Against the odds, UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Lemos turned out to be a sleeper hit, with a variety of showcase performances and highlight-reel moments.

Jessica Andrade was able to secure the first standing arm triangle submission finish in UFC history, whilst Claudio Puelles picked up his third kneebar win for the promotion. Charles Jourdain and Marc-André Barriault both also picked up impressive submission victories, whilst the likes of Sergey Khandozhko and Tyson Pedro knocked their opponents out cold. If your were betting over at https://aviatorjeux.fr maybe you won big!?

In the following article, we’ll break down what we at Lowkick MMA believe are the fights to make after UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Lemos.

Jessica Andrade vs. Mackenzie Dern

Whilst Jessica Andrade did call out the winner of Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Weili Zhang 2, there is no knowing when either athlete will be in fighting shape once their bout is over, especially considering how the first fight played out.

Instead, a bout with BJJ specialist Mackenzie Dern makes much more sense. Dern recently defeated Tecia Torres in a competitive, and slightly controversial, three-round war. Currently sitting at No.4 in the strawweight rankings, a win over Dern could well place Andrade in the No.1 contender position.

Claudio Puelles vs. Mark Madsen

After submitting Clay Guida with a kneebar in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Lemos, Claudio Puelles has found himself on a five-fight winning streak. It is clearly time for the talented Peruvian to begin taking on that next level of opposition and forcing himself into that prestigious lightweight top 15.

Mark Madsen is a fighter in a very similar position, having recently defeated Vinc Pichel at UFC 273. Stylistically, a fight between the two men would be extremely intriguing. Madsen has a smothering wrestling-based game, a product of his time competing in the Olympics. However, in order to utilize this skill set, he would potentially be throwing himself right into danger, as Puelles’ submission grappling is among the most lethal in the division.

Maycee Barber vs. The Winner of Erin Blanchfield and JJ Aldrich

Whilst injuries and some slightly less than stellar performances have somewhat taken away the hype behind Maycee Barber, her performance at UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Lemos proved she is still very much a comeptetior in the women’s flyweight division. Barber dominated talented grappler Montana De La Rosa over three rounds, with her clinch work being particularly impressive.

Barber’s division is relatively booked up right now, so she will likely have to take the winner of one of the scheduled bout. A fight that would make a lot of sense for Barber would be against the winner of Erin Blanchfield and JJ Aldrich, both rising prospects who sit in similar positions to Barber in the rankings.

Blanchfield will likely be the favorite to win her fight with Aldrich, and with good reason. The young prospect has looked nothing short of sensation so far in her UFC career. If you are looking to back her, then Jeux de l Avion is the place to go for the best odds around.

Charles Jourdain vs. Edson Barboza

Charles Jourdain’s submission stoppage over Lando Vannata was especially impressive considering many believed it would be Vannata who would have the grappling advantage in this fight. Whilst it was Vannata who initiated the takedown, Jourdain was quick to react, locking up a tight guillotine that quickly had his opponent tapping.

Jourdain took to the mic and respectfully called out Edson Barboza. There doesn’t seem any reason not to book this fight, with Jourdain rising in the rankings and Barboza struggling as of late. It would be the perfect prospect vs. veteran matchup that would determine just how far Jourdain can go in this 145lb division.

Picks for the rest of UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Lemos

  • Amanda Lemos vs. Luana Pinheiro
  • Clay Guida vs. Rick Glenn
  • Montana De La Rosa vs. Gillian Robertson
  • Lando Vannata vs. Makwan Amirkhani
  • Marc-André Barriault vs. Puna Soriano
  • Jordan Wright vs. Abu Azaitar
  • Sergey Khandozhko vs. Jack Maddalena
  • Tyson Pedro vs. Alonzo Menifield
  • Aoriqileng vs. Chad Anheliger
  • Preston Parsons vs. Mike Malott
  • Phillipe Lins vs. Azamat Murzakanov
  • Dean Barry vs. Viacheslav Borshchev

Time will tell if the UFC agrees with these picks, but should you wish to begin making money on fights such as these, CNN has an article dealing what you need to know about online sports betting.

Former undisputed UFC strawweight champion, Jessica Andrade managed to land an extra $50,000 post-fight bonus following UFC Vegas 52 last night in Las Vegas, Nevada – stopping the #10 ranked contender, Amanda Lemos with a stunning, history-making standing arm triangle win in the first round

Jessica Andrade, who made her first Octagon outing at the strawweight limit since July 2020 in last night’s main event outing against compatriot, Lemos, entered her third promotional headliner off the back of a dominant flyweight win over Cynthia Calvillo back in September at UFC 266.

The Parana native managed to make good on her weight class return to boot last night, stopping Lemos with an Octagon-first standing arm triangle in the opening round.

