If you’re looking to get your 2011 MMA betting off to the right start, here are our best values on UFC 125 betting lines.

:: Frankie Edgar is the champ, but he’s the underdog. If you find it hard betting against the champ, grab Edgar at +120 at Bookmaker here. If you find it harder to bet against the only guy who has beaten him, the take Gray Maynard at -130 at Bodog here.

:: We’re kinda liking “the new” Chris Leben and expect him to continue his upward career trend. Public money has been pretty heavy on Brian Stann though, and Leben has moved from -180 to -160 at BetUS here. We suggest taking the -160 now before it moves up again.

:: While one of our general rules in betting MMA is to NEVER bet against Anderson Silva or GSP, another one is not to ever take the side against Clay Guida, because, well, he’s Clay Fucking Guida. So take the -150 with Guida here.

Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard is the main event for UFC 125.LAS VEGAS — Fresh off two straight wins over a legend, Frankie Edgar and his confidence are both at an all-time high. Because of that, it’s probably the perfect time to be facing the one man who has figured him out.

Thirty-three months ago, Edgar and Gray Maynard faced off in Broomfield, Colo., with Maynard winning a unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout for Maynard 30-27, but it was much closer than the final scores indicated. Each of the first two rounds were very close, with Maynard out-landing Edgar 22-16 in the first, but Edgar out-landing Maynard 20-16 in the second. The third went decisively into Maynard’s column with a series of takedowns, although Edgar actually out-landed Maynard in the round, 12-8.

All this time later, there’s not a lot that we can project from that fight into Saturday night’s UFC 125 championship encounter.

LAS VEGAS — While you’re getting ready to go out and stuff yourself with overpriced booze and cold appetizers, 22 fighters just finished starving themselves to make weight for UFC 125.

In a match that will be contested for the UFC lightweight championship, Frankie Edgar will face Gray Maynard. Both fighters had no problems making weight, coming in at the limit of 155 pounds.

“I’m going to walk away with a win and get revenge,” Edgar said. “You can’t beat it. I’m going to start the New Year off right.”

Frankie Edgar and the UFC 125 fighters will weigh-in Friday afternoon for UFC 125.All 22 fighters participating in UFC 125 on New Year’s Day will first step on the scale at the UFC 125 weigh-in on New Year’s Eve, and we’ll have the video right here at MMAFighting.com.

In the main event, lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and No. 1 contender Gray Maynard will both need to make the lightweight limit of 155 pounds.
