A heavyweight male, weighing in excess of thirty-two stone, competed this week against a strawweight female opponent in another intergender fight hosted by controversial Russian mixed martial arts promotion, Epic Fighting Championships.

The heavyweight, Grigory Chistyakov rose to prominence back in 2020 after he suffered a defeat against flyweight female competitor, Darina Mazdyuk in another highly scrutinized and criticized intergender professional mixed martial arts fight. Off the back of Mazyduk’s win, she later penned a deal with North American-based promotion, Bellator MMA.

Grigory Chisyakov suffered a stoppage loss to recent Bellator signee, Darina Mazyduk in 2020

This time around, however, earlier this week, Chistyakov fought to a decision against strawweight opponent, Alexsandra Stepakova, surviving the entire three round bout at an Epic Fighting Championships event.

In the early stages of the bout, Chistyakov, who entered the clash with more than a 300lbs weight advantage against Stepakova, rushed forward in an aggressive manner, firing off a one-two combination.

Throughout the majority of the Epic Fighting Championships bout, however, Stepakova managed to stick on the outside and avoid the majority of Chistyakov’s wild, swinging hooks – landing a series of leg kicks in a bid to chop down the Russian.

In the second round, the bout was briefly called to a halt after a cage-side viewer scaled the enclosure and struck Chistyakov – forcing the referee to intervene.

Upon the culmination of the bout, which went the entire three round distance, Chistyakov was awarded a decision victory over the strawweight, Stepakova – as the second round intruder then once more entered the cage, this time to square off with Chistyakov in a staredown.

The same Epic Fighting Championships event also hosted a series of two-on-one fights during the same event, including a bout pitting a 75-year-old Vietnam war veteran grandfather, and his 18-year-old grandson against a lone female opponent in another criticized intergender professional mixed martial arts clash.

Footage has begun to circulate on social media of a two-on-one mixed martial arts fight in Russia at Epic Fighting Championships, with a pensioner and his grandson, fighting against a female opponent earlier this week.

Competing in a two-on-one freakshow fight at Epic Fighting Championships, Yulia Mishko took on the grandfather and grandson pairing of ‘Big Igibob’, and his 75-year-old grandfather, Vladimir Spartak in the latter pair’s professional mixed martial arts debut.

Promotions have received mass criticism for hosting and promoting intergender mixed martial arts fights

Epic Fighting Championships, a promotion based out of Russia, have gained a reputation in recent years along with numerous organizations based in Poland, for hosting and promoting freakshow fights including male vs. female pairings

And earlier this week, the two-on-one showdown between Mishko and Spartak, and Igibob became the latest instalment in the genre at Epic Fighting Championships – with the bout taking place over three sanctioned rounds professionally.

Starting the bout at Epic Fighting Championships in quite the aggressive manner as compared to his 18-year-old grandson, Spartak and the pair actually suffered a trio of respective knockdowns over the course of the three round clash.

However, despite those knockdowns as well as Mishko’s overall activity throughout the bout, the pairing was eventually scored a draw.

After the bout, Igibob maintained that in the future, he would like to compete alongside his grandfather, the 75-year-old Spartak. Although the latter admitted that he eventually conceded that he would be unable to defeat Mishko, and reverted to attempting to produce an entertaining spectacle instead.

Epic Fighting Championships also hosted another two-on-one fight, this time between three male participants, however, the bout quickly exploded into chaos as a corner person scaled the cage fence and began raining down shots on both competitors in a bid to save his fighter from ground strikes. The bout would later continue into the third round, however, one competitor found himself disqualified before the bout ended with a customary one-on-one bout eventually.

An official has come under fire following an UFL MMA 8 event last night in London, England – where he allowed a bout to continue up and until an eventual knockout finish, despite a separate unanswered 41 significant strikes.

The event, which received much criticism across social media last night for it’s production, commentary, refereeing, and timekeeping of rounds, took home in London, England at the Broadway Theatre, and was promoted by Triad Endeavor.

The UFL MMA 8 event received mass criticism across social media for both it’s production and officiating

However, the most egregious of those errors came during a preliminary card bout where an official, who has also been labelled as an event promoter on social media, failed to call a halt to a bout despite one fighter absorbing a shocking 41 separate significant strikes to the head, unanswered.

Severe MMA reporter, Andy Stevenson shed light on the brutal finishing sequence on his official Twitter account.

“Some of the most dangerous reffing I’ve ever seen took place at UFL MMA 8 tonight,” Stevenson tweeted. “I count 41 unanswered blows after the initial damaging knee. Disgraceful.”

The event was headlined by a welterweight pairing between Scottish standout, Chris Duncan, who improved to 8-1 as a professional with a unanimous decision win over Jonathan Carlos, however, the time limit for each round was inaccurate counted, with the second round coming to close earlier than the allotted time.

The win returned Duncan to the winner’s enclosure following a second round knockout loss against Viacheslav Borshchev on Dana White’s Contender Series back in October of last year.

