Nate Diaz fired back at Jon Jones with a PED accusation amid the ongoing GOAT discussion.

Conor McGregor sparked the debate when he claimed he was on his way to becoming the GOAT of the sport as he ranked himself second just behind Anderson Silva. Diaz responded soon after claiming he was the GOAT since he choked out McGregor in their first meeting.

Jon Jones — who many regard as a contender for the accolade — already took umbrage with McGregor’s rankings and decided to poke fun at Diaz’s post soon after.

“Now this guys the goat? This is just starting to get ridiculous ?????

Diaz Fires Back At “Bones”

Diaz didn’t take too kindly to that post.

On Sunday, he retorted back by claiming nobody would remember Jones for his fights and hinted his legacy would be more about his failed drug tests.

“No ones gonna remember your fights ?

Diaz has long been against the use of steroids and notably claimed everyone in the sport were on them. In this case, he is referring to Jones’ two failed drug tests in 2016 and 2017 that each saw him get suspended for a year. Let’s not forget the whole picogram episode, either.

Jones hasn’t responded at the time of writing, but it should only be a matter of time before he does given how active he is on social media in general.

Conor McGregor has been offered the next shot at UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman by his manager Ali Abdelaziz. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has been linked to a fight with BMF titleholder and the number one contender at welterweight Jorge Masvidal. The two fighters have been building a rivalry for months, exchanging shots online and nearly coming to blows at Super Bowl weekend earlier this year.

UFC president Dana White has since said he is working on something different for Masvidal besides fighting Usman and many have suspected he could be next in line for a shot at the money man of MMA, Conor McGregor. Although based on his social media activity last night it seems ‘Gamebred’ is more interested in running things back with Nate Diaz. ‘Gamebred’ was reacting to Diaz labelling himself the baddest motherf*cker in the game despite the fact he lost to Masvidal for that honour at UFC 244 last year.

Speaking on Twitter the MMA manager offered McGregor a chance to win a belt in his third UFC weight class after Masvidal began looking elsewhere for a fight. Abdelaziz even claimed Usman wouldn’t look for the takedown for the first couple of rounds in order to sweeten the deal, he wrote

“It looks like #1 contender wants to fight Nate Diaz now . Good for him @TheNotoriousMMA hey you want a title shot ? Come to daddy @USMAN84kg will give you one and he promise first 2 rounds without takedowns only slaps.”

Usman hasn’t fought since making a successful first title defence against Colby Covington late last year. The 33-year-old scored a fifth-round stoppage win in a back and forth war which was undoubtedly one of the best fights 2019 had to offer.

McGregor fought earlier this year for the first time in a while and it was at welterweight. ‘Notorious’ took on MMA veteran Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and needed only 40 seconds to find the finish and get himself back in the win column.

Jon Jones Shares Title Fight Win Stats To Debunk Conor McGregor’s GOAT List

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has really taken his low ranking on Conor McGregor’s GOAT list to heart. Yesterday the Irishman started a thread on social media and began discussing who are the four best MMA fighters of all time.

Middleweight legend Anderson Silva was number one on the list. McGregor ranked himself as the second greatest fighter of all-time, followed by Georges St-Pierre in third and Jon Jones in fourth. ‘Notorious explained why Jones is only fourth on his list saying the 250lb great had been involved in several boring fights, had enjoyed some favourable decision and refuses to jump up in weight, he wrote.

“Jon is 4. Maybe tied 3. More array of finishes than 3 and still active, but champion status in just 1. Reasons = Multiple lacklustre decision performances + questionable decision win. Attempting to safe play HW entry/avoiding its champion.”

McGregor also said Jones can improve his position in the GOAT list and even offered the champ some tips on how to become the greatest fighter of all-time.

“I said 4, maybe 3. This here is No.2 in Rolex’s, and with only 2 in play. I like Jon. Still active, can climb higher. Must shake repetitive iddybiddy knee kick habit he has, learn to box backwards, take divisional jump fearlessly, then most important of all, win it in full style.”

