A BKFC reality TV show is currently being shopped around, according to BKFC President David Feldman.

Such a show could likely catapult BKFC into a different stratosphere regarding reach and exposure. Back in the day, another very well-known fight brand by the name of the UFC launched its own reality TV series, and it played a pivotal role in turning the UFC into one of the most popular combat sports brands in the world today.

According to Feldman, the BKFC reality TV show won’t just be a carbon copy of The Ultimate Fighter. In fact, he says the show will focus more on the individual fighters, highlighting their day-to-day lives and journeys.

David Feldman Discusses the Potential for a BKFC Reality TV Show

When David Feldman was asked about the potential for a BKFC reality TV show, he began smiling. Finally, unable to contain himself any longer, he would let out an emphatic “Yeah!”

“Yeah, great question,” the BKFC President told LowKick MMA reporter, Makoa Goble. “And actually, even better timing. Because there’s a television conference that’s happening in New Orleans, right now, as we speak. And, we’re pitching our reality show to a bunch of different networks right now.”

“So, perfect, perfect, timing. Great question,” He continued. “Yes, the answer is yes, absolutely. We want it, absolutely. And, I really think we’re gonna get it, ’cause these guys have amazing stories.”

When asked for a little more details about what the show might entail, David Feldman didn’t mind obliging, speaking about what fans can expect from the show, and also describing some of the trials and tribulations that fighters experience in their careers.

“…Look, man. It’s (the show is) gonna be following their journey. There’s not gonna be a bunch of guys living together. It’s gonna be just following their journeys and really seeing about what it’s like to become a fighter… To fight for your life, ’cause a lot of these guys are fighting for their lives. They are fighting for their next meal. And what that really takes to do that, and what you’re giving up and sacrificing.”

Feldman would continue enthusiastically talking about the BKFC reality TV show, and breaking down more of what it would feature. “It will also focus a little bit on the team of BKFC, and what they did to sacrifice… and a lot of the challenges that they face every day. So, it’s a little bit of a combination of both, but it’s really about following the journeys of these guys, and really getting in deep with what makes them tick.”

So, it seems like a BKFC reality TV show could be coming our way sometime soon. This will likely be a great move by the company, and expose them to consumers they might not ordinarily reach.

David Feldman heaps praise on Mike Perry ahead of BKFC 56 he's a major star in combat sports

BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) boss, David Feldman has claimed promotional poster boy, Mike Perry is nothing short of a “major star” across the combat sports sphere, as he gears up for an end-of-year clash with former UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez in Utah.

Perry, a former contender under the banner of the UFC, will make his return to the ring in December against former lightweight champion, Alvarez in a welterweight main event slot atop a BKFC 56 card in Salt Lake City

Embarking on a perfect three-fight winning run since landing in the above-mentioned, Feldman-led promotion, Michigan native, Perry most recently turned in an impressive second round win over former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold back in April.

The victory came off the back of consecutive decision wins for Mike Perry over both former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page, and The Ultimate Fighter veteran, Julian Lane – in what has proven to be a hugely successful venture for UFC alum, Perry.

And sharing his thoughts on the recent surge in stardom of Mike Perry, BKFC leader, Feldman claimed that while both the promotion and Perry helped each other rise, the former has cast himself into a new stratosphere as a definitive combat sports star.

“You know, I think – and Mike (Perry) will say it, we helped each other,” David Feldman told LowKick MMA during a recent interview. “As we resurrected him from the UFC and we were able to help him become a – really I think, he’s a major, major star in combat sports now. At the same time, he talks very good about us. He knows what to say [and] when to say it. He’s just a walking, you know, a walking drop, he knows what to drop and when to drop it. And he does good, and talks good about the organization.”

“He’s a great guy, he’s a great family man,” Feldman explained. “So, I think – look, I always say this, whether I’m talking to sponsors, whether I’m talking to tv networks, whether I’m talking to fighters, I say, ‘Listen, we have to establish a great partnership.’ And if we establish a great partnership, then it works for everybody. And if it doesn’t work for everybody, it doesn’t work for anybody.

Also featuring on that previously mentioned April card in Colorado, incoming BKFC 56 headliner, Alvarez debuted in the rising promotion with a close, split decision win over fellow former UFC star, Chad Mendes, following his departure from Singapore organization, ONE Championship

Charles Oliveira

Renowned MMA journalist The Schmo would never bet against former UFC lightweight champ Charles Oliveira.

On October 21, ‘Do Bronx’ will attempt to once again claim the 155-pound title as he challenges reigning champion Islam Makhachev in the main event of UFC 294, emanating from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Their highly anticipated title rematch will come almost exactly one year removed from their first meeting. On that night, Oliveira suffered a disastrous second-round submission loss to the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ but has since bounced back with a convincing first-round TKO against top-10 contender Beneil Dariush.