Linking up with Lemos inside the clinch, Jessica Andrade quickly powered her fellow South American to the Octagon fence, sinking up in an eventual arm-triangle – and without tripping Lemos to the canvas, forcing the tap from a vertical position.

Earning a post-fight bonus, Andrade’s standing arm triangle win earned her a Performance of the Night bonus – scooping her eighth career submission win to boot.

The night’s co-headliner also produced our other Performance of the Night bonus, with Peruvian grappler, Claudio Puelles stopping promotional veteran, Clay Guida with a stunning opening frame kneebar submission win. Puelles managed to land his whopping third kneebar win in the UFC with last night’s victory, and comes as the only one in UFC antiquity to land more than one kneebar win.

Earning Fight of the Night bonuses, welterweight strikers, Dwight Grant and Sergey Khandozhko battled in a hard-fought two round affair – with the latter eventually rallying and finishing Grant with a knockout after suffering a knockdown of his own.

Jessica Andrade landed the strawweight championship with a slam KO win over current best, Rose Namajunas

With Andrade’s victory, the Brazilian moves herself into prime position to likely challenge for strawweight gold in the future again, ahead of next month’s undisputed title rematch between two-time opponent, champion, Rose Namajunas, and challenger, inaugural division-best, Carla Esparza.

Former UFC strawweight champion Jéssica Andrade made quick work of Amanda Lemos in her return to the 115lb division at UFC Vegas 52.

Not only did Andrade earn a massive win for her career, but she also made an extra $50,000 in the process.

Andrade and lightweight Claudio Puelles earned ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses at UFC Vegas 52 while a welterweight battle between Sergey Khandozhko and Dwight Grant earned ‘Fight of the Night’.

Andrade put on arguably one of the best performances of her storied career against Lemos, securing a rare standing arm triangle submission in the first round. She made the move back to strawweight following a flyweight win over Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 266.

Andrade moves closer to a potential strawweight title shot with her win. She’ll likely face another top contender in her next outing.

In addition to Andrade, Puelles also earned an extra $50,000 for an impressive first-round submission of Clay Guida. In the co-main event, Puelles used superb technique to secure a nasty kneebar submission against the veteran Guida.

Puelles has now won five in a row in the UFC Octagon, with three of his wins coming by way of kneebar.

The FOTN went to an exciting preliminary card welterweight showcase between Grant and Khandozhko. The two fighters went toe-to-toe on the feet, with each man landing plenty of powerful strikes that wobbled their opponent.

After nearly two full rounds of action in the Octagon, Khandozhko landed an overhand left that stunned Grant and forced him to cover up against a barrage of follow-up punches.

Khandozhko made his return to the UFC following a 17-month hiatus. He made the most of his opportunity and he and Grant earned post-fight bonuses for their efforts.

UFC lightweight Claudio Puelles made a statement at UFC Vegas 52 tonight by earning a quick submission win over veteran Clay Guida.

After Guida landed a takedown, it didn’t take long for the American to become hopelessly ensnared in the jiu-jitsu of Puelles. It was Puelles’ fifth UFC win in a row and his third via kneebar. With such slick submission skills, the 26-year-old Peruvian looks like he could pose problems for much of the lightweight division.

You can catch all the highlights of the co-main event below.

UFC Fight Night 129 emanated tonight (Saturday, May 19, 2018) from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The main event saw Kamaru Usman and Demian Maia lock horns in a welterweight contender matchup. Usman would win by unanimous decision, but he did not receive one of the post-fight bonuses.

The Fight of the Night went to main card flyweights Andrea Lee and Veronica Macedo. Lee controlled much of the action with her takedowns and top control, but she did serious damage to the body with her clinch knees as well. Macedo went for submissions whenever she could and hurt Lee at one point with a pair of head kicks. But “KGB” largely dominated the fight, putting it on Macedo in every round. Both women banked an extra $50,000 for their efforts.

The first Performance of the Night came in the very first fight. Claudio Puelles was on the receiving end of a bad beating from Felipe Silva for nearly all of their fight, getting dropped twice and nearly finished. But the referee let it continue, which worked out well for Puelles. After getting forced to the mat again by Silva, Puelles latched onto a leg and rolled for a kneebar. Silva had escaped one earlier but not this time. He was forced to tap out, giving Puelles the shocking come-from-behind victory, his face a swollen mess.

The other Performance of the Night went to Gabriel Benitez, who flattened Humberto Bandenay in just more than 30 seconds. Benitez dropped the Peruvian in short order but quickly found himself ensnared in an armbar. He lifted Bandenay up and slammed him then punched him out cold. The quick knockout was a reversal of Bandenay’s UFC debut in which he head kicked Martin Bravo for his own sub-one minute knockout. Both Benitez and Puelles took home an extra $50,000 for their exciting finishes.
