With Brock Lesnar making his long-awaited Octagon return this coming Saturday, there has been a lot of speculation and questions regarding what the future holds for Lesnar in the sport of MMA following what his employers in WWE are calling a “one-off” fight with Mark Hunt at the landmark UFC 200 pay-per-view event.

FOX Sports asked Lesnar about his future in MMA after the fight with Hunt.

“I don’t know. I feel really good,” Lesnar told FOX Sports last week about his future with the UFC. “Training camp is going great. I’m happy. I’m happy with my life. I’m happy with everything. Yes, since I left the Octagon after I got beat by (Alistair) Overeem and kind of forced out of the cage because of my illness, it haunted me for a long time. Here I am and before it’s too late, I want to get back in the cage and have some fun with it. This is all about having fun.”

As Lesnar explained, he was actually originally talking with the UFC about making his surprising return at their upcoming Madison Square Garden debut in New York in November. Whether or not that is still a possibility now that he is fighting at UFC 200 next weekend remains to be seen.

“Not very long. I wasn’t sure if it was even going to happen so I don’t remember the date, but I’ve been training four or five weeks,” Lesnar said. “Before my call to Dana (White), I wasn’t even sure this thing was going to happen at UFC 200.”

“We had talked and thought maybe we could put something together by November for New York. But hell, I’ll fight whenever the money’s right and we took it to the eleventh hour and that’s where we’re at. So it is what it is.”

Lesnar vs. Hunt takes place as part of the UFC 200 landmark pay-per-view event, which goes down live on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

D.C. Says He’s Fighting The Jones Who Fought OSP: “He’s Paying For Outlandish Living”

During the official media conference call on Thursday, which featured Brock Lesnar, Mark Hunt and UFC 200 headliners Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion D.C. took some more shots at former champion “Bones” Jones’ struggles in his personal life.

When asked about his upcoming rematch with Jones, who defeated him via decision when the two first met inside the Octagon in January of 2015, Cormier claimed that he isn’t fighting the Jones everyone remembers, but instead the version that we saw in his most recent performance after a lengthy layoff against Ovince Saint Preux.

As D.C. explains, the reason for that is because Jones is finally paying for “all the outlandish living” he has been doing, which included issues with drugs and a major hit-and-run incident that ultimately cost Jones the title no man could take from him inside the cage.

“He’ll be tough – he’ll always be tough; he’s a good fighter – but nothing is free,” Cormier said when comparing the version of Jones he fought at UFC 182 to the one he’ll see on July 9. “The Jon that showed up against Ovince Saint Preux is the guy that is going to be in the Octagon on July 9; that is who he is today. Nothing is free, so all the other stuff – the partying, all the other stuff – you have to pay for that and now we’re seeing him where it’s time to pay the cost. He’s paying for all the outlandish living and burning the candle at two ends.”

Jones, never one to back down in a war of words against one of his biggest career rivals, fired back at Cormier by questioning, “Where do you come up with this craziness?” before continuing, “Why was your candle out when I beat you the first time? Somehow your candle is re-lit? I don’t get it.”

Cormier and Jones will meet again inside the Octagon to determine the true UFC 205-pound king, as they headline the landmark UFC 200 pay-per-view event, which wraps up UFC’s jam-packed International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bantamweights Michael McDonald and John Lineker have taken over the main event role for UFC Fight Night 91.

A planned headline fight pitting Tony Ferguson vs. Mike Chiesa was scrapped when Chiesa bowed out due to a back injury. Ferguson will remain on the card, taking on newcomer Landon Vannata.

McDonald (17-3) and Lineker (27-7) have a combined Octagon record of 14-4. They are both right on the edge of contention in the stacked bantamweight division.

Vannata (8-0) will try to spoil the run put together by Ferguson (20-3), who has gone 10-1 in his UFC career.

UFC Fight Night 91 takes place July 13 from the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

On Monday, former UFC veteran turned alleged contract killer, Amar Suloev, died following a lengthy battle with Stage 4 stomach cancer.

Suloev received months of medical treatment in a Moscow hospital before requesting to return to his childhood home in Anapa last week.

Suloev fought for such promotions as the UFC, PRIDE, Cage Rage and BoDog Fight, competing against the likes of Chuck Liddell, Chael Sonnen and Phiil Baroni., while training at the Red Devil Fight Club alongside the likes of Fedor Emelianenko.

After retiring in 2013, Suloev made headlines as he was part of a gang that was charged with attempted assassinations of political figures in Russia. He would go on to spend three years behind bars. He would be released from prison in February of 2016 on bail, where he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
