LowKick MMA will be bringing you UFC Vegas 44: Font vs. Aldo results throughout the night (Sat. December 4. 2021) live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Taking main event status at the UFC Apex facility is a high-stakes, potential bantamweight title-eliminator between the surging #4 ranked contender, Rob Font, and former undisputed featherweight champion, the #5 rated, Jose Aldo.

In the midst of an impressive four-fight winning run, New England Cartel standout, Font most recently headlined UFC Vegas 25 back in May — handing former bantamweight kingpin, Cody Garbrandt a one-sided unanimous decision loss.

Prior to that win, Font bested the trio of Marlon Moraes, Ricky Simon, and current Bellator bantamweight best, Sergio Pettis.

For Aldo, the veteran Manaus striker is in the midst of a two-fight winning run — most recently co-headlining UFC 265 in August, defeating fellow Brazilian, Pedro Munhoz with a unanimous decision win.

The victory for the former featherweight kingpin followed a UFC Vegas 17 win against Marlon Vera in December of last year.

Dana White Reacts To Nate Diaz Rejecting Khamzat Chimaev Fight

Dana White, Khamzat Chimaev, Nate Diaz

Dana White has reacted to Nate Diaz publicly rejecting a fight against undefeated rising star Khamzat Chimaev.

After Khamzat Chimaev advanced his professional record to 10-0 at UFC 267 by manhandling Li Jingliang, White and Borz both set their sights on Nate Diaz as his next opponent. There’s just one problem, Diaz wanted nothing to do with it.

This, according to the Stockton bad boy himself, is due to the fact that Chimaev only has four fights in the UFC and is a “rookie.” Therefore, the suggestion that Diaz, an established veteran of the game, should fight him was considered “disrespectful” by the Californian.

TMZ caught up with Dana White this weekend and asked the UFC President to comment on Diaz’s remarks. Here’s what he had to say.

“Listen, man. Khamzat is a straight murderer. He’s a killer. He’s an absolute savage. And I don’t blame anybody for not wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev,” White said.

White was then pressed to respond directly to Nate Diaz’s reasoning and if he thought Chimaev’s “rookie” status is the legitimate reason why Diaz is uninterested in the fight. White could not stifle the urge to smile throughout the entirety of the following response.

“What do you think? What do you think? [SMILE GROWS WIDER] Listen, everybody in this business, everybody in this company is here because they belong here. There are no real ‘rookies’ per se here. There are guys with more experience and some guys with some less experience.

Khamzat Chimaev

“Khamzat Chimaev is one of those guys that’s willing to fight anybody in multiple weight classes on short notice. He’s doing wrestling matches. If it’s a fight, he’s in, and he wants to fight you. And that’s the reality. I mean, people can spin Khamzat however they want to and I don’t blame ’em.”

Dana White has recently shared how difficult it has been to get Chimaev booked in a fight, stating that no one in the welterweight division wants to fight him. There have been reports of a potential pairing of Chimaev and Burns, and Burns himself said he’d be open to that fight, but there has been zero traction on that bout ever since the initial report.

Why do you think Nate Diaz does not want to fight Khamzat Chimaev? Because it’s “disrespectful” or because he simply wants no part of Borz?

UFC Vegas 44 went down tonight (Sat. December 4, 2021) from Las Vegas, Nevada at the UFC Apex facility and we have the results. The world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion compiled an excellent card for fight fans to enjoy.

It was headlined by a meeting between Rob Font and José Aldo in a bantamweight bout.

The co-headliner saw a bout between Brad Riddell and Rafael Fiziev. Clay Guida vs. Leonardo Santos in a lightweight fight, Jimmy Crute vs. Jamahal Hill in a light heavyweight bout, Brendan Allen vs. Chris Curtis in a middleweight showdown and Alex Morono vs. Mickey Gall in a middleweight bout finished out the main card.

