnar was juicing from the jump:

“It was no surprise. It was like Nate Diaz says, there was no surprise about it. Come on man. Look at the guy. Everyone knows he’s juicing. But, that don’t affect me at all. I’ll fight anyone. I’m ready.”

“For sure I’ll fight him,” he said. “When I was fighting in the lower league, I was fighting a lot of guys that was on juice. It doesn’t matter. That don’t help you fight any better, to me. I’ll still be eating fried chicken and McDonalds before my fight, and I feel fine.”

“I guess you got to have security problems if you got do all that,” he said. “But it literally don’t affect me. I don’t care. The sport itself is dangerous. Anything can happen. So if you want to juice, go ahead and juice up. It’s just going to make you more depressed afterwards.”

Brock Lesnar wasn’t Lewis’ only target with his highly humorous trash talk and somewhat outrageous honesty, as he discussed a potential title fight with Alistair Overeem ‘some time next year,’ providing the ‘Demolition Man’ can stay off the juice:

“Maybe against [Alistair] Overeem,” he said. “I think he’s going to beat Stipe [Miocic]. If Overeem can stay clean…I know he’s tempted right now to take them steroids, I know he’s tempted…but if I can stay clean I’d say we can get at it by next year.”

On a more serious note, ‘Black Beast’ reveals how many heavyweights he thins are currently abusing steroids:

“Probably 70 percent,”

“It doesn’t piss me off at all. It’s just stupid for them to do that because they know that they’re getting random drug tests. They’re willing to risk thousands of dollars for something so stupid like that, that’s not even going to help them.”

With the MMA community still trying to put together the pieces of Brock Lesnar’s shocking potential USADA violation in the weeks leading up to his eventual UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt, ‘The Super Samoan’ has apparently had enough.

After issuing a demand asking for half of ‘The Beast’s’ payday or his immediate release, Hunt has predictably been the brunt of a rash of online trash talkers who have presumably come to the defense of Lesnar, calling him innocent until proven guilty. While that’s true under the USADA guidelines, “The Super Samoan” had quite the seething response for those who badmouthed him on the web:

Ouch. It sounds like Hunt isn’t happy, even after a full night to cool down from his demand for half of Lesnar’s pay. It’s hard to blame him, as he fought and was battered by a hulking 265-pound monster, who, if it becomes proven he was on steroids, was chemically enhanced, the exact type of situation the UFC has been trying to get rid of since implementing the new and increased drug testing in conjunction with USADA.

As former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta said when they announced that partnership, “It’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

Indeed it has. But has it been worth it, and will it truly get better anytime soon?

In the words of Nate Diaz – ‘I’m not surprised’ is the standard reaction to the news that broke last night (Friday July 16, 2016). Funnily enough its fellow UFC fighters who are sharing this sentiment about Brock Lesnar’s failed drug test in the wake of USADA’s (United States Anti Doping Agency) second major scalp in the span of two weeks. UFC 200, it seems, is perhaps the most cursed card of all time, as well as the most disappointing. All this drama coincides with the change of ownership of the promotion.

Mark Hunt, who lost a unanimous decision to ‘jacked white boy’ and WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) superstar Brock Lesnar on July 9 has since vocalised his displeasure. After learning ‘The Beast’ failed a dope screen dating back to June 28, ‘The Super Samoan’ has asked for half of Lesnar’s record-breaking $2.5 million purse. Either that, or Hunt will walk.

What seemed to be a successful partnership with the WWE is now turning in to a storm of bad media. Cross promotion between the two gargantuan entities in the middle of UFC 200 now has a sense of tragic comedy about it, and now Brock Lesnar has broken his silence on the failed USADA test. Read his official statement via The Star Phoenix:

“We will get to the bottom of this,”

Yes those eight words are actually how Lesnar responded to this dire mess. In terms of the after thoughts on the supposed-to-be historic show that was UFC 200, there aren’t many other way that the memory of that night could be soured any further.

There are no winners to emerge from this murky situation, only lessons to be learned. Nobody is safe from USADA, and once again some words from popular lightweight Nate Diaz ring true; EVERYONE IS ON STEROIDS!

Mark Hunt Wants Half Of Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 Pay – Or He’s Done

Many in the MMA world were hardly surprised when news broke this evening that Brock Lesnar had been notified by USADA of a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition drug test on June 28, 2016, but only one person had to face – and lose to – him at UFC 200. Many in the MMA world were hardly surprised when news broke this evening that Brock Lesnar had been notified by USADA of a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition drug test on June 28, 2016, but only one person had to face – and lose to – him at UFC 200.

That athlete was Mark Hunt, and he absorbed a smothering beating over the course of three full rounds in the co-main event of July 9’s scandal-ridden event. After fighting multiple heavyweights who later tested positive for PEDs and saying Lesnar was “juiced to the gills,” ‘The Super Samoan’ told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that he wants half of Lesnar’s $2.5 million purse, or he’ll choose to ask the UFC for his immediate release:

“The cheaters get a slap on the wrist and walk off. What penalty or deterrent is there to make them think twice? Nothing. And the [Nevada Athletic Commission], why should these [expletive] get anything? They are not the ones who had to fight with Lesnar or lose [to him]. I lost.”

From the perspective of a Top 10 heavyweight who was blanketed and battered by a hulking beast who was potentially on steroids, it’s understandable as to why Hunt feels the way he does.

UFC 200 was thrown into disarray only three days before showtime when former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was flagged by USADA for another potential violation, this time reportedly for two yet-to-be disclosed drugs. Although he was replaced by Anderson Silva on short notice, the so-called “biggest, baddest card of all-time” was downgraded in the eyes of many, and Lesnar’s potential failure will only further mar what was already a botched spectacle in the first place, regardless of reasoning or fault.

Lesnar and his team will likely request to have his B-sample tested, or with his victory over Hunt a supposed “one-off” from his WWE contract, he may choose to go back to pro-wrestling with a few more millions in the bank; that is, if Hunt doesn’t somehow get his hands on a part of that payday as he’s looking to.

Regardless, the whole scene is just one more bad look for the UFC, Lesnar, and Dana White, who spoke up to say Lesnar had been tested five times and was clean. Of course, he’s innocent until given full process through USADA’s extensive bylines.

With the WWE supposedly enforcing a more stringent Wellness Policy of their own, what’s truly going to be interesting is how Vince McMahon reacts to Lesnar’s potential violations – especially if they’re proven to be valid.