Speaking with Mike Owens in a LowKick MMA exclusive interview, Dave Schmulenson, better known by MMA fans as The Schmo, spoke about Charles Oliveira’s impressive ability to come back from a devastating defeat, something that ‘Do Bronx’ has been doing throughout his entire career.

“If you look at Charles Oliveira, he’s the epitome of why combat sports are the greatest sports on the planet,” Schmulenson said. “He’s what makes the UFC brilliant. It’s that anyone can win on any given night and so many people… Look at all the dog fights. Look at the [Dustin] Poirier fight. Look at the [Justin] Gaethje fight. Look at the Michael Chandler fight. Everybody was writing off Charles Oliveira and he had moments in all those fights where you thought he’d get beat.

“For him to come, do what he does, finish fights, and do it in spectacular fashion. He’s got this aura about it. There’s something so special about him and even as I’ve interviewed him as The Schmo and we don’t speak the same language and there’s translators communicating, I’ve always felt an aura with him. A sense of confidence and this greater human achieving greater things and that’s why I say I would not doubt Charles Oliveira. I would not bet against Charles Oliveira because there’s just something so special about him.

“I’m very interested to see how this fight goes and I do know that Islam Makhachev is truly the real deal.”

Can Charles Oliveira Make Another Big Come Back at UFC 294?

Considered by many as the greatest lightweight in the history of the division, Charles Oliveira has seen his fair share of setbacks inside the Octagon. ‘Do Bronx’ has been finished eight times in his UFC career, but after dropping four out of six between 2015 and 2017, Oliveira saw a massive career resurgence, scoring 11 straight wins with only one of those victories coming by way of a decision.

During that run, Oliveira claimed the vacant lightweight title with a big win over Michael Chandler but tragically lost the belt on the scale after weighing in heavy for his UFC 274 scrap with Justin Gaethje. ‘Do Bronx’ went on to win the fight against Gaethje, but would come up short in his bid to reclaim the 155-pound crown against Makhachev at UFC 280.

Will Charles Oliveira solve the puzzle his second time around, or will the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ continue his reign of terror over the lightweight division?

Sean Strickland predicted shock win over Israel Adesanya two years ago you have to fight him

Turning in a stunning upset victory against two-time middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya last weekend, Sean Strickland appears to have predicted his exact victory over the Nigerian-Kiwi more than two years ago ahead of his UFC 293 title win – claiming he would need to take a firm fight to the former.

Strickland, who headlined UFC 293 last weekend against defending middleweight champion, Adesanya, managed to win the divisional crown with a shocking upset win, stopping the City Kickboxing staple’s second title reign with a one-sided unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) decision win.

Forcing Adesanya to fight exclusively in a countering fashion in their Sydney, Australia showdown, despite dropping the second round to the two-time champion, Strickland got off to a stunning start, becoming the first fighter to score an official knockdown on Adesanya, dropping his with a counter right hand straight.

Sean Strickland stunningly predicted UFC 293 title win over Israel Adesanya

Winning rounds three, four, and five on all three judge’s scorecards furthermore, Strickland, who firmly and comfortably out-striked and out-pointed Adesanya throughout the clash, managed to predict the exact outcome and gameplan he would use to defeat the champion, more than two years ago in resurfaced interview footage.

“Ah, dude, (Israel) Adesanya, he’s one of the best strikers in the f*cking world, man,” Sean Strickland told LowKick MMA. “He’s another guy that’s like – you’re not gonna go and outpoint Adesanya. You’re not gonna go out there and out-strike Adesanya, you’re gonna have to go in there and f*cking fight him.”

“Same thing with Uriah Hall, I’m not gonna go out there and play tag with Uriah Hall, if I’m gonna do that, he’s gonna catch me,” Sean Strickland explained. “I have to go in there and fight Uriah Hall – you have to go in there and fight Adesanya, you know.”

Lined up to potentially face former champion, Adesanya in an immediate championship rematch – potentially as soon as December, Strickland has already made some alterations to his championship title however, requiring duct tape to repair a side panel of the belt that he somehow managed to break within less than three days of winning the crown.

Do you expect Sean Strickland to face Israel Adesanya in a title rematch next?

Valentina Shevchenko isn’t so sure that Amanda Nunes‘ retirement will stick.

On September 16, ‘Bullet’ will make her highly anticipated return to the Octagon as she attempts to reclaim the flyweight title she surrendered to Alexa Grasso at UFC 285 in March. Ahead of the rematch at Noche UFC, Shevchenko spoke with James Lynch in a LowKick MMA exclusive interview about her impending title tilt and the status of the stacked flyweight division.

