'David Goggins needs to shut the f*** up' says UFC veteran, approved by Sean Strickland

Former UFC middleweight contender, Hector Lombard has hit out at former US Marine, David Goggins — urging the social media star to “shut the f*ck up” when it comes to fighting advice, after the latter previously served in the corner of former interim champion, Tony Ferguson.

Lombard, a former perennial contender in the middleweight ranks of the UFC, departed the promotion back in 2018 following a decision loss against former title challenger, Thales Leites in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Returning in mixed martial arts competition under the banner of the Gamebred Fighting Championship back in December of last year, Cuban powerhouse, Lombard landed a first round TKO win over Chris Sarro in his most recent outing in mixed martial arts.

And sharing his thoughts on the above-mentioned, David Goggins’ decision to help train Ferguson for his showdown with Paddy Pimblett at the end of last year, Lombard had some strong words for the former United States Marine Corps member — which was also backed up by former UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland.

“This is my opinion, and I could be wrong,” Hector Lombard told Calf Kick Sports. “But this is my opinion: David Goggins needs to shut the f*ck up. …You know I cannot even say something that will help the guy. If all you do is run — and I don’t even think he really runs, because you always run by yourself, okay. When you’re fighting, you’re fighting somebody else.”

“When you’re fighting, you’re fighting somebody else that is good,” Hector Lombard explained. “So when you beat the guy, everybody knows that you beat the guy — black strip, he is the top of the top.”

During his tenure in the UFC, former BKFC contender, Lombard would land notable wins over Rousimar Palhares, Nate Marquardt, and former title challenger, Jake Shields. Lombard also won the undisputed middleweight title under the banner of Bellator MMA during his time with the organization.

Lorenzo Hunt, Joe Riggs

Lorenzo Hunt came in with a surprise at the BKFC 24 ceremonial faceoffs when he smashed a half-eaten tomato in Joe Riggs’s face.

As an MMA fan, it’s not only the actual fight that gets us excited. It’s the thrill of the build-up as two opponents get ready to face each other in the cage. Weigh-ins, faceoffs, and press conferences are great ways for an athlete to promote their fight and increase the standing of their brand.

Ahead of the fight, light heavyweight champion Lorenzo Hunt found his opportunity to promote the event at the BKFC 24 ceremonial faceoffs. Squaring off against former UFC fighter and next title challenger Joe Riggs, Hunt came in with a robust weapon in his hand, a tomato.

Hunt walked up and began to nibble away at the plant before he smacked the half-eaten tomato right in Riggs’s face.

Props to the security and staff working the show for acting quickly. They separated the two fighters before the matter could escalate. Riggs was far from delighted with the strike as he yelled out “c*nt” in Hunt’s direction. The 39-year-old took joy in the exploits of his antics as he laughed at a distance from Riggs and put on a show for the audience.

Lorenzo Hunt infamous for wild antics

Lorenzo Hunt is going into his contest off a five-fight win streak that saw him dispatch Hector Lombard and Josh Dyer in bare-knuckle boxing matches. ‘The Juggernaut’ has become a provocative figure in the promotion who’s infamous for trashing his opponents.

Before his match with Lombard, Hunt walked up to the former champion and took his belt away as security made sure to maintain a distance between them. He proceeded to smash the belt on the floor prior to walking away with it.

After Lombard’s successful defense against Riggs, he was unable to complete his post-fight interview in the ring. Hunt took the chance to jump in and aggressively paced towards the former cruiserweight king who was having none of it. Being already infuriated with his actions from the presser, Lombard didn’t hesitate to take a swing at Hunt as he invaded his personal space.

Do you think Lorenzo Hunt will beat Joe Riggs tonight?

Eagle FC

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC has announced three new high-profile signings.

On Wednesday, ESPN confirmed that former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos had inked a deal with the promotion. He’ll make his opposite Yorgan De Castro on May 20.

It was also revealed that Thiago Silva had signed with Eagle FC and would be making his debut on the same night in the co-main event against Hector Lombard.

Dos Santos suffered four consecutive knockout losses before being released by the UFC in 2021. The Brazilian was expected to make his first post-UFC appearance at Triller Triad Combat 2 against Kubrat Pulev on February 26 but the event was called off due to concerns about COVID-19.

Lombard will be returning to MMA for the first time in six years when he squares off against Silva in May. The Bellator champion hasn’t competed in the sport since suffering a decision loss to Thales Leites in September 2018, his sixth straight defeat. Lombard has been more active and more successful in bare-knuckle boxing as of late.

Silva exited the UFC in October 2013 following a unanimous decision win over Matt Hamill. Since then, he’s fought for numerous MMA promotions and has been pretty inconsistent with his performances. Silva is currently riding a two-fight losing streak and hasn’t fought since May 2019.

Eagle FC Keep Signing UFC Veterans

Khabib’s approach to acquiring talent seems very clear at this point. The lightweight legend appears to be picking up UFC veterans who have a big name. Diego Sanchez, Kevin Lee, Rashad Evans, Ray Borg, Impa Kasanganay, and Irwin Rivera are just some of the names already signed for Eagle FC.

