Finding herself on the receiving end of a massive overhand right shot from Gomez Juarez, Demopoulos was dropped to the Octagon canvas, admitting her wits had momentarily left as a result of the shot.
However, surviving and composing herself, Demopoulos then attempted to setup and armbar, before successfully sweeping Gomez Juarez, and then forcing a quickfire tap courtesy of an armbar over the two and a half minute mark of the opening round for a huge rally success.

Appearing as a guest via video link on yesterday’s UFC 270 weigh-in show, former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington certainly didn’t hold back in his verbal attack against coach, Din Thomas, claiming that the UFC alum was nothing more than former champion and opponent, Tyron Woodley’s “waterboy”.
Colby Covington is slated to return against Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC 272 on March 5.
Covington, who last featured back in November in the main event of UFC 268 against Kamaru Usman in a championship rematch at Madison Square Garden – suffered his second career loss to the undisputed welterweight kingpin in the form of a unanimous decision defeat.
Thomas, who holds ties with Covington’s former home base, American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida – received the wrath of the former interim welterweight title challenger during yesterday’s weigh-in show ahead of UFC 270, with Covington turning down the opportunity to appear on Thomas’ show, ‘Din’s Diaries’ – claiming that he was just a “waterboy” for the aforenoted, Woodley.
“Hey, man – if you weren’t busy talking sh*t, saying I wasn’t about that life in the media, you know, I’d be down,” Colby Covington replied to Din Thomas offer to have him on his show. “But, Din (Thomas), you’re nothing more than Tyron Woodley’s waterboy, so for you to talk sh*t about me in the media, it’s just – it’s just criminal.
For Covington, the outspoken MMA Masters trainee’s most recent professional victory came back in September 2020 – securing an eventual fifth round TKO win over the St. Louis native, after the former undisputed champion suffered a rib injury during a grappling exchange.

Footage has emerged over the weekend, of a Michael Jackson impersonator on the Las Vegas, Nevada strip – subduing a man who appears to be intoxicated, utilizing a swift outside trip before eventually wrapping up a bulldog choke, and an omoplata.
Shared on Twitter by podcaster, Marcus Deegan, the Michael Jackson impersonator receives a frail outside leg kick attempt from the intoxicated man – who is sporting a green t-shirt, with the text, ‘Can’t Fix Stupid’, before securing a swift takedown courtesy of a well-timed outside trip.
Initially stacking the guard, the Michael Jackson impersonator soon establishes full-mount with very little defense from the man, now on bottom position, appears to be attempting to grab the Jackson impersonator’s jacket lapel, almost as if it were the collar of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi.
However, unable to maintain control, the Jackson impersonator quickly attempts to lock up a mounted triangle, and even threatens to tie up an armbar to boot – reminiscent of Amanda Nunes’ submission win over Megan Anderson last year, before he eventually loses his balance.
Defending by now pulling the locks of the Jackson impersonator, from top position, he elects to bail on the triangle attempt, and during the ensuing scramble, almost takes the back, but fails to establish either hook and instead bellies out his opponent and latches onto a bulldog choke.
The MIchael Jackson impersonator has seen his street fight submission go viral across social media
Shortly thereafter, the Jackson impersonator, with the bulldog choke more than secured, traps the assailant’s right arm between his leg, in a half-hearted omoplata, before bystanders eventually break the scuffle up.
Returning to his feet, after assessing the situation for some time, with teeth gritted, the intoxicated man appears to welcome an immediate rematch, before footage draws to a close.
Footage of the impromptu street fight even received the breakdown treatment from mixed martial arts commentator and analyst, Robin Black who shared his analysis across social media.

Talk about a triumphant return for Massachusetts striker, Calvin Kattar. Enduring a brutal beating at the hands of former featherweight champion, Max Holloway just a year ago — the #5 ranked contender returned to the Octagon tonight with a vengeance, bloodying, slicing, and battering the promotional-perfect, Giga Chikadze over five gruelling rounds to land his own unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-44) win at UFC Vegas 46.
Managing to capitalize on a slip from Chikadze who had previously landed some blistering kicks in the opening round, Kattar stole the first frame on all three judge’s scorecards with a well-timed takedown, in tandem with some top control.
From rounds two until five, however, the New England Cartel standout established and then further built up a considerable lead over his Kings MMA featherweight counterpart, slicing and bloodying with countless step-in and upward elbows.
Chikadze, hugely fatigued beyond the second round, attempted to fight back, but with constant pressure on the ticket from Kattar, the Tbilisi native faltered for the first time in his eight-fight UFC tenure, as The Bay State product returned to the winner’s enclosure in emphatic fashion.
