Conor McGregor continues to have some fun with Conan O’Brien and Mark Wahlberg over ownership stake in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It’s no secret that McGregor wants shares in the UFC. The “Notorious” one has been talking about ownership stake since Endeavor purchased the promotion. During negotiations for a July return, McGregor kept pushing […]

The hype is steadily beginning to build for Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2. After a brief but massively entertaining rivalry before UFC 196, McGregor and Diaz were swiftly scheduled for a rematch at UFC 200 UFC 202. On just 11 days notice, replacing lightweight champ at the time, Rafael dos Anjos, Diaz was able to end McGregor’s impressive six-year streak with conviction. Wobbled and lot on the mat, ‘The Notorious’ tapped to a tight rear naked choke to conceive his first loss under the UFC banner.
With the 145-pound title now at the interim stage with Jose Aldo defeating Frankie Edgar at UFC 200, there have been a lot of questions about McGregor’s will to cut back down. He fought on March 5 as a welterweight and will do so again on August 20, but take weight out of the equation for a second. If the Irish striker can defeat his Stockton rival at UFC 202, what’s to stop a trilogy fight being booked just as quickly as the rematch?
With such a colourful rivalry, Diaz and McGregor make for great viewing. Take yesterday (July 26, 2016) with Nate Diaz appearing on the Conan O’Brien show. A recorded message by ‘The Notorious’ was played for Diaz during the now ultra-popular Diaz’s segment. The resulting troll reminded us of just how fun their rivalry can be, also leading to musings about a rubber match if the Irishman can get the win back: We’ll have to wait another tree weeks before we see exactly how the rematch plays out, but you can bet your bottom dollar the rivalry will get far more fierce as we approach August 20. Will the featherweight champion score welterweight revenge, or will it be the Stockton bad boy who remains ‘not surprised?’

Every time I hear that Marlon Wayans has another fart-joke-disguised-as-a-movie coming out, I have to remind myself that this is the man who wrote/starred in Don’t Be a Menace and Scary Movie or I’d probably walk into oncoming traffic. I mean, sure, Wayans has been relentlessly eroding our cultural understanding of things like “satire” and “parody”for over a decade now, but it’s hard to blame him when you realize how much money he is making to do so. Despite appearing to be a talentless hack like myself on the outside, Wayans is probably still a generally funny guy (unlike myself) on the inside, right?
Well, his recent appearance on Conan would seem to suggest otherwise. Apparently a big fan of our fair sport, Wayans recently appeared on Conan to promote his latest effort, Ghost Fart 2, and the topic eventually shifted to a tweet he had sent out about another Conan alum, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. “This is hot!! Girl on girl! #ufc @ufc @rondaroussey I just wanna smell her training gloves and feet wraps…” wrote Wayans during Rousey’s staredown with Sara McMann, which the UFC bizarrely chose to retweet because hey! A sort-of famous person acknowledged us!
In any case, Conan called out Wayans for his tweet, and Wayans proceeded to discuss his fantasy of having Rousey armbar his penis. It was the kind of joke you’d expect from the guy who honestly thought White Chicks was a funny enough premise to run with for 90 minutes, and I fully expect either Rousey or Dana White to respond negatively to it in the coming days.

Not to overexpose you to Strikeforce champion Ronda Rousey (as if that were possible) but we just saw a clip of her recent appearance on the Conan O’Brien show and she caught our eye and ear. Conan asked Ronda if women fighters stick to the old maxim prevalent in male fight camps – no sex before a fight.
Ronda, bless her soul, said that rule was rubbish for women. In fact, she said, sex is good for women (told you, Lindsey!) fighters (oh, ok) before a fight because it increases their testosterone. She also said that although she doesn’t know the science behind it, it might be that women suck it out of men during sex…alright.

Rousey is getting pretty good at this fight promotion thing, isn’t she? Combine her charisma and sexuality with the fact that she is a savage in the ring and apparently simply hates other fighters’ arms, and she’s the total package. And, oh yeah, she’s totally single so maybe if you get your groupie ass to San Diego in the third week of August you might have a shot with the champ.
No you won’t.
In any case, watch the full clip above and then watch Rousey defend her Strikeforce belt against Sarah Kaufman August 18th on Showtime.
