Jon Jones heralded as greatest of all time Darren Till nobody will surpass him UFC

Although the topic of the MMA GOAT conversation is always hotly contested, former UFC superstar Darren Till has revealed who he believes to be the greatest UFC fighter of all time.

At one time one of the most hyped prospects in the UFC, Till reached the upper echelon of both the welterweight and middleweight divisions only to fall short in the fights that mattered most. Despite those shortcomings, ‘The Gorilla’ remains one of MMA’s most beloved personalities for his hilarious antics and memorable wars in the octagon.

Now released from the UFC and claiming to just be taking a break from the sport, the future of Darren Till is looking questionable. With no indication of when and if he will return, fans can only hope that we haven’t seen the last of ‘The Gorilla’ inside of the UFC.

Recently taking to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter: Darren Till shared his thoughts on who he believes to be the greatest fighter of all time in UFC history. As well as giving a prediction for that fighter’s next fight.

Darren Till labels Jon Jones as definitive MMA GOAT

Jon Jones is the greatest mma fighter of all time,” Darren Till posted. “Not athlete. Fighter. Dont think anyone will surpass him in my opinion…”

“Just to add as well,” Till continued. “I think he runs over Stipe who btw I am a big fan of also and think is the HW goat. Anyone wants a bet with me I’ll be taking big bets on this one.”

At 27-1-1NC, Jon Jones is a lot of people’s sure bet for an MMA GOAT. Like him or not, the man has accomplished things in the sport that nobody else really has. 15 title fight victories and a champion of multiple divisions only add to the list of unreal accomplishments that Jones has obtained over a controversial career.

Is Jon Jones also at the top of your list of the greatest MMA fighters of all time?

Darren Till claims fans have no clue what goes on after worrying photo emerges UFC

Former undisputed welterweight title challenger, Darren Till has claimed fans have no clue what is going on with him amid his absence from combat sports – after a worrying picture of the Liverpool native appeared on social media overnight.

Till, a former welterweight title challenger and middleweight contender under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from active combat sports competition since he featured most recently on the main card of UFC 282 back in December of last year, suffering a third round rear-naked choke submission loss to current division number one contender, Dricus du Plessis.

Calling for his UFC release off the back of his third consecutive defeat, Till had fought a winless run following a prior rear-naked choke loss to recent UFC departure, Derek Brunson, and former undisputed champion, Robert Whittaker – both in main event clashes.

Darren Till claims “it’s all good” amid fan worry for his health

And linked with a return to combat sports in the form of professional boxing, or a showdown of sorts with surging BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) star, Mike Perry, Liverpool native, Till has claimed “none of you have a clue” after a worrying photo emerged on social media of the 30-year-old.

“It’s all good, it was just after a hard session in the gym this morning,” Darren Till replied to a worried user on social media platform, X. “This is me about an hour after food. Feel like I am no looking bad to be fair. I read all the comments for once as well and none of you have a clue. I live a clean live. Injuries is what has been my burden.”

Without a victory since a middleweight divisional bow back in 2019, Till secured a close, debated split decision win over one-time interim title challenger, Kelvin Gastelum at Madison Square Garden, and during his time away from the Octagon – had insisted he would make a return and capture middleweight gold.

Darren Till doesn’t see Conor McGregor ever returning to the Octagon.

Despite sitting on the shelf for more than two years, Conor McGregor has continued to dominate the headlines thanks to his never-ending string of callouts and confusing voice notes on X (formerly Twitter). The Irishman has remained insistent that his return would come at the final UFC pay-per-view of the year, but new reports, and comments from the man himself, have seemingly ruled out that possibility.

Still, McGregor insists that a UFC return is imminent while many fight fans and fighters feel like all of the former two-division champ’s competitive juices have evaporated.

In a recent interview, ex-UFC standout Darren Till suggested that Conor McGregor is done in UFC and simply can’t come to terms with the fact that his days as an elite mixed martial artist are behind him.

