Gina Carano Gets Her Underwear Ripped Off While Handcuffed, And Other Interesting GIFs From ‘In the Blood’ [Gallery/Clickbait]

(Don’t worry, Gina gets out of this one with her honor intact. / Props to BJPenn.com for the find.)

Y’know, I wasn’t sure if I was going to waste 108 minutes watching the new Gina Carano action movie, In the Blood. But apparently, there’s a scene in which Gina, while handcuffed, has her jean shorts and panties roughly removed by a scummy local police officer, and I’m going to be honest — that is very relevant to my interests.

Twelve more amazing Gina Carano GIFs from In the Blood are in the gallery after the jump. Special thanks to swedishfishrule for making most of them, and feel free to complain in the comments section about how Gina Carano has nothing to do with MMA anymore, and we shouldn’t be covering stuff like this. Maybe read this article about how Dana White would give Carano an immediate UFC title shot if she decided to return to fighting, and Ronda Rousey is totally down with that idea. That should make you feel better, right?

The much-hyped sit-down meeting between women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano and UFC president Dana White takes place Wednesday night.

MMA Fighting reported the news Tuesday evening.

Carano, in the midst of a media tour promoting her new movie—In the Blood (which opened on Friday)—has expressed her interest in resuming her career as a professional mixed martial artist.

“It’s something that I’ve always loved to do and it’s been such a genuine expression for me,” she said regarding fighting in an interview on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson earlier this week.

“Crush” has been absent from the cage since a lopsided TKO loss to Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino in August 2009 under the Strikeforce banner.

Despite the recent inactivity from the cage, Carano is technically still under UFC contract since the UFC’s parent company—Zuffa, LLC—bought out Strikeforce in March 2011.

According to White, Carano still has four fights left on that contract in question, though as recent as a month ago, he didn’t think a comeback was in the cards, per MMA Nuts

The 31-year-old bombshell has traded in the gloves and rash guards in favor of feature movie roles in action flicks such as Haywire and Fast & Furious 6 over the past couple of years.

Carano (7-1, four finishes) hasn’t competed at bantamweight in nearly eight years and fought as heavy as a 150-pound catchweight back in December 2006, her Strikeforce debut.

Despite those facts, the big box-office draw has been recently linked to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, with the “Rowdy” one herself even entertaining a temporary move to featherweight to make the matchup a reality, per MMA Junkie.

With Carano and White meeting up to discuss brass tacks Wednesday evening, could we see Carano ink a new UFC deal before the end of the week?

‘Bipolar’ Gina Carano Says She’s Never Gone into a Fight in ‘Top Form’

Women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano could be making her return to the cage before the end of the year, thanks to the aggressive part of her personality that just won’t go away.

Appearing on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson Tuesday evening, she explained why she enjoys fighting so much, as well as why she believes she still has something to prove, per MMA Mania:

It’s something that I always loved to do and it’s such a genuine expression for me. I wouldn’t say that unless I was actually thinking about making a comeback possibly. I think I just have these two different personalities. I think I might be a little bipolar. I just have this super aggressive side to me and I have this shy side to me. They’re going to meet in the middle one day. I can’t wait for that to happen. I’ve never gone into fight actually feeling at my top form. That’s something I really want to experience.

Carano has been doing a media tour to promote her latest action flick In the Blood, which hit theaters on Friday.

“Crush” has been focusing on her movie career since her last cage fight in August 2009, where she lost to Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino in Strikeforce.

The 31-year-old (whose birthday is next Wednesday) is set to meet with UFC President Dana White later in the week to discuss her future as a professional mixed martial artist.

She (7-1) has recently been linked to a showdown with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, though it should be noted Carano hasn’t made 135 pounds since June 2006.

That may not be a factor, though, as Rousey has said she may move up a weight class to fight an icon of the sport like Carano, per MMA Junkie.

The UFC champ, who improved to 9-0 in February with a TKO over Sara McMann, has been linked to matchups with Cat Zingano and Cyborg for her next fight as well.

Therefore, it is possible that Carano could meet someone else entirely for her possible Octagon debut.

As far as women’s MMA is concerned, is Rousey vs. Carano the fight the fans want to see?

ICYMI: Holly Holm Lands Gorgeous Head Kick KO at Legacy FC 30, but Breaks Her Arm

(Photo via Getty)

Holly Holm is two things.

To the sane, she’s a potential money opponent for Ronda Rousey in a sea of female fighters who simply aren’t up to snuff. Holm is closer to Rousey athletically than most other women in MMA.

To the delusional, she’s the Woman to Beat Rousey™. This sentiment is great for selling a PPV, but let’s not kid ourselves. While Holm is head and shoulders above the division, Rousey is mountains above it.

