Leading up this highly anticipated ‘money fight’ against Conor McGregor on Saturday (Aug. 26, 2017), Floyd Mayweather has made it clear that he’ll be spending time at his ‘Gentleman’s Club’, which is one of his most recent investments.

McGregor, however, feels as if the club looks like a ‘crack den’:

“That strip club is bleeding money from him, and he knows it, and he’s talking about franchising it,” McGregor told MMAJunkie.com. “The thing looks like a crack den, and that’s no disrespect to the people that are in there. It’s a horrendous decision.”

The “Notorious” one also showed little concern with Mayweather being at the club just days prior to the fight, while some have questioned how focused “Money” actually is on the fight:

“I don’t care about that,” the UFC lightweight champ said. “Whatever. He’s so cool, isn’t he? At the strip club a couple days before the fight. Like, who gives a bollocks, mate. I’d say the place stinks. That’s being straight. Looking at it on ‘All Access,’ I’d say the place stinks.”

While both men are known for their riches, Mayweather has been one of the wealthiest athletes in the world for the last decade or so. He makes it no secret how wealthy he is either, and he’s typically open about the bets he makes.

The Irishman, however, feels as if Mayweather has a problem with gambling:

“He needs to let that gambling go,” McGregor said. “He’s always talking about doing it, and then not doing it. I don’t really care. You don’t see many winners in those places.”

We are now just days away from the highly anticipated boxing match between unbeaten former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, as the two are set to meet this Saturday night (Aug. 26, 2017) live on pay-per-view from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Many are expecting Mayweather to win rather easily, but UFC lightweight contender Kevin Lee isn’t so sure. In fact, the “Motown Phenom” feels as if “Money” may be underestimating McGregor:

“I don’t know how well Floyd’s preparing, I don’t see any sparring partners (he’s training with),” Lee told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I don’t know; I’m just not liking the approach to his training camp. So, it’ making me a little uneasy about betting the house on Floyd.”

“Floyd can’t underestimate Conor, whatsoever, and he might be doing that,” he continued. “It might a little underestimation of the style, and if you do, you’re gonna get caught, and you’re gonna get clipped, especially with eight-ounce gloves.”

As far those giving McGregor a chance, some feel as if he’ll be the more powerful puncher come fight night, but Lee doesn’t feel as if he hits harder than Mayweather.

He does, however, feel as if distance and timing will benefit McGregor:

“People think it will make Conor hit harder,” Lee said. “I think that’s a big misconception that Conor hits harder than Floyd, he doesn’t at all. I’ve seen Floyd hit the bag, I’ve seen Conor hit the bag, Floyd definitely hits harder.”

“It’s the distance, it’s the timing, it’s those little gaps. When you put your hands up and he’s going behind that shell, it leaves those bigger gaps. And Conor’s more used to that with the four-ounce gloves. The distance, it changes a little bit, the less padding you have on the gloves.”

“I think the distance and the timing is what it’s really gonna change, more so than Conor’s gonna be able to hit harder because he’s got smaller gloves on.”

Rocky Marciano’s Son Comments On Floyd Mayweather’s Boxing Record

After defeating Andre Berto via one-sided decision in Sept. 2015, Floyd Mayweather extended his professional record to a perfect 49-0, tying heavyweight great Rocky Marciano on all-time record lists. He then, however, announced his retirement.

Now, Mayweather is just days removed from his fiftieth fight, as he’s come out of retirement to take on UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. The bout is set to take place this Saturday (Aug. 26, 2017) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Many have criticized the bout given the fact that McGregor has never competed in a professional boxing match, and Marciano’s son, Rocky Jr., doesn’t even think it should count towards “Money’s” record:

“No matter what happens, I don’t think it should go toward Mayweather’s professional career (record), win or lose,” Marciano Jr. told USA TODAY Sports. “This fight to me isn’t a true boxing match,” he added.

Marciano Jr. also implied that his father fighting at heavyweight makes the accomplishment all the more impressive:

“Heavyweights, most of them, hold the highest knockout percentage for a reason,” Marciano Jr. said. “They’re bigger, they’re stronger and one punch can take a heavyweight out. So it’s a lot more difficult to stay undefeated than it is for someone in the lower weight class, where it can be more of a type of match where you’re just outpointing your opponent.”

As far as the bout between Mayweather and McGregor goes, Marciano Jr. admits it’s a bout he’s not too interested in:

“It’s not a fight that I’m interested in,” he said. “I see the interest in it, but I don’t think it’ll be an interesting fight.”

John Kavanagh Gives Final Prediction For Mayweather-McGregor

Floyd Mayweather, one of the very best defensive boxers of all-time if not the very best defensive boxer of all-time, has said that he will be aggressive and go after Conor McGregor when the two meet on Saturday (Aug. 26, 2017) night in Las Vegas.

John Kavanagh, McGregor’s longtime head coach, doesn’t expect Mayweather to come forward, which is why he’s predicted a sixth-round finish for the “Notorious” one:

“When the two of them walk to the middle, one of them has to take a back step. If Floyd takes a back step, which I believe he will, then I predict round six,” Kavanagh said on The MMA Hour. “That’s my prediction on it. I think for the first five rounds, he will back up, he will lie on the ropes the way he does, he will cover up and try to just absorb, and try to wear Conor down. That’s how I think he’ll approach the fight.”