“Conor’s never coming back, in my opinion,” Till told SportsLens. “Conor’s struggling to let go. He doesn’t want to let it go. But it’s time to let go. He’s older, he doesn’t train like he used to. He’s got the money and his beautiful kids, and the only problem is that he just does not want to let it go. There’s going to come a day where he realizes he’s fighting with himself and has to let go.

“Every recording on Twitter he’s just drunk as f*ck and I’m just crying my eyes out laughing at him. It will take him a while, but he’ll find his peace. My opinion of Conor is you have to respect what he’s done, but it’s time to let go. He’s struggling to let go” (h/t MMA Fighting).

However, Till does believe it’s possible that Conor McGregor will prove him wrong make a comeback at some point.

“Maybe he’s not [struggling to let go],” Till said. “Maybe he’s going to come back and prove us all wrong. He might just not be ready in terms of testing or he just wants to keep his name out there and he’s thinking in terms of next year. It’s tough to know. He’s a smarter businessman than most, so you have to trust what he’s doing.”

Only time will tell if Till’s theory about Conor McGregor proves to be true.

Darren Till is Ready to Step Inside the Squared Circle

After dropping five of his last six bouts inside the Octagon, Darren Till was granted his release from the UFC in February to pursue other avenues outside of the Octagon. Till is yet to sign on the dotted line, but the former middleweight standout is chomping at the bit to get back to work, setting his sights on a potential boxing match with a bevy of top-tier talent.

Recently, Till accepted a challenge from BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry to compete on Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ on October 14. If that fight doesn’t work out, Till is happy to strap on the eight-ounce gloves for any influencer looking to test their mettle against a legitimate fighter.

“I need to fight now. I’m so ready to fight,” Till said. “I’ve put a lot of time and effort and hard work in. As you can see, my shape has changed considerably this year. I’ve really dedicated myself this year, I really have. I just can’t wait to fight now. Mike Perry, Logan Paul, Dillon Danis, Jake Paul, Nate Diaz. Any f*cking one, any f*cking time. I’m ready.

“As always they can say you got beat in your last fight or whatever, but I’ve always showed up and I’ve always fought, injuries or not. I’m just so ready for it. I’m feeling powerful and big, so I probably need to trim up a little bit, but I’m good and I’m confident. I just want to get some sparring done and then get in there and just savagely beat someone or savagely get beaten myself! So what!”

Darren Till

Darren Till is ready to step inside the squared circle for a crossover clash with fellow former UFC standout, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

Perry has been calling for a fight with Till ever since a 2018 sparring match put the pair at odds with one another, but Till appears to finally be ready to sign on the dotted line.

On Tuesday, Perry revealed himself to be the official backup for the highly anticipated grudge match between social media sensation Logan Paul and BJJ specialist Dillon Danis. However, Perry is more than open to strapping on the eight-ounce gloves for a guaranteed spot on the card, so long as it means finally getting his hands on Darren Till.

“I’ve been calling [Till] out for bare-knuckle, Perry said in an interview with Jamal Niaz. “Bare Knuckle’s been trying to get that, but I’m already here in England. I was talking bout Anthony Taylor talking sh*t on Twitter and Darren Till, we can put the gloves on since you’re scared to do it bare-knuckle. I’ll knock you out with eight-ounce gloves on.

“I’ll be ready to fight. I’m training. I’ll be a stand-in. They gotta pay me regardless. I’m here for a check and that could get a lot bigger if I’ll be fighting on the card. That card could get a lot bigger if I’m fighting on the card, especially with a name like Darren Till” (h/t MiddleEasy).

Darren Till is Ready to Settle Things with Mike Perry in the Squared Circle

Shortly after, Perry reposted the interview and tagged Darren Till, asking if ‘The Gorilla’ was up for a fight. It didn’t take long for Till to respond, accepting the challenge laid down by the BKFC star.

“I say yes let’s go,” Till wrote in response.