Still, MMA fans like to speculate about such matters. And whenever a fighter like Holm wins a fighter–or a fighter like Cris Cyborg loses one…in a different sport–this speculation reaches a fever pitch.

Holm fought this past Friday at Legacy FC 30. Holm outclassed her opponent, Juliana Werner, throughout the fight and finished her off with a devastating head kick in the fifth round (check out the GIF via @ZProphet_MMA).

This is good news, isn’t it? Cyborg losing a Muay Thai fight erases all her credibility (we don’t actually think this but Dana White probably does), so Holm winning in such a devastating way must’ve impressed White, right?

Not necessarily. Rousey’s immediate future, and therefore the immediate future of the UFC women’s bantamweight division (and by extension, women’s MMA) is still up in the air.

First of all, White hates Holm’s manager (presumably for doing their job) and is “not interested whatsoever” in her. Bummer.

Second, Holm broke her arm in the first round of her fight against Werner. A picture of Holm’s supposed X-ray has been circulating around the web, but we haven’t been able to verify it (websites are citing “Facebook” but not providing a link; Holm’s Facebook has no such picture on it) . So this might be Holly Holm’s broken left arm, or it might belong to some plebeian:

Hopefully Holm recovers soon. If Dana White’s meeting with Gina Carano goes sour, the UFC women’s bantamweight division will need her.

Video: Gina Carano Teases Meeting With Dana White on “The Arsenio Hall Show”

(via The Arsenio Hall Show)

Despite the increasing amount of evidence that suggests it, we still aren’t buying into the idea that Gina Carano might actually return to MMA. We’ll continue to use her tentative connection to the sport as a justification to cover her burgeoning movie career, because deal with it, but the idea of seeing Carano return to the octagon, let alone against a legitimate killer in Ronda Rousey under the UFC banner? Come on, son.

During her recent appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, however, Carano hinted that a return to the ring (as it’s called in Long Island-based, high-end jewelry store commercials) is quickly becoming more than an outside possibility. In addition to telling Arsenio that she is meeting with Dana White and the UFC next week (!), Carano discussed how, despite her decision to initially step away from the sport, her passion for MMA never truly left. I can only assume that she simply neglected to mention “Except for those 5 minutes I spent in the cage with Cris Cyborg“:

There’s not a workout that I go through that I’m not fighting somebody in my mind and it’s never gone away. I love it. It’s something I can do that makes everything else disappear. I dream about it, I just didn’t know if I was ever going to get placed with the opportunity to make a comeback. So I’m either going to do it now or I’m gonna retire and say, ‘I’m never gonna do it.’ So now is the moment.

To recap: Arsenio Hall is still on TV, Gina Carano might fight again, and Robbie Lawler just narrowly fell short of capturing the welterweight title. In 2014. Where’s the reverse button on this time machine, amiright?

Gina Carano Still Dreams About Fighting, Meeting Dana White Next Week

One of the pioneers of women’s MMA, Gina Carano hasn’t stepped foot in the cage since August 2009, so she realizes it’s now or never if she plans on making a comeback.

One of the pioneers of women’s MMA, Gina Carano hasn’t stepped foot in the cage since August 2009, so she realizes it’s now or never if she plans on making a comeback.

The 31-year-old fighter-turned-actress appeared on Thursday night’s edition of The Arsenio Hall Show and revealed that she has never lost the passion to fight and is actually meeting with UFC President Dana White next week. This is what she told Hall, per MMA Fighting:

I love it. It’s something I can do that makes everything else disappear. I dream about it. I just didn’t know if I was ever going to get placed with the opportunity to make a comeback. So I’m either going to do it now or retire and say, I’m never going to do it. So now is the moment. … There’s not a workout that I go through that I’m not fighting somebody in my mind. And it’s never gone away.

Carano again made headlines in the MMA community when rumors swirled on MMA Fighting that she would be signed by the UFC to fight Ronda Rousey this summer, later becoming the subject of a widely believed April Fool’s joke

While there will be no “bikinis only, jello MMA match” on the horizon, it appears that the star of action flick In the Blood (in theaters Friday) is still interested in reaching the pinnacle of the sport.

While Carano has never competed inside the Octagon, she is technically still under UFC contract since she competed under the Strikeforce banner, which was bought out by the UFC’s parent company—Zuffa, LLC—in March 2011.

Carano was 1-1 in Strikeforce, winning a unanimous decision over Elaina Maxwell in December 2006 and suffering a TKO at the hands of Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino in August 2009—the only loss of her career.

Also worth mentioning is that Carano hasn’t competed at bantamweight (135 pounds) since June 2006 and has competed as heavy as a 150-pound catchweight in December 2006.

Therefore, it would be interesting to see how difficult it would be for her to make bantamweight almost eight years later—the only women’s weight class that currently exists in the UFC.

Would signing Carano be a good move or little more than a publicity stunt by the UFC?