Jones was initially not happy about hearing of his low ranking on the list but said he’d let the fans defend his position as the GOAT. The light-heavyweight champ has quickly backtracked on that notion and began releasing some numbers which support his case for being the greatest fighter in history.

As you can see Jones has 14 wins in title fights with zero defeats – some very impressive stats. Anderson Silva and George St-Pierre also make an appearance on the list but McGregor is nowhere in sight. The Irishman has of course never defended a belt during his career and this is something Jones was keen to point out captioning the image, “Goat where you at.”

Do you think these stats released by Jon Jones prove he is the greatest fighter of all-time?

Khabib Nurmagomedov Roasts Conor McGregor For His MMA GOAT List

Khabib NurmagomedovUFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was not happy to see Conor McGregor rank himself as the second-best fighter ever. Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was not happy to see Conor McGregor rank himself as the second-best fighter ever. McGregor shocked fans and annoyed his rivals yesterday when he took to social media and started his GOAT thread in which he gave his opinion on the four greatest fighters ever and even ranked them.

Middleweight legend Anderson Silva topped the list. In second place was McGregor himself, although he notes if he had taken drug test failings into consideration, he would have ranked himself as the greatest fighter of all-time. Next is Georges St-Pierre and in fourth spot is current light-heavyweight king Jon Jones who was also not happy with the rankings.

One obvious omission from the McGregor GOAT list is of course Nurmagomedov. The undefeated Russian has dominated all of his opponents, McGregor included during his impressive UFC run.

Speaking out on social media Nurmagomedov slammed McGregor for ranking himself so highly and reminded his bitter rival about his history of tapping out in fights, he wrote.

“You tapped out in featherweight , you tapped out in lightweight and you tapped in welterweight , you never defended title in the UFC or Cage Warriors , you gave up more than GSP , Spider and Bones all together. you greatest UFC fighter in Twitter history.”

Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since beating Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 last year. He was supposed to meet Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 but travel issues forced his withdrawal from the fight. As of right now, it remains unclear when he will fight again due to the fact his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is gravely ill due to complications stemming from catching the coronavirus.

Nurmagomedov wasn’t the only former McGregor opponent to fire back at the Irishman for ranking himself so high up on his own GOAT list. Nate Diaz took to social media to claim his win over ‘Notorious’ makes him the greatest fighter of all-time.

Nate Diaz has labelled himself the greatest fighter of all time in response to Conor McGregor’s GOAT list which was released earlier today. The Irishman ranked only Anderson Silva ahead of himself on the list. While George St-Pierre is third on his list and light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is fourth. McGregor did go on to say he hadn’t taken failed drugs tests into consideration when making his list – had he done so he believes that would make him “the clear” MMA GOAT.

“I didn’t mentions PED results on multiple entrants, even though that makes me the clear current No.1 MMA GOAT, along with still being active, McGregor wrote. “Although it shames, as well as puts all runs+finishes in complete doubt, I’ve snored multiple juice heads. A true GOAT must do it all.”

Long-time rival Nate Diaz who was the first fighter to beat McGregor inside the octagon has taken to social media to declare himself the greatest for stopping the Irishman in a more impressive fashion than anyone else, he wrote.

“Smoked the #1 p4p and double champ know the real Goat when you see him. And don’t for get I did it better and quicker than anyone else on the ground and sent him down with punches quicker than Mayweather did so fuck alll y’all rankings and know a real goat when you see me. P4p the baddest motherfucker here fuck all y’all.”

Diaz stepped up on late notice to fight McGregor in a welterweight bout at UFC 196 in March 2016. The Ultimate Fighter winner caused a monumental upset on the night to submit the reigning featherweight champion inside two rounds.

A few months later and McGregor would get his revenge in one of the greatest MMA fights of all-time. Both men went to war over five hard rounds but it was the Irish fighter who emerged victorious by way of a majority decision.