During their conversation, ‘Bullet’ was asked for her thoughts on the retirement of two-division women’s world champion, Amanda Nunes. Shevchenko and ‘The Lioness’ are no strangers to one another, having fought on two separate occasions with the first coming at UFC 196 in 2016. Nunes scored a unanimous decision victory over Shevchenko in their inaugural meeting, with the pair running it back a year and a half later at UFC 215. On that night, ‘Bullet’ found herself on the wrong side of a split decision, but the loss didn’t come without a hint of controversy as many fans believe Shevchenko did enough to even the series at 1-1.

“I would like to have this trilogy fight, but I can’t say I’m disappointed,” Shevchenko said of Nunes’ retirement. “Amanda, she made her decision and she had a great career. I think the second fight… The result was not how it was. I think I won that fight.”

Speaking about Nunes’ surprising decision to hang up her four-ounce gloves, Valentina Shevchenko is not entirely convinced that we’ve seen the last of ‘The Lioness’ inside the Octagon.

“She did so many huge things in the fight, in her career. It’s very hard to judge why she [retired], but on the other side, I feel like many people confuse the term retirement and instead of using the term retirement, they could use the term a little layoff,” Shevchenko said. “A little rest. Maybe a year. Maybe two, but not retirement because I feel she is young enough to continue the fight journey. Maybe after a year or two, she’ll change her mind and decide to have another fight or two.”

She continued, “Every time there is a possibility. Something can be different. For example, Henry [Cejudo] decided to retire. After two or three years, he had his family, his babies, and he came back. That’s why I’m saying not to use the term retirement because retirement is something fundamental. It’s forever. Use [the term] take a break and go and rest, then see what is going to be.”

Shevchenko Believes the Pressure of Being a World Champion Could Have Weighed on Amanda Nunes

Nunes walked away from the sport after successfully defending the 135-pound title against Irene Aldana at UFC 289. She relinquished both the bantamweight and featherweight titles, having defended them a combined eight times and facing some of the biggest names in women’s MMA history, including Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Holly Holm, and of course, Valentina Shevchenko.

“When you have to defend your belt. When you have to prepare in training camp, it’s like constant physical and mental pressure, and definitely, you cannot live this life forever in this pressure,” Shevchenko added. “Sometimes you have to take time to rest and their your mind is recovered up, you say, ‘Why not? Why not give it another shot?’”

Do you think we will see Amanda Nunes return to the Octagon someday?

Exclusive – Valentina Shevchenko determined to ‘Destroy’ Alexa Grasso in anticipated UFC title rematch

ShevchenkoValentina Shevchenko is hell-bent on reclaiming the UFC flyweight title that she believes is rightfully hers. Valentina Shevchenko is hell-bent on reclaiming the UFC flyweight title that she believes is rightfully hers.

On September 16, ‘Bullet’ will attempt to bounce back after suffering her first loss in more than five years. Stepping into the co-main event at UFC 285 earlier this year, Shevchenko shockingly surrendered her gold to Alex Grasso after succumbing to a fourth-round rear-naked choke submission. Seven months later, the pair will run it back at Noche UFC.

As fight week approaches, Shevchenko sat down with James Lynch in a LowKick MMA exclusive interview to discuss her mindset going into the highly anticipated title tilt. Asked if she was focusing on a specific aspect of her game going into the rematch, ‘Bullet’ revealed that her training has been business as usual.

“It’s everything. Everything as usual because in MMA, it’s a complete fight style,” Shevchenko said. “You are and I am complete MMA fighters. I have to focus on everything in terms of wins and losses to the best of [my ability]. I cannot focus on only one thing and then in the fight, something changed and I’m not prepared. The fighter who fights on a high level of competition has to work on everything.”

Valentina Shevchenko Offers Her Prediction for Rematch with Alexa Grasso

To prepare, Shevchenko has been honing her skills at the iconic Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand. There, ‘Bullet’ feels like she’s been able to get back to the roots of what eventually grew into her becoming one of the most dangerous women in mixed martial arts.

“It’s kind of like when you are reviving everything from the beginning and it’s kinda like the same when you’re going back to the place where you were growing up,” Shevchenko continued. “You remember your feelings on this journey to become the best. To become the greatest. And definitely, all these emotions wake you up and say, ‘Okay, this is what you have to feel. This is what you have to do.’”

As for how she sees things playing out, Valentina Shevchenko is determined to destroy Alex Grasso and reclaim the flyweight crown in emphatic fashion when she returns to Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

“I go there for the victory. I go there to destroy my opponent,” Shevchenko said. “I go there not to joke around. I go there to take what is mine and show not the best version of me but the greatest version of me.”
