The UFC roster tracking accounts reported that following this weekend’s UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas, Jake Hadley has been cut from the roster. The Brit was looking to make it back-to-back wins at bantamweight but came up short.

His original opponent, Brady Hiestand, withdrew from the bout on fight week and was replaced by Cameron Smotherman who came in for his UFC debut. “White Kong” ended his run in the promotion with a record of 3-4 and this news wasn’t going to slip past a former rival of his.

Despite some pleasant exchanges between them on social media in more recent times, the feud between UK flyweights Hadley and Muhammad Mokaev has gone on for a long time at this stage. This came to ahead in the UFC when they shared the card with one another at UFC 286 in March of last year.

Both men are no longer with the promotion after Mokaev’s contract wasn’t re-signed, leading him to return to his former promotion of Brave CF. After seeing the news of Hadley’s UFC departure, Mokaev looked to get the last laugh.

Hadley responded, telling his long-time rival to finally set the fight up between them by getting Brave CF to reach out to him now that he is no longer under contract with the UFC.

“Tell brave ring me how much they saying lil man”

This followed a previous exchange where Hadley offered to step in and replace Raul Rosas Jr. who was set to grapple Mokaev at ADXC 6 this Friday. “The Punisher” will now face Brazil’s Rogerio Bontorin at the event instead.

If Brave CF are able to get Hadley to sign so they can make the fight, this would be a great bout for them to put together that would generate some serious interest. Hadley also shared the following post on social media after the PFL’s Dan Hardy commented on the news of his recent release.

This weekend’s UFC Fight Night card has gone through a change to it’s main card that will see a highly regarded prospect step in for his Octagon debut. Former TUF finalist Brady Hiestand was set to return in a bantamweight contest with Jake Hadley.

England’s Hadley made the move up to 135-pounds from flyweight after taking a short notice fight with Caolan Loughran at UFC 304 and securing the victory.

However, with Hiestand out of the fight, Cameron Smotherman will now replace him in order to make his UFC debut on just a few days notice. The most noteworthy aspect of this is that Smotherman already had plans for this weekend. Plans that saw him travel to Riyadh.

Following the announcement of the fight, reported by Alex Behunin, Raufeon Stots posted that the 27-year old was set to be in his corner at Battle Of The Giants on Saturday night. The former interim Bellator bantamweight champion will face Marcos Breno on the biggest night in the history of the PFL.

Now he will try to get the win with one less cornerman due to the fact that Smotherman’s gone back to Las Vegas in order to try and capitalize on this opportunity.

Smotherman previously fought for a UFC contract back on last year’s season of Dana White’s Contender Series where he was stopped in the opening round. Following three consecutive wins under the Fury FC banner, he’s back with a point to prove.

Stots posted the following message in response to Behunin’s post about the new fight that will take place at the Apex this weekend.

“i thought i was dreaming last night when he told me here in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. It was like 3:30 am. Lost a corner but Couldn’t be happier for one of my best training partners.”

UFC flyweight, Jake Hadley, details extreme weight cut in the build up to his fight against Cody Durden.

Last Saturday saw Haddley and Durden square-off in an exciting 125lb contest was packed with thrilling grappling exchanges. Ultimately though, it was Durden who would earn the judges nod after securing the win in the third round in front of the Nashville crowd.

Following the nights actions, Hadley would post a statement and revealed that during his weight cut the 27-year-old almost died.

“Lost the fight few things went wrong before the fight I almost died during the weight cut I actually saw God for a second. Couldn’t rehydrate like normal felt like that had a major effect on my performance because I couldn’t push like normal anyone who knows me knows I never gas,” said Hadley.

“Fix theses mistakes ready for the next one respect to Cody he showed he was a true warrior surviving that armbar what a gangster. Nashville fans was absolutely amazing they really showed me some love lot of people telling me should of been FOTN I dunno but Durden deserves a bonus.”

What’s next for Jake Hadley and Cody Durden

While the loss puts Hadley’s UFC record at 2-2, the Englishman has shown promise in his short stint with the promotion, including back-to-back stoppages wins prior to last weekend. If Hadley’s weight cutting woes are true, there is absolutely no doubt it would have impacted his performance.

Hopefully Hadley can fix his weight issues and continue down the right path as an emerging British talent.

As for Durden, who took the fight on two weeks’ notice, that now makes it four wins in a row and with back-to-back victories over Charles Johnson and now Hadley, a crack at the top-15 would not be out of the question.

Cage Warriors flyweight champion Shaj Haque has called for a rematch with Jake Hadley in the UFC.