Will you be watching Eagle FC 20 on May 20 after hearing Junior dos Santos, Thiago Silva and Hector Lombard will be competing on the card?

Former UFC standouts Junior dos Santos, Héctor Lombard, and Thiago Silva have found a new MMA home at Eagle FC.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to break the news of dos Santos’ signing, while Silva and Lombard’s deals were announced at a recent Eagle FC news conference.

dos Santos was supposed to face Kubrat Pulev in a boxing match at Triller Triad Combat before the fight was called off on short notice. dos Santos hasn’t competed in MMA since four-straight losses to end his UFC tenure.

dos Santos’ last MMA win came against Derrick Lewis in March 2019. After winning three in a row, a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou would prove to be the beginning of the end to dos Santos’ time in the Octagon.

dos Santos is tentatively scheduled to make his Eagle FC debut against another UFC veteran, Yorgan De Castro in May. De Castro won his promotional debut against Shaun Asher in January.

dos Santos will be joined by Lombard and Silva in his next MMA venture. Lombard has competed in bare-knuckle boxing over his past four fights in BKFC and last competed in MMA in September 2018.

Lombard is also looking to bounce back after six-straight losses to wrap up his time in the UFC. Lombard will compete in the Eagle FC light heavyweight division.

Joining Lombard at 205 pounds will be Silva, who has competed in brief stints in KSW and ACB. He’s won five of his last nine MMA fights, with his most recent win coming against former The Ultimate Fighter standout James McSweeney.

Eagle FC continues to make gains in the MMA landscape. The promotion landed former UFC interim title challenger Kevin Lee along with UFC pioneer Diego Sanchez, who will compete in the Eagle FC 46 main event this weekend.

What are your thoughts on these additions, including Junior Dos Santos, by Eagle FC?

Headline: Joe Rogan Says PEDs Are An “Epidemic” In MMA

In light of the recent PED problem in the sport of MMA, longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan went on a rant about the subject on his latest podcast, referring to the situation as a legitimate “epidemic.”

“The UFC and MMA, in general, is a steroid epidemic,” said Rogan. “They’ve started this really stringent testing and everybody is getting popped. They’re just getting popped left and right. It’s one of the things fighters have been saying for a long time, that everyone is on steroids, a huge percentage. Give a number 50, 60 [percent]. Whatever the f**k it is that are on steroids.”

Rogan touched on the highest-profile case in recent weeks, that being Anderson Silva.

“Anderson was coming back from a broken leg and he tested positive for metabolites,” said Rogan. “It was leaving his system, a very trace amount. If that was the case, it could very well be that he got on some steroids to heal up quicker. Because what steroids do, is they allow you to recover quicker.

“So if he’s 39 years old and he broke his f***ing leg, you’re talking about a long-ass period of recovery. Or you take steroids and you recover in nine months instead of 15 months or fill in the blank. That could be what’s going on, but the reality is it’s illegal. You can’t do it. If it takes you 15 months, the excuse can’t be, ‘I’m going to give you some illegal drugs so you heal quicker. This is the only reason you take these drugs. Don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine.’ No, you’re never allowed to take steroids.”

Rogan also shared his thoughts on Hector Lombard’s positive test, news of which came out this week.

“This thing that Hector Lombard got popped for, I’ve never even heard of this s**t before,” said Rogan. “It’s apparently a designer anabolic steroid, so what I think that means is that it’s one of these steroids that’s been concocted to get around the rules.

“The test are getting way more sophisticated, so who knows? Lombard must have thought that he couldn’t get in trouble for this s**t. I don’t understand it.”

Hector Lombard Wants To ‘Beat Up’ Tyron Woodley Next

Hector Lombard has renewed his calls for a fight with Tyron Woodley less than a week on from ‘The Chosen One’ getting viciously knocked out by Jake Paul.

Lombard and Woodley previously had a run-in at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 19 back in July. The former Bellator middleweight champion accused Woodley of trying to steal his side chick and things got pretty heated.

Hector Lombard Is Still Salty About His Side Chick

Several months on from their run-in Lombard is still holding a grudge against ‘T-Wood’ and would love nothing more than to settle their beef in the BKFC boxing ring.

“I’ve always been interested to fight that fake f*ck,” Lombard told MMA Junkie. “I told you guys a long time ago, he’s a fake f*ck. He tried to pick up other people’s girls – not only mine, any girl that moved around, he tried to pick her up. Like, he feels that he deserves everything, and listen, it’s not about the girl because everybody, you know, when I made a post, everybody’s thinking about that I have feelings for the girl. No, I have feelings for the action of this clown that you think is your friend. You think like he can be your buddy, and here he is trying to get a hold of the girl.

“I think we need to get that fight out of the way, and I’m not going to let go until I get that fight,” Lombard added. “His punk ass needs to get beat up by me, and then I would be a happy man.”

Lombard claims it’s a fight he has been chasing for some time having previously begged the UFC matchmakers to book him against Woodley.

“I even went and I was begging Dana White first, and then I went directly and I begged Lorenzo to get me a fight, and Lorenzo told me like, ‘Oh, let’s see what’s going to happen,’” Lombard said. “But I went to beg Lorenzo. ‘Lorenzo, get me that fight!’”