Darren Till walked away from the UFC after dropping five of his last six fights inside the Octagon. ‘The Gorilla’ has expressed interest in re-signing with the promotion in the future, but perhaps he’ll settle a little business with Mike Perry first.

“I’m sure I could go in there and f*ck Mike Perry up, as we were meant to fight,” Till told MMA Junkie back in March. “Make a bit of money, get the body healthy, and whether the UFC like it or not, get back to the UFC. That’s still my main focus. They’re going to approach me, but if they are going to approach me, don’t waste my time. Offer me something astronomical. Otherwise, nope. I don’t need it.”

One way or another, Mike Perry will be in Manchester on October 14 as Misfits Boxing presents ‘The PRIME Card’ on pay-per-view. The event will feature co-headlining bouts, the first being the aforementioned scrap between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. In the main event of the evening, UK-based social media star KSI will return to the ring for a showdown with undefeated pro boxer, Tommy Fury.

Darren Till suggests boxing match with UFC veteran Nate Diaz I want to fight an OG

Sidelined from combat sports since a stunning submission loss to the surging, Dricus du Plessis back in December of last year, former UFC welterweight title challenger, Darren Till has suggested a boxing move and subsequent fight with recent feature and fellow promotional alum, Nate Diaz next.

Till, a former undisputed welterweight title challenger under the banner of the UFC, made his most recent and ultimately final Octagon walk back in December of last year at UFC 282, suffering his third consecutive loss in the form of a submission defeat to the aforenoted South African, du Plessis.

The defeat followed a prior rear-naked choke loss to veteran middleweight contender, Derek Brunson, and a decision loss to former undisputed division champion, Robert Whittaker in back-to-back headliners for the Liverpool striker.

And revealing he made a request to the UFC to grant him his release from the organization ahead of an eventual comeback as he continues to deal with a slew of knee injuries, Team Kaobon mainstay, Till has been linked with a venture to the squared circle.

Darren Till suggests boxing clash with Nate Diaz in fighting comeback

In terms of opponents for the counter striker, Till has weighed up a fight with surging BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) star, Mike Perry, and earlier today, suggested a showdown with former UFC lightweight title chaser and recent boxing debutante, Diaz.

“I would like to box one of the OG’s of the fight game @NateDiaz209,” Darren Till posted on his official X account.

For Diaz, the Stockton veteran and fan-favorite most reently featured in a professional boxing debut just earlier this month in Dallas, Texas – going 10 rounds with the outspoken puncher and YouTuber, Jake Paul, where he suffered a rather comprehensive decision loss to the Ohio native

Former UFC middleweight contender and welterweight title challenger, Darren Till appeared in court this morning, facing three charges in relation to driving offenses, after he is alleged to have been driving whilst disqualified last month.

Till, 30, of Bianca Street, Bootle, has been charged with driving while disqualified on Ternhail Road, Fazakerley last month. The Team Kaobon MMA trainee was also charged with driving without insurance, as well as obstructing a constable in execution of duty.

Represented by a Mr. Williams in court this morning, Till, who departed the UFC upon request at the beginning of this year, only spoke to confirm his name, address, and age – with his solicitor confirming he would be entering pleas of not guilty to all three charges brought against him.

18-5-1 as a professional, Darren Till’s most recent Octagon outing came in the form of a UFC 282 appearance against South African contender, Dricus du Plessis back in December, suffering a third round face crank submission loss to the middleweight.

The defeat came as Darren Till’s three consecutively, following a prior submission loss to Derek Brunson, and a decision defeat to former undisputed middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker in back-to-back main event fights.

Challenging for undisputed UFC welterweight gold back in September 2018 in the main event of UFC 228, Till, then boasting an undefeated record, suffered a second round D’Arce choke to Tyron Woodley, before he was finished with a brutal second round KO by Jorge Masvidal in a UFC Fight Night London main event the following March.

Earlier this year, Till confirmed his exit from the Octagon and the UFC, however, insisted he would return to the promotion in the future, with his sights set firmly on reaching champion status within the organization’s middleweight division
