Darren Till doesn’t see Conor McGregor ever returning to the Octagon.

Despite sitting on the shelf for more than two years, Conor McGregor has continued to dominate the headlines thanks to his never-ending string of callouts and confusing voice notes on X (formerly Twitter). The Irishman has remained insistent that his return would come at the final UFC pay-per-view of the year, but new reports, and comments from the man himself, have seemingly ruled out that possibility.

Still, McGregor insists that a UFC return is imminent while many fight fans and fighters feel like all of the former two-division champ’s competitive juices have evaporated.

In a recent interview, ex-UFC standout Darren Till suggested that Conor McGregor is done in UFC and simply can’t come to terms with the fact that his days as an elite mixed martial artist are behind him.

“Conor’s never coming back, in my opinion,” Till told SportsLens. “Conor’s struggling to let go. He doesn’t want to let it go. But it’s time to let go. He’s older, he doesn’t train like he used to. He’s got the money and his beautiful kids, and the only problem is that he just does not want to let it go. There’s going to come a day where he realizes he’s fighting with himself and has to let go.

“Every recording on Twitter he’s just drunk as f*ck and I’m just crying my eyes out laughing at him. It will take him a while, but he’ll find his peace. My opinion of Conor is you have to respect what he’s done, but it’s time to let go. He’s struggling to let go” (h/t MMA Fighting).

However, Till does believe it’s possible that Conor McGregor will prove him wrong make a comeback at some point.

“Maybe he’s not [struggling to let go],” Till said. “Maybe he’s going to come back and prove us all wrong. He might just not be ready in terms of testing or he just wants to keep his name out there and he’s thinking in terms of next year. It’s tough to know. He’s a smarter businessman than most, so you have to trust what he’s doing.”

Only time will tell if Till’s theory about Conor McGregor proves to be true.

Darren Till is Ready to Step Inside the Squared Circle

After dropping five of his last six bouts inside the Octagon, Darren Till was granted his release from the UFC in February to pursue other avenues outside of the Octagon. Till is yet to sign on the dotted line, but the former middleweight standout is chomping at the bit to get back to work, setting his sights on a potential boxing match with a bevy of top-tier talent.

Recently, Till accepted a challenge from BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry to compete on Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ on October 14. If that fight doesn’t work out, Till is happy to strap on the eight-ounce gloves for any influencer looking to test their mettle against a legitimate fighter.

“I need to fight now. I’m so ready to fight,” Till said. “I’ve put a lot of time and effort and hard work in. As you can see, my shape has changed considerably this year. I’ve really dedicated myself this year, I really have. I just can’t wait to fight now. Mike Perry, Logan Paul, Dillon Danis, Jake Paul, Nate Diaz. Any f*cking one, any f*cking time. I’m ready.

“As always they can say you got beat in your last fight or whatever, but I’ve always showed up and I’ve always fought, injuries or not. I’m just so ready for it. I’m feeling powerful and big, so I probably need to trim up a little bit, but I’m good and I’m confident. I just want to get some sparring done and then get in there and just savagely beat someone or savagely get beaten myself! So what!”

Darren Till is ready to step inside the squared circle for a crossover clash with fellow former UFC standout, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

Perry has been calling for a fight with Till ever since a 2018 sparring match put the pair at odds with one another, but Till appears to finally be ready to sign on the dotted line.

On Tuesday, Perry revealed himself to be the official backup for the highly anticipated grudge match between social media sensation Logan Paul and BJJ specialist Dillon Danis. However, Perry is more than open to strapping on the eight-ounce gloves for a guaranteed spot on the card, so long as it means finally getting his hands on Darren Till.

“I’ve been calling [Till] out for bare-knuckle, Perry said in an interview with Jamal Niaz. “Bare Knuckle’s been trying to get that, but I’m already here in England. I was talking bout Anthony Taylor talking sh*t on Twitter and Darren Till, we can put the gloves on since you’re scared to do it bare-knuckle. I’ll knock you out with eight-ounce gloves on.