If “Money” does indeed fight how he says he’s going to, however, then Kavanagh’s prediction is a bit bolder:

“If he doesn’t take a back step, and we’ll all see it — we’ll all see their feet, we’ll all see who walks backwards — if he walks forward and exchanges, it’ll be a one-round fight. It’ll be over in a minute. Because he’d be fighting in such a way that’s not normal to him, he won’t have had time to develop the skillset for an aggressive exchanging fighter. Like I said, I didn’t know a lot about Floyd before this, but I did watch his fights for his defensive work. So for him to go in there and try to trade with Conor and not walk backwards, would be so alien to him but so normal for Conor — that’s exactly what Conor’s the best at — he’ll be unconscious in a minute.

“But I think he skips to the middle,” Kavanagh continued, “I think he has his classic hand position, Philly Shell hand position, and he’ll feint and throw a jab or something, Conor will walk forward, [Mayweather will] back up, and he’ll aim to just pot-shot, cover up, cover up, pot-shot, clinch, pot-shot, and just try to get through the first couple of rounds. As I believe that will be the case, that will be the scenario, I think round six, Conor’s hand is raised.”

Either way, Kavanagh is a predicting an early finish for McGregor, which is important to note given the fact that the majority of the boxing community is counting him out.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor – Reasons why you should bet on McGregor

On paper, it seems improbable that a fighter who isn’t an out and out boxer can take on an undefeated boxing legend, in a boxing ring, under pure boxing rules, and actually beat him. On paper, it seems improbable that a fighter who isn’t an out and out boxer can take on an undefeated boxing legend, in a boxing ring, under pure boxing rules, and actually beat him. However, that is only on paper, Conor McGregor isn’t just any other fighter and if there is someone who can pull this feat off, it sure as hell has to be this Irishman.

Having said that, let us take a look at some of the reasons as to why you should actually back McGregor in this fight.

The Odds

First things first, betting is all about making money. Of course, you could bet on Floyd Mayweather, but if you did that you would be taking a risk which is low paying. The fact of the matter is that the returns for a winning Mayweather bet are underwhelming to say the least. To be able to make any sort of sizable income, you are going to have to gamble with a huge sum.

On the other hand, being the underdog, McGregor to win is currently going as much +700 in most popular online bookmaker websites. What this means is that you can bet $100 and walk away with as much as $700. If you are going to gamble, then winning should be worth the risk. Furthermore, McGregor may not be at as much of a disadvantage as the odds seem to suggest, let’s take a look why that is –

Size

McGregor has a height advantage over Mayweather and he is even bulkier at this time. McGregor’s innate ability to add or drop pounds on short notice is something that is highly advantageous and especially in this match up, the extra pounds might just be exactly what he needs to take and absorb body punches while dishing out his own punishment.

He is Conor McGregor

Tough, determined, confident, cocky and both mentally and physically intimidating. McGregor, without a doubt, has already gotten into Mayweather’s head. This is much more than just a physical contest and McGregor knowns how to play his cards. He is one tough cookie.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor – Betting tips and odds

So, the big fight is just around the corner and everyone is talking about it. An outspoken and unapologetic mixed martial artist will take on a veteran boxer who is coming out of retirement just for this fight. Has Conor McGregor bitten off more than he can chew or can he actually put his money […]

So, the big fight is just around the corner and everyone is talking about it. An outspoken and unapologetic mixed martial artist will take on a veteran boxer who is coming out of retirement just for this fight. Has Conor McGregor bitten off more than he can chew or can he actually put his money where his mouth is and beat an all time boxing legend in his own game? Here are some betting tips that will help you make a decision of who to put your money on and how to do it.

While most people are of the opinion that Mayweather, who has a professional record of 49 – 0 is going to outclass Conor McGregor who really isn’t an out and out boxer, there are some who believe that the sheer madness, confidence, athleticism and agility of McGregor can actually help him, against all odds, beat Mayweather.

Firstly, let us take at the odds as they stand today in terms of who will win. The bookies have Mayweather to win at 2/7, Conor McGregor to win at 11/4 and the fight to end in a draw at 33/1.

Coming to who will win and how they will win, these are what the odds look like at this time. Mayweather to win by a knockout, technical knockout, or disqualification is at 8/11, Mayweather to win by decision or technical decision is at 5/2, McGregor to win by knockout, technical knockout or disqualification is at 3/1 and lastly, McGregor to win by decision or technical decision is going at 25/1.

There are of course other bet options which are more unorthodox such as both fighters to be knocked down and fight to finish within 59 seconds which are currently at 6/1 and 50/1 respectively.

Whatever bet you choose to go with, at the end of the day, it is important to remember the facts – It is a boxing match, and Floyd Mayweather is one of the best technical boxers the sport has ever seen. It is highly unlikely that a mixed martial artist will be able to fight by the rules of pure boxing and defeat a timeless boxing legend.