It was certain to have a great night of fights. Check out MMA News’ UFC Vegas 44 results below:

Alex Morono vs. Mickey Gall

They had a feeling out process early. Alex dropped him with a jab with less than two minutes to go and he jumped right into guard. Gall tried to go for a few different submissions while getting punched in the face. He survived the round. Gall came out firing in the second round. Alex was throwing a lot of looping shots that most of the time missed, but did land a few and kept that trend rolling. Gall continued to press forward in the third. The judges gave the win to Morono.

Brendan Allen vs. Chris Curtis

After striking for the majority of the first round, Allen went for a single leg and pulled guard for an ankle lock. He kept a hold of the ankle, but Curtis ended up moving to half guard to wrap up the round. In the second round, Curtis rocked him with a right hook then swarmed him with strikes and knees to the gut for the finish.

Clay Guida vs. Leonardo Santos

Santos trapped him up against the fence and Guida shot in for a takedown, but Santos swarmed him on the ground then the feet with strikes. Guida was covering up before dropping again. Guida got his back and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win.

Jimmy Crute vs. Jamahal Hill

Hill caught him with a left hook that dropped Crute, who recovered. Moments later, Crute landed the same shot again and flattened him then landed one good shot on the ground for the knockout finish.

Brad Riddell vs. Rafael Fiziev

It was a slow start. Fiziev was doing a nice job of counter striking. Brad landed a strong combo to end the first round. In the second round, they both landed hard left hooks. Brad had a cut under right eye and was bleeding from his left temple. Fiziev had him pressed up against the fence, but Brad was doing a nice job in that spot. They clinched briefly. In the third round, Riddell got the brief takedown, but let him back up. Fiziev finished it with a wheel kick and Riddell went down hard.

Rob Font vs. José Aldo

Font got a takedown early in the first round, but Aldo got right back to his feet. Font had a lot of speed and backed up Aldo. Aldo landed a big strike that dropped Font to end the round. In the second round, Aldo cracked him with an uppercut. It almost woke up Font who fired back with a combo then started landing jobs. Aldo side stepped him and Font slipped, but got back to his feet. In the third round, Aldo defended a takedown and got on top. Font got back to his feet. Aldo went to the leg kicks and was dishing out punishment with them. To start off the fourth round, Aldo stunned him then dropped him with a knee strike and Font went to the ground. Aldo got on top and landed some strikes. To start off the fifth round, they did some clinch fighting. Aldo dropped him in the middle of the round and got his back, but there was a scramble. Aldo stayed on him. Aldo got the decision win.

Conor McGregor has implied that he’d have “no problem” fighting Khamzat Chimaev if Nate Diaz won’t.

Khamzat Chimaev has been on a call-out rampage ever since smeshing Li Jingliang at UFC 267 in October. The man has even called out Brock Lesnar and Georges St-Pierre for crying out loud. However, there is one call-out of a legendary fighter that was as realistic as it gets, Nate Diaz.

While that pairing was dismissed by some critics, the very fact that Dana White endorsed the idea shows that it was only one piece away from being complete. That piece, of course, was Nate Diaz himself, who emphatically rejected the fight this week.

Following Diaz’s rejection, Chimaev mocked both Nate and his older brother Nick, and now Nate Diaz has decided to help Borz out and play matchmaker for him as well as an old rival:

“Let him fight kamrat that be a great fight to make He needs a easy new guy to fight anyway he can taper back in and see if he can even still fight at all Great idea Nate Thanks.”

Plot Twist: McGregor Approves Nate Diaz’s Matchmaking Idea

Full transcript Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Toronto press conference, boxing

Within the hour of Nate Diaz’s matchmaking proposal, Conor McGregor would respond, implying that he’d have no problem taking on Borz even though Diaz wouldn’t.

“No problem, bitch” McGregor posted in response to Diaz.

Diaz would then hit back immediately after McGregor’s snappy reply.

“Good job do what ur told BITCH”

McGregor would then respond referencing a line used against Diaz in an old exchange between the two, where McGregor requested Diaz go fetch him his coffee.