Duncan, an alum of Bellator MMA has managed to score other career wins over the likes of Iamik Furtado, Mateusz Piskorz, Leandro Souza, and Sam Slater to name a few before last night’s appearance at UFL MMA.

The UFL (Ultimate Fight League) is currently owned by Ahsan Gilani, and its headquarters are based in Musselburgh, Scotland.

Count it six straight victories for the #7 ranked UFC middleweight contender, Sean Strickland, who outpoints Jack Hermansson over the course of five rounds for an admittedly dubious split decision (49-46, 47-48, 49-46) victory in the main event of UFC Vegas 47.

Adding Swedish-born contender, Hermansson to a list of victims at middleweight including the likes of Uriah Hall, Brendan Allen, and Jack Marshman, Strickland managed to successfully defend no less than seven takedown attempts over the course of the five round headliner.

Utilizing an ever-present jab which really made waves last July against the above mentioned, Hall, Strickland, a staple of Xtreme Couture under Eric Nicksick in ‘Sin City’ — managed to evade a lot of winging and misfiring efforts from Hermansson from the second round onwards, largely comfortably outstriking the former Cage Warriors champion.

Following his victory, Strickland who is set to leapfrog Hermansson into the #6 rank at middleweight at least, called for a middleweight title opportunity against the victor of next weekend’s UFC 271 headliner between champion, Israel Adesanya, and former champion, Robert Whittaker.

Below, catch the highlights from Sean Strickland’s split decision triumph over Jack Hermansson

Footage has emerged of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling match featuring an elder competitor criticizing her younger opponent for not letting go of a submission following a tap, after she initially shoved her in the face.

In footage posted by Twitter user, @mma_mami, a practitioner sporting a white rashguard and black spats, shoves her younger opponent who is sitting on the mat, to her back, courtesy of a shove to her face.

Latching onto quite an awkwardly positioned armbar, the younger competitor eventually forces a tap, however, the elder practitioner immediately warns her, “when I tap, let go” whilst wincing in pain and shaking out her right arm.

As the two return to the center of the match as the referee raises the arm of the victor, the elder competitor reiterates her sentiment: “You have to learn to tap (sic) – when I tap, let go.”

With the aforenoted Twitter user questioning the legality of a shove to the face in BJJ grappling competition, Invicta FC atomweight contender, Jillian DeCoursey confirmed that a shove in a BJJ match was “perfectly legal” before claiming the elder competitor was just upset that she had been “schooled” by her younger adversary.

“It’s perfectly legal,” DeCoursey tweeted. “As far as the other stuff? That’s the adult acting like a child. Often you don’t feel the tap or realize it’s a tap. The young lady did nothing wrong, she let go when the ref recognized the tap. That’s a woman being upset she got schooled by a “kid”.”

The elder grappler appears to go 0-2 over the course of her two BJJ matches against the younger competition

In what appears to be a second BJJ match between the two, the younger competitor once again locks up an armbar, this time from full guard, however, the elder practitioner taps once more, but appears to strike the offensive grappler twice in the midsection, before shaking out the same arm in pain and refusing to let the official call a halt to the match and award the win to her opponent.

Ahead of his Octagon return at UFC Vegas 46 this weekend, streaking #7 ranked contender Sean Strickland continued sparring, quite heavily against former two-time light heavyweight title challenger, Dominick Reyes before this weekend’s clash with Jack Hermansson.

Strickland, who is in the midst of an impressive five-fight winning spree, most recently bested Uriah Hall with a unanimous decision win in his first headlining bout under the promotion’s banner back at UFC Vegas 33 back in July.

Sean Strickland will feature in his second headliner against Jack Hermansson this weekend at UFC Vegas 46

The outspoken North Carolina native was slated to return against former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold at UFC 268 back in November at Madison Square Garden, until a herniated disc injury forced the former middleweight titleholder from proceedings.

Set to return to the Octagon this weekend against former Cage Warriors champion and tricky grappler, Hermansson, footage emerged detailing a sparring session between Sean Strickland and former two-time light heavyweight title challenger, Dominick Reyes – with the two sporting four-ounce gloves as the vocal Strickland continually trash talks the Hesperia native.

During exchanges, Sean Strickland praises Reyes’ striking before telling the Californian to stop laughing, telling him, “I’m here to hurt you” and that “You’re here to play”.

Strickland then blocks a shot from Reyes before telling him “I’m trying to f*cking put you down.” Eating a right-hand counter soon thereafter, Strickland exclaims, “Here we f*cking go.”

Back in October 2020, Strickland landed his second consecutive victory of his current streak in a unanimous decision win over Wales native, Jack Marshman, repeatedly urging him to throw in the final minute of the three round fight, and asking him “why won’t you fall, Jack?” Following the klaxon and upon waiting on the official result, Strickland then asked, “Jack, why is your head made of steel?”

Amongst his Octagon victories, the Xtreme Couture trainee has bested the likes of Krzysztof Jotko, Brendan Allen, Nordine Taleb, Court McGee, and Alex Garcia to name a few.