Whilst not yet a household name, Shaj Haque is on a mission to make the step up to the UFC, and take on the very best the P4P No.1 promotion has to offer. The British/Bangladeshi prospect picked up an enormous win on New Year’s Eve at Cage Warriors 148, earning a third-round knock-out over Sam Creasey en route to becoming their new Flyweight champion.

Now on a five-fight winning streak, Haque is knocking on the door of the UFC and has an opponent set on his mind. In an exclusive interview with Tom Mordue of LowKickMMA, Haque called for a rematch with Jake Hadley, who defeated him back at Cage Warriors 114 in late 220. He stated:

“I would fight him in a heartbeat today. [Jake Hadley] is a great fighter and I’m not going to take anything away from him and funny enough he knocked me out in my last loss. On that day, he was the better fighter, but that was a tough camp for me during lockdown. I was initially supposed to fight him before COVID and it was supposed to happen during the birth of my child.“

“Then COVID happened and I was still trying to adapt to being a father. When we got back into camp I still took the fight, but that camp was very hard. I’m sure Hadley had some troubles as well, but I don’t think he had as many troubles as I had. Also running a gym myself, it was a lot of stress and I felt like my mindset was not there when I fought Jake Hadley.”

Since their 2020 contest, both Shaj Haque and Jake Hadley have taken big leaps in their respective careers. Haque has won five straight fights, capping off 2022 by becoming the Cage Warriors Flyweight champion. Hadley earned a UFC contract in 2021 and is coming off of his first win in the promotion after he defeated Carlos Candelario with a triangle choke in November. 

Hadley is currently set to fight Malcolm Gordon at UFC 286 in London in front of his home fans. Haque is also looking to get on that card and represent South Shields should the opportunity arise. While Hadley is booked against Gordon, Haque has made it clear he is one call away from joining the promotion to fight on that card in March should the matchup fall through. 

Regardless of whether the rematch comes to fruition, Shaj Haque is an intriguing prospect to watch for in 2023 and a rematch with Hadley could result in fireworks. Check out the full interview right here:

Caolan Loughran Says Jake Hadley Is A Perfect Replacement Opponent At UFC 304

Just one week out from UFC 304 this Saturday, Ireland’s Caolan Loughran had his fight and opponent switched around on short notice.

Loughran was announced to be fighting UFC flyweight contender Jake Hadley after his previous opponent Ramon Taveras was declared injured and unable to make July 27.

Though having a chance of opponents one week out from fight night is never ideal, “The Don” is very happy with his new fight.

As well as the fact that he had been preparing to fight a southpaw which both Hadley and Taveras are, this England vs Ireland fight between two former Cage Warriors champions is sure to get the Manchester fans excited.

Loughran spoke in an interview with Violent Money TV about how this fight ended up working out pretty well in his favour after all.

“I was like f*** me, unbelievable. That’s a bigger fight domestically, going to have more buzz. He’s also a southpaw as we were preparing for. F****** let’s go, let’s do it, that’s what I was thinking.

I actually get on alright with Hadley. Fair f****** respect to him for taking the fight, I didn’t have a fight there for like a day and I don’t know what the f*** was going on. I wanted to be on this card so fighters fight innit, fair f****** play to him but like I say, I half get on with the guy but I don’t need beef this time. This fight is going to be big anyway.”    

Jake Paul Shares Comparison Photo Of Mike Perry’s Custom Chain After Stopping Him

Jake Paul added to his current winning streak this past weekend when he stopped Mike Perry in the sixth round where his size and power was simply too much for the ‘King of Violence’.

After the fight, “Platinum” tipped his hat to his opponent, putting out the following message on social media to show his appreciation to the fans for their support.

“Congrats @jakepaul , shout out to @NateDiaz209 who went 10 rounds with him. Thanks to everyone who came out.”

Paul, on the other hand, was not so humble in victory as he chose to readdress a certain aspect of the build to the fight.

Perry had worn a custom chain of Paul’s head with blood and bruises all over his face which “The Problem Child” shared after the bout next to a photo of Perry’s face being in a similar position.

VIDEO: Cody Durden Shows Himself Getting Substantial Stitches After Ruthless Loss To Bruno Silva

Cody Durden gave fight fans a glimpse into what happens once a fighter exits the Octagon following his loss this past weekend at the Apex.

Durden was stopped in the second round following a devastating uppercut from Bruno Silva which was followed up on until referee Chris Tognoni waved the fight off.

The flyweight contender was left wearing some significant damage on his face as a result and decided to shine a spotlight on a side to the game that many don’t see.

Posting on X, Durden shared a video of himself getting stitches from medical personnel during his post-fight medical.