“Two sugars,” said McGregor.

It should come as no surprise that Conor McGregor was among the plethora of names that Borz has called out in recent weeks. To be precise, he proposed that they make a “big drama show.”

Should McGregor’s Twitter acceptance actually take fruit in a McGregor/Chimaev booking, then a drama show is what we would have indeed: on Twitter, in the press conference, and certainly in the climactic Octagon finale.

Do you think Conor McGregor is really down to fight Khamzat Chimaev?

Jack Hermansson, Sean Strickland

Top-10 middleweights Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland are set to collide in the main event of the February 5 UFC Fight Night event.

The news of this middleweight clash was first reported by ESPN on Friday. The bout has been verbally agreed to by both parties and contracts should be signed shortly.

Both Hermansson and Strickland are coming off wins. Hermansson (#6) defeated Edmen Shahbazyan via unanimous decision in May but has had mixed results in his most recent fights, going 2-2 in his last four bouts. Hermansson has also kept himself busy by engaging in a wrestling matchup with welterweight Khamzat Chimaev.

The last time Hermansson main-evented a UFC card, he took home Fight of the Night against Marvin Vettori. Hermansson came out on the losing end of that contest and will certainly look to have a different outcome as he returns to the main event spotlight in February.

Sean Strickland (#7) has been searching for a new opponent ever since his bout with Luke Rockhold fell apart. Strickland and Rockhold were engaged in some very heated trash talk that was expected to culminate at UFC 268 in November. Unfortunately, Rockhold had to withdraw from the bout.

Strickland shut the door on a potential fight against Darren Till and name-dropped Paulo Costa or Jack Hermansson as targeted opponents. We now know that he has been paired with the latter opponent on the tail end of winter.

Sean Strickland is currently enjoying a five-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Uriah Hall via unanimous decision in a July main event.

MMA News will keep you updated on additional updates and fight announcements connected to this February 5 Fight Night card.

Who do you pick to win this middleweight bout: Jack Hermansson or Sean Strickland?

Every fighter has made weight ahead of UFC Vegas 44, including the event’s headliners, Rob Font and José Aldo.

UFC Vegas 44 takes place Saturday, December 4, 2021, from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, Rob Font (#4) will battle José Aldo (#5). Font has candidly stated that he does not believe a win here would be enough for him to earn a title shot, yet he still expects that his jab and other tools in his arsenal will be enough to get the job done nonetheless.

On the contrary, Aldo has a “title shot or bust” mentality for the duration of his career, and this is just another chapter in that journey. With a victory here, Aldo would prefer a bout against TJ Dillashaw next before earning a second stab at the bantamweight championship.

In the co-main event, Rafael Fiziev will take on Brad Riddell. MMA News caught up with Fiziev prior to tomorrow’s battle. One of the things Fiziev had to say ahead of tomorrow’s contest is he views this fight as a must-win if he is to secure a strong new UFC contract. If he is victorious, he would have handed Riddell his first loss in the UFC.

Also competing on tomorrow’s card is ranked lightweights Jimmy Crute and Jamahal Hill. Hill told MMA News that he is moving on from the brutal outcome of his previous bout against Paul Craig. Tomorrow, the world will witness how the promising young light heavyweight rebounds.

Additionally, Brendan Allen will be taking on Chris Curtis, who is coming off a big knockout win over Phil Hawes at UFC 268. Allen spoke with MMA News about how he negotiated his own UFC contract ahead of this bout, which will be against the short-notice replacement Chris Curtis.

MMA News also caught up with Mickey Gall ahead of his main card bout against Alex Morono. Gall believes he is a bigger killer than “The Great White” and that the world will witness this for themselves tomorrow night.

The main card for UFC Vegas 44 begins at 10:00 PM ET, with the preliminary bouts starting at 7:00 PM. The entire card will be available on ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN Deportes.
