Former dual weight UFC champion Conor McGregor has taken to social media to individually attack his lightweight rivals Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje Tony Ferguson, and Dustin Poirier. The Irishman appears to have been hyped up by the interim lightweight title fight which took place at UFC 249 in Jacksonville, Florida this past weekend.

In seven posts to Twitter, he recapped the UFC 249 fight card, tried to arrange a fight with Gaethje, slammed Ferguson’s performance at UFC 249, and had some unsurprising harsh word for Numagomedov and MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz.

Check out everything Conor McGregor had to say below…

“The fans make the sport. Watching the other night I was against going in without them. But it will be my fucking pleasure to display the power I possess with zero background noise for them. Its me and Justin next as Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game. Guarantee it.”

“I love Tony. We represented him amazingly at Paradigm sports and were betrayed for a promise of a baseball contract. But frame and preparation here was just embarrassing. His methods and conversation are humorous/enjoyable but he was never the level perceived. Although tough.

“It is Dustin/Tony next when Tony heals. If he does. Dustin will beat him also if changes are not made. Which they won’t. Dustin, although game, and in the mix, will be fed to the floor again. Couple wins here/there then folded in half. Rinse and repeat – Dustin career.”

“Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know. Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to fucking butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are f**king dead.

“Don’t ever say you represent the great nation of the United States of America ever again. No true American would speak so highly of, or allow, a convicted member of a Jihadi terror cell represent them. Never Forget! You are a fucking blind fool, and I am going to finish the job.”

“Khabib you absolute embarrassment. Scurrying, hiding rat as usual. As I have said many times. As has been seen many times. Through the pane of glass it was confirmed what was always known. ‘No comment’ lol. An embarrassment to real fighting.”

“After this division demolition job. It is 170lbs.”

Conor McGregor is the latest to have a problem with the UFC rankings.

McGregor took to social media on Thursday to question how Dustin Poirier (No. 2) was ranked above him (No. 3) in the lightweight rankings.

“How is the pea ahead of me in rankings?” McGregor said in reference to Poirier in a now-deleted tweet. “I sparked him in 90 seconds. Went further against most recent foe [Nurmagomedov], plus took a round. After two year layoff partying and or in jail/court.

“What a weird little game you guys play. I’ll bide my time for now but watch this space. All bums.”

McGregor defeated Poirier via first-round knockout when they met in a featherweight contest back in 2014. Since then, “The Diamond” has won nine of his next 12 outings including becoming the interim lightweight champion following his decision victory over Max Holloway last year.

However, Poirier would lose to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his attempt at becoming undisputed lightweight champion following a third-round submission defeat at UFC 242.

McGregor also suffered a submission defeat to Nurmagomedov in 2018 but believes the fact that he took “The Eagle” to the fourth round and even won a round against him should put him higher than Poirier while considering their head-to-head record as well.

If the Irishman wants to take matters into his hands, he could end up facing Poirier. After all, it’s a fight the latter is open to in more ways than one.

What do you make of Poirier being ranked above McGregor? Right move considering he was interim champion last year?

When Ferguson vs. Gaethje was announced for the interim lightweight title at UFC 249, “The Diamond” predicted a win for the latter. Though the event was eventually postponed, UFC president Dana White plans on having them compete on May 9 in what currently looks to be a stacked card.

Poirier — who defeated Gaethje in a back-and-forth war back in 2018 — still seems to be picking “The Highlight” to win if that fight goes ahead. However, given the circumstances such as Gaethje fighting on short notice amid a global pandemic, it’s hard for him to predict things for certain.

“This is MMA. Anything can happen on any given night,” Poirier told MMA Fighting. “But stylistically, I saw it matching up — the only thing that was in the back of my mind that I thought would work against my prediction was Justin’s cardio. I didn’t know how hard he was pushing before he got the call. I don’t know what kind of shape he was in.

“The endurance could have came into factor if it went past third, fourth or fifth round. Then I think Tony could have started pulling away. But in my head, I had Justin stopping him early.”

If things did go into deep waters, most would favor Ferguson. However, Gaethje’s power is certainly a threat early on which is why taking a fight with him is such a big risk for Ferguson — especially when he can just wait to face Khabib Nurmagomedov later in the year.

But for Poirier, it could come down to a number of different factors.

“It’s tough for me to call that cause I’m not in his shoes,” Poirier added when asked why Ferguson would take the fight. “I don’t know what he’s thinking, how he’s feeling. A lot of things play into that decision making. It’s tough to say.”

Ferguson last competed in June 2019 when he defeated Donald Cerrone.

Dustin Poirier says he’s willing to step up in weight or cross over into boxing for a rematch against Conor McGregor.

Poirier previously fought the Irishman at featherweight back at UFC 174 in September 2014. After a heated build-up, it was McGregor who emerged victorious from the bout. ‘Notorious’ landed big early and was able to close the show inside one round as previously predicted.

Since then ‘The Diamond’ has been keen to get that one back. When MMA Fighting asked him if McGregor is still at the top of his wish list, he replied.

“Of course I’d rather have that. Like I said, I want the biggest and the highest ranked guys that I can get. Yeah, I’m not circling back around to these guys or begging for fights.

“I’ll fight Dan Hooker no problem, but my job is to get the biggest fights, the most money, get the highest ranked opponents that I can get. So whenever I see people and opportunities that make sense, like me and Conor, of course I would push for that.”

“It just depends on what the UFC has in mind and Conor’s timeframe when he wants to fight,” Poirier said. “A lot of factors play into all this decision making. But I’m definitely open to the fight.”

The 31-year-old is willing to do anything to make that fight happen. If he has to move up several weight classes or transition into another sport he’ll do it.

“I’d love it at welterweight,” Poirier said. “I’d love it in a boxing ring. I’d love it in MMA. I’ll take it at 185 [pounds], I don’t care. I just want the biggest fights that I can get, and that’s definitely one of them.”

“I’d love to box Nate Diaz or McGregor in the Octagon, or in the boxing ring,” Poirier said.