“I’ll be ready to fight. I’m training. I’ll be a stand-in. They gotta pay me regardless. I’m here for a check and that could get a lot bigger if I’ll be fighting on the card. That card could get a lot bigger if I’m fighting on the card, especially with a name like Darren Till” (h/t MiddleEasy).

Darren Till is Ready to Settle Things with Mike Perry in the Squared Circle

Shortly after, Perry reposted the interview and tagged Darren Till, asking if ‘The Gorilla’ was up for a fight. It didn’t take long for Till to respond, accepting the challenge laid down by the BKFC star.

“I say yes let’s go,” Till wrote in response.

Darren Till walked away from the UFC after dropping five of his last six fights inside the Octagon. ‘The Gorilla’ has expressed interest in re-signing with the promotion in the future, but perhaps he’ll settle a little business with Mike Perry first.

“I’m sure I could go in there and f*ck Mike Perry up, as we were meant to fight,” Till told MMA Junkie back in March. “Make a bit of money, get the body healthy, and whether the UFC like it or not, get back to the UFC. That’s still my main focus. They’re going to approach me, but if they are going to approach me, don’t waste my time. Offer me something astronomical. Otherwise, nope. I don’t need it.”

One way or another, Mike Perry will be in Manchester on October 14 as Misfits Boxing presents ‘The PRIME Card’ on pay-per-view. The event will feature co-headlining bouts, the first being the aforementioned scrap between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. In the main event of the evening, UK-based social media star KSI will return to the ring for a showdown with undefeated pro boxer, Tommy Fury.

The defeat came as Darren Till’s three consecutively, following a prior submission loss to Derek Brunson, and a decision defeat to former undisputed middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker in back-to-back main event fights.

Challenging for undisputed UFC welterweight gold back in September 2018 in the main event of UFC 228, Till, then boasting an undefeated record, suffered a second round D’Arce choke to Tyron Woodley, before he was finished with a brutal second round KO by Jorge Masvidal in a UFC Fight Night London main event the following March.

Earlier this year, Till confirmed his exit from the Octagon and the UFC, however, insisted he would return to the promotion in the future, with his sights set firmly on reaching champion status within the organization’s middleweight division

Darren Till calls for fight with KSI following illegal elbow KO in boxing match UFC

After a shocking sequence of events at Misfits 007, Darren Till is chomping at the bit to step inside the ring with Youtube sensation KSI aka JJ Olajide Olatunji.

At Misfits 007 KSI faced Joe Fournier. The match proceeded as planned, with KSI having earned the lead when everything took a turn for the unexpected in the second round. On the video, KSI can be seen slipping a punch, before grabbing his opponent by the back of the head and landing a vicious elbow to his jaw. According to KSI, this strike was meant to be a hook, but it missed and the elbow connected instead.

After seeing this brutal strike online, it must have awakened the dog inside Darren Till, as the former UFC star now seems to eagerly want a boxing match with KSI. “Elbows in boxing now?” Darren Till said on Twitter. “I’m up for a bit of that.”

Darren Till seemingly has his sights set on money fights before he makes his UFC return

The Liverpool native has come a long way since the beginning of his MMA career. Once the shining star for UK prospects and touted as a future champion, the beloved star has recently announced he will be stepping away from the sport of MMA.

The news struck shortly after Till’s last fight against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282. The UK star claimed he needed time to find himself again and reassess things. 1-4 in his last five fights, Till has been experiencing quite a slump.

“What’s happening everyone, Me, Dana & Hunter are still cool as f***,” Till said. I asked UFC 2 remove me just 2 sort some other shit for the foreseeable, They happily agreed to release me out of contract which I appreciate. I’m not going anywhere, got big plans to execute & I’ll be back.”

Now, it seems that Till is ready to get back to competing in combat sports. With his recent callout of KSI, a fight between the two could provide the spark Darren Till needs to get back to his old winning ways.

Will the once highly touted UK star ever capture that elusive UFC title, and what do you think of his callout of KSI?

Most recently featuring on the main card of UFC 282 back in December of last year, Till, 30, suffered an eventual third round submission loss to Dricus du Plessis.
