Garry, the current number seven ranked welterweight contender, had been long-linked with a return at UFC 303 next month during International Fight Week, seeing a bout with former interim champion, Colby Covington failing to materialize.

Improving to 14-0 as a professional back in February of this year, Dublin striker, Ian Garry turned in a close split decision win over Texan striker, Geoff Neal – remaining unbeaten in the Octagon since his landing three years ago.

As for London Shootfighters staple, Page, the former Bellator MMA title challenger finally made good on his long-anticipated move to the UFC back in March in Miami, landing in the Octagon with aplomb – courtesy of a one-sided decision win over Kevin Holland.

And himself hoping to secure a showdown with incumbent welterweight challenger, Leon Edwards in the future with another couple of high-profile victories, Page expressed a candid interest in a fight with Portmarnock striker, Ian Garry following his debut win at UFC 299.

“I don’t actually care when the fight is, I can do it next week,” Michael Page explained. “I can do it the week after. I don’t mind. I’m just saying it made more sense for the U.K. He’s Irish, I’m English, on the U.K. card. It’s going to be a big card, it would be a great fight. I think he likes to just hang on the back of people’s coattails. So he sees Conor McGregor and gets excited.”

“I’d fight him next week,” Page continued. “If I have a lose ‘X’ amount of weight for that fight, I’ll do it next week. It’s not a problem. I think he misunderstood what’s actually going on. I think he understands I’m dangerous. I’ve never actually met him. I never like to judge too much from a distance, but he inspires me to get in shape because he just has an annoying air about him. If there was any motivation needed, it’s just him talking.”

Garry’s addition to UFC 303 alongside Page adds to a stacked card in Nevada – which is headlined by a huge welterweight fight between former two-division champion, Conor McGregor, and Michael Chandler.

If it gets him a fight with Ian Machado Garry, welterweight fan favorite Michael ‘Venom’ Page will step into the Octagon next week.

After failing to goad three-time title challenger Colby Covington into a fight at UFC 303 on June 29, Garry has turned his attention toward a potential scrap with the former Bellator MMA star. Speaking with Sky Sports, Page confirmed that he had verbally accepted the fight, though he made it clear that no contracts have been drawn up.

Still, ‘Venom’ is more than ready to sign on the dotted line and jump straight into camp if it means throwing hands with ‘The Future.’

“I’d fight [Ian] next week,” Page said. “If I have to lose x amount of weight for that fight, I’ll do it next week. It’s not a problem… I’ve never actually met him, but I never like to judge too much from a distance. But he inspires me to get in shape because he has an annoying air about him.

“If there was any motivation needed, it’s just him talking.”

‘Venom’ accuses ian Machado Garry of ‘riding the coattails’ of more famous fighters

Ever since it was announced that the promotion’s return to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey would be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor, Garry has been desperate to get on the card to share the spotlight with his hero.

“He likes to just hang on the back of people’s coattails. He sees Conor McGregor and gets excited and now he has just changed it,” Page added.

As much as ‘Venom’ would love the opportunity to serve Garry a piece of humble pie on MMA’s biggest stage, it ultimately doesn’t matter who steps inside the cage with him, so long as it puts him one step closer toward a shot at the 170-pound title.

“So, it doesn’t matter if I fight this schmuck or some other schmuck,” Page said. “But either way, you know, I preferably like to go forward, you know. I want to be back in the title picture.”

MVP made his promotional debut at UFC 299 in March, scoring a win over Kevin Holland. The victory immediately thrust Page into the welterweight top-15, occupying the No. 13 spot — six spots behind Garry at No. 7.

“There’s only one person I want right now,” Ian Garry told Full Send backstage at UFC 301. “I’ve made it very f—king clear who I want. Everyone knows his name. Colby, come out, come out wherever you are. He’s running. He’s gonna keep running. He doesn’t want this smoke.

“He doesn’t want it,” he continued. “He knows that I’m a terrible stylistic match-up for him. When you look at it, I’ve never been taken down in the UFC. His only goal against me is to try to take me down and put me on my back. There’s a reason I’m in Brazil training with Demian Maia and Charles Oliveira, Chute Boxe. That’s exactly the part of my game I’m looking forward to someone bringing me to.”

The hope for Garry was to get on UFC 303 and be the co-main event to Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler.

Ian Garry vows to ‘ragdoll’ Colby Covington.

Ian Garry says if Colby Covington signs the contract, he believes he would ragdoll ‘Chaos’ as he doesn’t think the fight would be close at all.

“If Colby signs that contract, I’m gonna walk out with my knee up going, ‘Take the f—kin’ thing. Take the f—kin’ thing and see what happens,’” Garry said. “I will ragdoll him. I promise you. There’s no doubt in my mind I will ragdoll him. That’s why he’s not signing the contract. That’s why he’s not agreeing to the fight. He’s avoiding all conversations with the UFC. He doesn’t want the smoke, pal.”

Garry is undefeated and has looked good in the UFC, and if he does fight and beat Covington, it would allow him to be a one away from a title shot at welterweight.
